Romantasy Cocktails is pure enchantment in book form. From the moment I saw the title and cover, I knew I was in for something special. The concept is such a clever twist on both mixology and the tropes we love in fantasy romance. Each cocktail is paired with charming character introductions and playful references to classic romantasy dynamics, making it feel like more than just a recipe book—it’s an immersive, magical experience. The artwork throughout is absolutely stunning, capturing that dreamy, otherworldly aesthetic, and the drink names are just as creative, inspired by familiar themes and beloved tropes. The recipes are easy to follow, which makes this perfect for themed book club nights or cozy evenings in with fellow romantasy fans. What really won me over was how effortlessly it blended the whimsical allure of fantasy with the fun of crafting beautiful cocktails. I’m already looking forward to trying these out at my next book club gathering

Romantasy Cocktails was such a fun and creative read. I really enjoyed how each recipe was introduced with little character spotlights from romantasy books, which made the whole experience feel playful and unique. The cocktails themselves look delicious, but what I loved most was how the book blended fantasy vibes with mixology in such a charming way.

Romantasy Cocktails by Jassy Davis is a beautifully designed guide on how to make Romantasy-inspired Cocktails ✨that will definitely impress all of your friends. Starting of,f I loved how the guide starts off by providing a 101 on how to make drinks. It starts explaining the type of glasses you will need to make each cocktail and why the specific cup matters. Additionally, it explains essential stuff like the garnishes, how to layer the drinks, how to make syrups, and even how to smoke a cocktail! Afterwards, the guide provides 60 recipes to make delicious and beautiful Romantasy Cocktails.

The illustrations are just STUNNING! With each cocktail having an illustration to show it, as well as section divider illustrations that have all Romantasy themes. I loved the dragon illustrations! The book separates the drinks into categories based on the spirit type:

🍸 Gin & Vodkas
🍹 Rums, Tequilas & Bourbons
🍷 Whiskies & Liqueurs
🥛 Zero-Proof

🥂 Pitchers

My favorite parts were both the beginning, where we get the explanation of how to make the cocktail smoke, which is super impressive to me, as well as the pitcher recipes, because if you run a book club like me, you want to make these for them! I can’t wait to make some of these drinks for the Book Club girlies, as well as the pitchers! This will impress them!

This was TOO CUTE! What a great idea and well executed mixology/recipe book. I am a fellow romantasy lover so I was immediately intrigued by the title and cover. I had to see what it was all about and I was pleasantly surprised by how diverse the spread was and the cute little blurbs above each drink recipe. I think the tutorials about creating your own syrups was over the top in the best way! I would have liked to learn more about mixology though, for example more details about utensils (i.e. pouring and mixing spoons) I loved that literally every single drink sounds delicious and unique and most importantly creates a whole vibe. Each drink has its own special presentation and I loved that the most. There’s also zero-proof options which sound so yummy! My only complaints would be I wish there would’ve been a glass featured on each recipe page to make it more noticeable instead of the photos of stock cocktails in between. Overall I would absolutely recommend this to a friend because even if they don’t drink alcohol, this book is for everyone who drinks liquid!! It has the most unique cocktails I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much to NetGalley, HarperCollins Publishers, Cider Mill Press Books, and Jassy Davis for the chance to read this in exchange for my honest review.

While the drink recipes are fun, I think in order to have a recipe book you s hold be required to real photos of drink. The images are AI or really bad graphics that turned me off from this. Why would I want to buy this if the creators haven’t probably even made the drinks.. or at least cared enough to show if the final results was actually good.

I loved this!! I thought the drink names were perfect!! I love the overview in the beginning of how to make simple syrups & different techniques with cocktail making. Enjoyed that there was a section for pitcher drinks, so you can make and enjoy for a group. Easy to read and understand recipes. Loved the pictures, I just wish some of them were actual pictures of drinks vs designed, but all in all I would definitely recommend and buy this book :)

Such a fun guide, very beginner friendly. This edition is simple, but beautifully illustrated, and the recipes are straightforward.

I did love the variety of drinks and ingredients, there's something for every mood (or every book), from more muted flavors to stronger mixes.

A charming recipe book for readers who enjoy a good companion drink with their adventures.

As an avid romantasy reader, this book was a must-have right off the bat just because of the title and aesthetic. This whimsical book is inspired by popular tropes, characters, and settings, and is absolutely perfect for themed events, cozy nights, and even book clubs!

The book is arranged into the following main categories: Gins & Vodkas, Rums, Tequilas & Bourbons, Whiskies & Liqueurs, Zero-Proof, and Pitchers. The names of the recipes are clever and appropriately romantasy-themed, and each recipe comes with a little blurb that ties in nicely with the inspired trope. The instructions are easy to follow, and the ingredients are relatively easy to find as well. Some of the recipes require specialty liqueurs that you may not have lying around in your liquor cabinet and might need you to take a trip to your local liquor store, but that’s to be expected if you’re trying to make cocktails!

The only letdown for me was the lack of actual pictures of the final product. While the illustrations of the drinks were gorgeous and on theme, I would have really liked to see real pictures of the drinks.

Overall, this is a really creative and charming cocktail book that is sure to be a great gift for readers and cocktail lovers alike!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for this eARC!

This book was so fun. As someone who is a romantasy reader but doesn't drink alcohol, I had a giggle from the names and descriptions of each drink. There's also an alcohol free section of recipes, so this is perfect for any romantasy lover.

Okay, I need this on my shelf simply for the aesthetic. No one held back when it came to putting ✨vibes✨ into this one.

Now listen, I am in no way a mixologist. My resume includes: vodka sunrise 🍹, whiskey-sour-basil 🥃, and maybe a sangria if I’m feeling fancy. But I do like my drinks, and I was so here for this.

The author (god bless her soul 🙌) explains it like we’re 5 (but legally allowed to drink, you get it). She covers everything: glass types 🍸, layering, smoking, garnishing, and even making your own syrups, and the step-by-step instructions are super clear.
You do need some tools though, since drinks require precise measurements (ml and oz).

The book is divided into:
1️⃣ Gins and vodkas
2️⃣ Rums, tequilas, and bourbons
3️⃣ Whiskeys and liqueurs
4️⃣ Non-alcoholic (zeroproof)
5️⃣ Anddddd pitcherssss for all of us besties meeting together 🥳🍷👯

Every drink is introduced with a magical, fantastical attribute so you can match the cocktail to your vibe. There’s even a “touch her and die” drink 😏. The names are hilarious, on point, and honestly dangerous because some had me drooling at 11 AM… but hey, it’s 5 PM somewhere.

⚠️ Caveat: these are full mixes (3–7 ingredients).
Some are simple (lemon, basil), others need specific liqueurs or spirits you’ll have to buy or make. That means testing drinks can get pricey if you’re stocking a full bar.
Hack: befriend your local bartender and ask them to make one or two so you can taste-test before investing.

Finally, the illustrations, while simple, are so atmospheric. They don’t just show a glass, they give you a whole mood (like “sky of red, lightning, dragons in it” mood 🐉🌩️).

Thank you Netgalley and Cider Mill Press for the eARC.

This would be a perfect housewarming gift for any lover of romantasy!

The illustrations throughout are absolutely stunning and bring an extra layer of magic to the experience. I especially appreciated the inclusion of non-alcoholic drink options—such a thoughtful touch that makes this book enjoyable for everyone.

Whether you're hosting a themed book club night or simply want to add a little whimsical flair to your weekend reading routine, this book offers the perfect tipple!

The idea behind Romantasy Cocktails hooked me right away. A collection of drinks inspired by the tropes and drama of my favorite romantasy stories sounded like such a fun concept. The names of the cocktails are clever, and I loved that each recipe includes a little blurb tying it to themes like fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, or dangerous fae. It feels like something that would be perfect for a book club night or a themed gathering.

But for a book like this, visuals matter a lot, and that’s where it really fell short for me. The illustrations don’t enhance the experience at all, and honestly, they cheapened the overall look. They’re not photos, they’re not hand-drawn, they just have that flat, uncanny feel that makes me think of bad AI art. One page would be heavy and dark while the next was oddly bright and cartoony, which made the book feel inconsistent and unfinished. For recipe books especially, I expect to see appealing photos that show me what I’m working toward, and this didn’t deliver.

5 ⭐

What to expect:
• Fun cocktails
• Romantasy inside jokes
• Perfect for bookclubs and book/drink pairings

This is such a fun book and would be a perfect gift for any romantasy readers, or a great idea for book club get togethers — there are even notes to make larger batches of some of the cocktails for events.

There are some less common ingredients listed for some of the recipes, but things like home-made syrups are used for multiple drinks, which makes these worth while. The recipes are also organised by liquor type means the book is easy to navigate.

I also really appreciated the clever romantasy references!

Thank you to Cider Mill Press and NetGalley and for this ARC

A lot of the recipes sound really good but I’m not a fan of the odd ingredients I would only buy for one recipe. It’s tempting to maybe leave those ingredients out but I think they are needed. Also the amount of ingredients for one drink is a little excessive. I do like the themes though- if I ever throw a themed party I would suck it up and make the drinks happen.

Such a cute book for any romantasy lover.
A very informative and fun cocktail recipe book with fun cocktail names and beautiful illustrations throughout

The names are perfect and hilarious! Some of the liquors definitely verge on highly specific but likely could be subbed with some tweaks. The illustrations unfortunately disappointed me a bit, they were pretty rudimentary for a genre which has spawned a multitude of truly gorgeous fan art. The homemade recipes for syrup at the beginning and the addition of a zero proof section made up for that minor disappointment. The descriptions before each recipe are also hilariously tongue in cheek. A winter release will work very well with the overall theme of the drinks, but there are still plenty of lighter springy fare in there as well. Overall I think most romantasy lovers will enjoy this cocktail cookbook.

Thank you Cider Mill Press for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I am looking forward to using this book for my romantasy book club meeting this month.

The first thing I appreciated was the information regarding glasses. I often find myself looking for my cutest glass without regard for why each glass would be used. This book has an excellent cheat sheet at the beginning to let you know why you may choose one vessel over another.

I also loved the information regarding syrups! The ones from the store are often filled with aspartame, forcing me to either buy a super expensive artisan one or find another cocktail that doesn't need one.

Moving on to the cocktails, their names are super funny, topical and cute. Most have relatable and easy to acquire (or make) ingredients.

I am planning on making the Starlight Pool, Brojito and Iron & Ash for my meeting.

Overall a huge variety of flavours and liquors are available, all with fun names and interesting little blurbs about them!
