I enjoyed Once Upon a Boyband and was eager to jump into book two.
One More Made Up Love Song is book two in the Midnight Rush Romance series by Jenny Proctor and she didn’t disappoint.
This is a sweet clean romance with all the feels.
Proctor writes with heart and humour, and the story's energy never fails.
Such a cute, quick and easy read.
Thank You NetGalley and Victory Editing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Book 2 of the Midnight Rush Romance Series - ugh this book was so cute!!! It was light hearted and fun. It was exactly what I needed and I read it in less than 24 hours. Literally devoured the book, it was so good.
Freddie and Ivy have a fun relationship because they are such close friends while also working together. They are each others’ ride or dies. The loyalty and dedication is unrivaled. They also have so much fun together, with teasing and inside jokes. Once their feelings really started taking over the chemistry and flirting was so good 👏🏻 and no one could deny the sparks flying in the room.
I also loved the plot of being on tour and everything with Carina (Ivy’s sister) and getting to see Laney and the Midnight Rush guys again. All the side characters were perfect in their own ways! Cannot wait for Jace and Leo’s books!
Can’t recommend enough if you want a light hearted read with teasing banter, found family, passionate kisses, and the rockstar life.
This is a clean, closed door romcom with no cursing and passionate kissing with minimal physical details. Author has written content warnings at the beginning of the book.
**Thank you so much to Jenny for letting me read this ARC via NetGalley. I received a complimentary copy. No positive review was required. All thoughts are my own.**

Jenny’s books are always wonderful - and I love the fact that every time I read one, I get to the end and see “other books by Jenny Proctor” and I remember all of the books I’ve read and loved because I’m terrible at remembering author names - it’s like a shot of confetti straight to my heart at finding another book by Jenny that is just infinitely starred.
The thing I love most about Jenny’s book is that they’re wholesome, they give you the kicking feet, swoon-worthy, blush filled romances without any of the heat you get in other rom-coms, they’re just delicious!
This book is beautiful, and I absolutely loved the inspiration at the end from Jenny’s family, just adorable.
This book hit me in the feels, it covers loss so thoughtfully, delicately and sensitive in a way that’s so rare. I especially loved how Ivy’s parents behaved, and the scene with their dad in his workshop who’d crafted a wooden arbour for Ivy’s wedding day (unplanned) broke me, but in the best way. Ivy’s parents are inspirational.
Freddie is the kind of star you wish all musicians would be, proud to have gained a loyal fan base but doesn’t shy away from tricky conversations where there’s a risk of a fan taking things too far - copycat tattoos on this case - the way he approaches interactions is exactly what you’d want for a meet and greet with your hero pop star.
I cannot wait to see what Jenny writes next, is it cheeky to say I hope there’s a follow up with Jace and Carina’s story… I sense a spark there!?

For any girl who grew up in the 90s boy band era or is a fan of Harry Styles, this book is for you! I really loved the first in the series and was excited to get Freddy and Ivy’s story. Of course I could not help but picture Harry Styles the entire time I was reading (the messy hair, the tattoos, the teenage boy band turned solo star). This is a fun story for the inner fan girl in all of us. I wish there had been a little more to the plot, it felt slow at times and not a lot happened. The personal assistant who he slowly realizes he’s in love with was a bit of a cliche and I wish there had been more to it, or a better reason for him to suddenly notice her and have feelings for her. But all around it was a fun and easy read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I could not get enough of this book!! I absolutely adored it from start to finish.
Ivy + Freddie were such an easy couple to cheer for - they were so likeable, and their love story unfolded at a nice pace. Jenny does such a great job at lining up the special moments (a hug, a look, a fake kiss etc) where you cannot wait for them to get together, yet the journey to get there is SO satisfying.
I also really enjoyed the side characters and stories in this book - Ivy's sister, Wayne and the security issues, the comparison of their families. The Midnight Rush characters played a sweet role in this one, and I cannot wait for the next two stories in this series!
I received an ARC via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

I absolutely adored "One More Made Up Love Song" by Jenny Proctor! This charming rockstar romance captured my heart from the start with its engaging characters and delightful storyline. Ivy Conway, the independent assistant to rockstar Freddie Ridgefield, struggles to maintain professionalism while her heart says otherwise. A spontaneous kiss turns their relationship into a whirlwind of emotions and fake dating. The chemistry between Freddie and Ivy is electric, and their journey from colleagues to lovers is beautifully portrayed. Freddie is irresistibly sweet, and Ivy’s growth is inspiring. The side stories, including Ivy’s loving family and a baby donkey, add warmth and humor. This novel is a perfect continuation of the Midnight Rush series, offering a fulfilling romance that stands strong on its own. Five stars for a beautifully crafted love story!

Freddie Ridgefield is a post-boyband mega popstar, Ivy Conway is his assistant-turned-life manager. She’s been into him for YEARS when they stumble into a fake dating situation and EVERYTHING CHANGES.
The vibe is Two Weeks Notice but swap Hugh Grant with Harry Styles. Yeah BABY.
There is YEARNING from page one, there is FAKE DATING, there is a SWIMMING HOLE, there is a HOT DANCE FLOOR MAKE-OUT. Most importantly, there is a tender-hearted slim-Jim of a rockstar, with messy hair and cliche tattoos that we love nonetheless.
I loved this one so much. I’m gonna go with 4 stars instead of 5 only cause I actually would have liked to see a little more conflict and thus a more clear narrative arc, but if you’re looking for something lighter, this is the book for you.
Shoutout to NetGalley for this here ARC. Literally got an account just to request this book. All opinions are my own, etc., etc.

I love the feeling I get after reading a book by Jenny Proctor. Her stories are so well written I feel like I’m part of them. I experience what the characters do, whether good or bad, but they always have the best endings. I’m left with such a happy heart and with hope that there is still good in the world.
I absolutely loved Freddie! He was such a sweet man who didn’t let fame consume him. Sure, he has his faults like any person, but he has such a great attitude and outlook on life. It would have been impossible for Ivy to not fall in love with him after years of being so close. The slow burn was starting to get to me (I can only handle so much) but it was worth it. Their love story is just beautiful!

Set while on tour and back in Nashville, Ivy Conway is personal assistant to rockstar Freddie Ridgefield. When circumstances lead to Freddie kissing Ivy, they find a fake relationship the best course of action. Ivy has been trying to hide her true feelings for years. But will Freddie finally see what has been in front of him this whole time?
This is a fantastic second book in the Midnight Rush series. I loved last year's Once Upon a Boyband, and this delivered!
I loved seeing Ivy and her family, particularly how they love and care for each other after prior loss, plus how they welcome Freddie in. And I loved seeing Ivy's response to Freddie's family.
This is a top-tier friends to lovers! We see the big and small moments that shift things for the main characters to finally being ready for a real relationship. Fans of The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams should also enjoy this.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this eARC!

I have been excited about this book since I knew it was coming reading book 1 in this series. Ivy and Freddie are some of the most likable characters and I adored the way the two of them work together and take care of each other. Friends to more is rarely my favorite, but this book had everything I love and nothing I hate about it. The dual pov in this book helps bring along the story and helps you understand well where the two are coming from, and you get some fabulous cameos from the other guys in the Midnight Rush boyband now all grown up. While you do not need to have read book 1 for this to make sense, I believe it will be better enjoyed knowing the backstory (and it's amazing, so check it out as well!). I read an early version of the book from NetGalley, check this book out as soon as you can!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+💘
This book is everything. It reminded me why I love to read so much. To read about real people going from pain to happiness and everything in between.
𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙮, 𝙄’𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙚.
I don't know where to start. I usually hate romances where there are any kind of power dynamics, like boss and employee. And this book couldn't be further from it. While Ivy is Freddie's assistant, they are mostly really good friends. There is respect and true friendship between them, so much so that you easily forget that she works for him.

He isn't a popstar (do people still use this term?). He's just a guy who longs to belong somewhere, to feel something and to truly live. Becoming famous at 16, Freddy was quickly submerged by that lifestyle and hasn't known any sense of normality since then. And Ivy, while being his assistant, is the closest thing he has to a friend. But since getting to know the real Freddy, she fell in love with him, even though she promised she would never.
Now, they are caught in a situation that has brought them closer than ever, with the potential to end in heartbreak or turn into a love story.

I won't give away any more of the plot; just know that this book is worth a read. Jenny's writing is - as always - extremely fluid, and I read the entire book in two sittings. The number of quotes I highlighted is borderline unhealthy.
It's been a few hours since I finished it and I cannot stop thinking about the characters. That's how I know a book is a 5 star read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and all the opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing team for the access to this ARC. You are the best!

I'm not going to lie the way I devoured this book was unladylike, unmotherly and I'm not ashamed. I pushed away children's cuddles, demanded cold drinks to be brought to me and I'd do it all again 😂
Once upon a boy band had to be one of the most memorable books I've ever read I loved everything about it, be still my forever BSB beating heart. This book just continues on perfectly, I adored it, it was so good I forgot to highlight, bookmark, annotate! The found family in this story broke my heart. I'm not ashamed of the tears that fell. The book is good, it's great but definitely read once upon a boyband first, fall in love with the series.

Cute series and cute book about a former boybander/current megastar who begins fake dating his assistant
I liked this story a lot but found it to be a little too cutesy and vanilla. There was no real conflict in the book, and not a ton of chemistry, but it was an enjoyable read that would make a great palate cleanser. Thank you NetGalley for the arc! Due out next week.

This book lived up to all the hype! If I could give it more stars, I definitely would!
Ivy and Freddie are just the cutest.
I loved the combination of years-long crush and how-did-I-not-see-this-before love. It worked so well for their characters and roles in the story.
Other things I loved:
-the shirtless tattoo scene
-Freddie holding a baby donkey
-THE song!
-the epilogue I saw coming...but it still brought me to tears
I can't wait for Jace's and Leo's stories in the future!!! There were definitely some hints and I can't wait to find out who and dig deeper into their stories!
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

I have been waiting for this book since the first in the Midnight Rush series ended. Freddie is one of the most famous singers in the world, and Ivy is his right hand gal. They have trust and friendship already, and when events push them together, love follows. This book was like a giant hug. I loved the interplay between these two, and can’t wait for the rest of the band. Highly recommend this book!

Ivy is the PA of rockstar Freddie. She promises herself to never fall in love with her boss until he kisses her as a public stunt.
Love this rockstar romance. Great chemistry. The main characters are likable too on their own. Really enjoy this book. Love this writer 's earlier book Once Upon a Boyband and this one is just as good.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

SO GOOD! Love Jenny and this series. Ivy and Freddie’s relationship was so good. The build up of realizing feelings and love that is built on friendship is my favorite kind. Already can’t wait for the next one!

4-4.5 stars. If you’re looking for a cute, happy, low-drama romance, this is definitely the right book for you. “One More Made Up Love Song” is a great continuation of the Midnight Rush story.
Though it’s a quick love story (on Freddie’s part at least), Ivy and Freddie have such a deep foundation of a relationship that it was easy to imagine. And there were some explorations of loss and fame that made the story more than just an easy rom-com.
I would say only quibble is that the first book in the series also featured a fake relationship, and I kind of wish a different trope had been the catalyst to getting them together. But overall it didn’t take away from the fun of reading the story.
Thank you to Jenny Proctor and Victory Editing for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finished in 2 days. Loved every minute of it, every boy band reference. Every previous book reference with flint and appies. I love Jenny and she's amazing and I recommend her books all the time!
Fake dating, boss/assistant, tour vibes.....everything was done so well. Even the way Jenny handled trauma was excellent. I love how Ivy and Freddie blossomed and how he fell and every part of their relationship. I love that she was in his world and I love love love the CVS scene.
I cannot wait for the next book, I think it will be about Jace! Fingers crossed!

I’ve been reading quite a bit of Jenny Proctor lately, and I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one sadly didn’t live up to my hopes for it.
It was fun to be back in the Midnight Rush world, and this one again gave all the best boy band/One Direction vibes, but it was just really repetitive. It was dual POV, but it felt like it just went back and forth with each character thinking the same things the whole time, but neither of them saying anything to each other. Freddie and Ivy were both still easy to love characters, but the actual storyline just fell a bit flat for me. Regardless, I’m still fully invested in Leo & Jace’s future stories, so I’m in it for the long haul on this series!
Thanks to NetGalley and Jenny Proctor/Victory Editing for the ARC of this book!
