"The amusement in his voice makes me want to punch him directly in the nose. Except his nose is far too pretty to risk breaking it, so maybe a punch in the gut would be better. But then I would feel his abs, and that feels more dangerous, so maybe I should break his nose."

This book was such a delight. Jenny Proctor's characters, humor, and narrative progression were spot on (as always). From the beginning you feel like rooting for Ivy and Freddie. I enjoyed how she gradually reveals how the characters are feeling, and how their feelings continue to change throughout the book. The relationship has a natural flow to it. I loved following along for the ride.

This is book 2 of Jenny's Midnight Rush series. We first met Freddie and Ivy in book one, Once Upon a Boy Band. You do NOT need to read book #1 first, but I recommend it to avoid some spoilers. I have really loved this series. Fans of Jenny's other books will love her subtle nods to her other series (Appies, Stonebrook Farms, etc). Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for my ARC copy. As always, all opinions shared are my own.

"Because I’m not sure belonging is a place so much as it’s a person. I’m pretty sure I can feel at home anywhere, as long as I’m with you.”

This was a great second book in the series. Freddie is a famous singer and Ivy is his assistant. She has loved him for years, but he hasn't seen her that way until now. A fun clean friends to lovers story.

“I'm beginning to think someone like Ivy is exactly who I need.” 🎸🎧🎶🎤❤️
one more made up love song 5/5⭐️
Thank you to the author and Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this!! I loved this book so much I ATE IT UP. Fake dating and a celebrity romance. Chefs kiss. I could not put this book down. I loved how they both were in love with each other just too scared to admit it. This book is about Ivy who is the boss to superstar Freddie Ridgefield. When she got the job she promised she would never fall in love with her boss. One day Freddie kisses Ivy to save himself from a bit of bad press. What starts as a PR stunt turns into something much more. This is the second book i’ve read by this author and I love her writing and I can’t wait to read more!! This book is out TODAY!! Be sure to check it out if you love fake dating, celebrity romance, and a clean read!!

When Ivy took the job as personal assistant to Freddie Ridgefield, she promised never to fall in love with him. Unfortunately, she failed to keep that promise, but at least she's never let him know. And she's starting to work on separating her work and private life, to avoid falling further. But when the pair publicly kiss to avoid a nasty situation, everything goes sideways. The world believes them in love, and acting 'normally' becomes impossible to both Ivy and Freddie. But is Freddie just a good actor, or is he really starting to feel something for her? Is it the beginning of the end of them working together, or the start of something real?

Take two really nice people (despite Freddie's fame), one all too aware of the other, the other completely oblivious in that way, then publicly throw them together. He's not really sure how he feels, but he's sure he can't do without her so is scared to jeopardise what they have; she knows what she feels but is sure he doesn't feel the same. In a way, it's just a typical fake relationship story - but the author somehow manages to raise it above that, I loved getting to know them both and seeing them finally get together after meeting them briefly in the previous book. I also loved the way her family supported her (well, once her sister got her head on straight) - and Freddie too, given his family situation. They're so great together, I loved it just as much as I expected to - which is a high bar! Recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Reading Jenny Proctor books is like being in the middle of a great hug. They’re always comforting, even when dealing with complex or potentially upsetting topics. I know that I will always finish them with a goofy grin on my face. One More Made Up Love Song is no exception. Heartwarming and funny and despite the fact that half of this pairing is a rockstar, the story was grounded and still felt intimate despite paparazzi and super fans and security guards. I will say that I thought a specific direction was being implied for the next book (I assume and hope we’ll get Leo and Jace’s stories) but the bonus epilogue put paid to that. Not upset in the slightest but wondering which direction the next one will take. I will absolutely be here for it though and Jenny Proctor firmly remains an auto-buy author in my books.

-rockstar romance
-fake dating (but real feelings)
-she fell first but he falls harder
-friends to lovers

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Jenny Proctor just knows how to write the perfectly sweet and wonderful romance book! She has all the chemistry all in a closed-door book, which I absolutely love. This is the second in the series but it completely works as a standalone. Told in dual POV, I loved getting in the mind of both main characters. I always look forward to anything Jenny writes and this was no exception! 4.5 stars! *I received a complimentary e-ARC from the author/publishing company via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I adored this book, read it so fast and smiled the whole time.

I loved Once Upon a Boyband last year, and talked about it so much that my husband got me a Midnight Rush crewneck for Christmas. Midnight Rush is the boyband that Freddie, Leo, Adam and and Jace where in, and where they became friends. This book is about Freddie, who now has a successful solo career, and his assistant Ivy. It involves a fake relationship, a lot of pinning, some perfect swoony kisses, and sweet love story.

This is top tier friends to lovers, I loved their relationship so much. I loved reading about their feelings, and I loved the slow burn, it was so worth it. This was a super sweet, fun, and quick read (I basically devoured it in one more sitting) and it was everything I hoped it would be.

I absolutely loved this book. I wish it were longer because by the end you will absolutely be wanting more of Freddie and Ivy!

Ivy has been working with Freddie who is likely the biggest pop star of our generation who broke out of a successful boyband called Midnight Rush ( so think one direction type vibes). And in order to save her sister, Freddie helps out Ivy and kisses her in front of paparazzi and they start a fake relationship.

This book is dreamy and you can instantly feel the connection and chemistry between the two. The confession of feelings will have you kicking your feet loving every second!

This was my first time reading anything by Jenny Proctor, and it definitely won’t be my last—consider me a new fan! Her writing style has a great flow and is incredibly engaging. I finished this book in just two sittings because I was so drawn in.

One of the highlights for me was the dual POV format. I really enjoyed experiencing the story from both Freddie and Ivy’s perspectives. Each voice felt distinct, and their dialogue was natural and believable—something that can be hard to pull off, but Proctor nailed it here.

Although I haven’t read the first book in the series, this one worked perfectly as a standalone. I never felt lost or confused, which is a testament to how well the story was crafted.

The only reason this wasn’t a full five-star read for me was that I would have liked to feel a bit more chemistry between Freddie and Ivy. Their connection was sweet, but I found myself wanting just a little more spark to fully buy into the romance.

Overall, a delightful read that left me excited to dive into more of Jenny Proctor’s work!

I loved this sweet story about super star (and former boyband member) Freddie Ridgefield and his longtime assistant Ivy. This book is so sweet especially coming after the equally sweet last year’s Once Upon a Boyband which introduces these characters. One More Made Up Love Song can be read as a standalone, but loved the added information we get from the boyband’s history and dynamic from reading the first one. (I reread some parts after finishing this book as a refresher).

This is a closed door/no spice romance. Both characters are fix-it people and rarely think of themselves. They make the perfect pair as long as Freddie finally realizes what was in front of him all along, and Ivy finally confesses her true feelings that she has been hiding due to their work relationship. The friendship is evident and is an honest friends to lovers storyline.

The book is so easy to read and the characters are very likable which makes for a great Rom-Com. I enjoyed it thoroughly and I am looking forward to the rest of Midnight Rush’s Happily Ever Afters.

Thank you to Jenny Proctor and NetGalley for an advanced digital copy of this book.

I loved this book so much! Finally got Freddy’s story. I loved Jim in once upon a boy band so I was so happy to get to read all about him. I laughed it loud so many times!

I enjoyed Once Upon a Boyband and was eager to jump into book two.

One More Made Up Love Song is book two in the Midnight Rush Romance series by Jenny Proctor and she didn’t disappoint.
This is a sweet clean romance with all the feels.
Proctor writes with heart and humour, and the story's energy never fails.
Such a cute, quick and easy read.

Thank You NetGalley and Victory Editing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Book 2 of the Midnight Rush Romance Series - ugh this book was so cute!!! It was light hearted and fun. It was exactly what I needed and I read it in less than 24 hours. Literally devoured the book, it was so good.

Freddie and Ivy have a fun relationship because they are such close friends while also working together. They are each others’ ride or dies. The loyalty and dedication is unrivaled. They also have so much fun together, with teasing and inside jokes. Once their feelings really started taking over the chemistry and flirting was so good 👏🏻 and no one could deny the sparks flying in the room.

I also loved the plot of being on tour and everything with Carina (Ivy’s sister) and getting to see Laney and the Midnight Rush guys again. All the side characters were perfect in their own ways! Cannot wait for Jace and Leo’s books!

Can’t recommend enough if you want a light hearted read with teasing banter, found family, passionate kisses, and the rockstar life.

This is a clean, closed door romcom with no cursing and passionate kissing with minimal physical details. Author has written content warnings at the beginning of the book.

Jenny’s books are always wonderful - and I love the fact that every time I read one, I get to the end and see “other books by Jenny Proctor” and I remember all of the books I’ve read and loved because I’m terrible at remembering author names - it’s like a shot of confetti straight to my heart at finding another book by Jenny that is just infinitely starred.

The thing I love most about Jenny’s book is that they’re wholesome, they give you the kicking feet, swoon-worthy, blush filled romances without any of the heat you get in other rom-coms, they’re just delicious!

This book is beautiful, and I absolutely loved the inspiration at the end from Jenny’s family, just adorable.

This book hit me in the feels, it covers loss so thoughtfully, delicately and sensitive in a way that’s so rare. I especially loved how Ivy’s parents behaved, and the scene with their dad in his workshop who’d crafted a wooden arbour for Ivy’s wedding day (unplanned) broke me, but in the best way. Ivy’s parents are inspirational.

Freddie is the kind of star you wish all musicians would be, proud to have gained a loyal fan base but doesn’t shy away from tricky conversations where there’s a risk of a fan taking things too far - copycat tattoos on this case - the way he approaches interactions is exactly what you’d want for a meet and greet with your hero pop star.

I cannot wait to see what Jenny writes next, is it cheeky to say I hope there’s a follow up with Jace and Carina’s story… I sense a spark there!?

For any girl who grew up in the 90s boy band era or is a fan of Harry Styles, this book is for you! I really loved the first in the series and was excited to get Freddy and Ivy’s story. Of course I could not help but picture Harry Styles the entire time I was reading (the messy hair, the tattoos, the teenage boy band turned solo star). This is a fun story for the inner fan girl in all of us. I wish there had been a little more to the plot, it felt slow at times and not a lot happened. The personal assistant who he slowly realizes he’s in love with was a bit of a cliche and I wish there had been more to it, or a better reason for him to suddenly notice her and have feelings for her. But all around it was a fun and easy read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I could not get enough of this book!! I absolutely adored it from start to finish.

Ivy + Freddie were such an easy couple to cheer for - they were so likeable, and their love story unfolded at a nice pace. Jenny does such a great job at lining up the special moments (a hug, a look, a fake kiss etc) where you cannot wait for them to get together, yet the journey to get there is SO satisfying.

I also really enjoyed the side characters and stories in this book - Ivy's sister, Wayne and the security issues, the comparison of their families. The Midnight Rush characters played a sweet role in this one, and I cannot wait for the next two stories in this series!

I received an ARC via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

I absolutely adored "One More Made Up Love Song" by Jenny Proctor! This charming rockstar romance captured my heart from the start with its engaging characters and delightful storyline. Ivy Conway, the independent assistant to rockstar Freddie Ridgefield, struggles to maintain professionalism while her heart says otherwise. A spontaneous kiss turns their relationship into a whirlwind of emotions and fake dating. The chemistry between Freddie and Ivy is electric, and their journey from colleagues to lovers is beautifully portrayed. Freddie is irresistibly sweet, and Ivy’s growth is inspiring. The side stories, including Ivy’s loving family and a baby donkey, add warmth and humor. This novel is a perfect continuation of the Midnight Rush series, offering a fulfilling romance that stands strong on its own. Five stars for a beautifully crafted love story!

Freddie Ridgefield is a post-boyband mega popstar, Ivy Conway is his assistant-turned-life manager. She’s been into him for YEARS when they stumble into a fake dating situation and EVERYTHING CHANGES.

The vibe is Two Weeks Notice but swap Hugh Grant with Harry Styles. Yeah BABY.

There is YEARNING from page one, there is FAKE DATING, there is a SWIMMING HOLE, there is a HOT DANCE FLOOR MAKE-OUT. Most importantly, there is a tender-hearted slim-Jim of a rockstar, with messy hair and cliche tattoos that we love nonetheless.

I loved this one so much. I’m gonna go with 4 stars instead of 5 only cause I actually would have liked to see a little more conflict and thus a more clear narrative arc, but if you’re looking for something lighter, this is the book for you.

Shoutout to NetGalley for this here ARC. Literally got an account just to request this book. All opinions are my own, etc., etc.

I love the feeling I get after reading a book by Jenny Proctor. Her stories are so well written I feel like I’m part of them. I experience what the characters do, whether good or bad, but they always have the best endings. I’m left with such a happy heart and with hope that there is still good in the world.
I absolutely loved Freddie! He was such a sweet man who didn’t let fame consume him. Sure, he has his faults like any person, but he has such a great attitude and outlook on life. It would have been impossible for Ivy to not fall in love with him after years of being so close. The slow burn was starting to get to me (I can only handle so much) but it was worth it. Their love story is just beautiful!
