Creepily enjoyable anthology from a group of writers that in the whole I wouldn’t associate with horror, so this has been particularly interesting.
The Doctor’s Wife by Abir Mukherjee and Boneless by Janice Hallett are particularly good, and give a good example of the breadth of the anthology - found documentation relating to a cryptid sighting and a tale that deletes into Hindu myth.
More of this sort of Anthology please

I caveat my review with the fact that I'm a hard sell on short stories. That's not to say I don't like them, sometimes I do, sometimes they can work for me, and so I'm always on the look out for collections that include my favourite authors because that's where I've had the most success. And what a list of authors this is! So many I have read from and adored before, a couple that were new. Sadly though, this one just kept missing the mark for me. I actually think in this case the collection as a whole works better the individual stories. I get what the 'whole' was going for, but so many of the individual stories were just 'ok'. There's not a bad one in the bunch, just nothing stood out either. I'm absolutely certain this collection will work well for traditional short story lovers, but it wasn't for me. A decent enough 3 stars, and one I'd still recommend.
