The Spear and the Sentinel : A Military Techno thriller by J.L. Hancock, is the second book and the sequel in the "The Voodoo" Series, I loved the first book "The Hawk Enigma" it was a joy to read. This book was also fast-paced and full of action throughout that will have you hooked from the very beginning.
I enjoyed the military angle and the cutting-edge technology which lead to excellent high-stakes missions which were excellent, they had me sitting on the edge of my seat and I could not turn the pages over quick enough! .

Voodoo the main character and his team of special operators are thrust back into the heart of a global conflict. But, the stakes are so much higher now especially as China's Belt and Road Initiative pushes into Central Asia. These will expose dark ambitions and a secret lab advancing AI warfare, which is bad news for everyone around the world.

Now, they're have to be 100% ready for the vast steppes of Kazakhstan etc . . .. . . But, there is also so much tension within Voodoo's team. They all have to be "one" team, but this has become so hard for them all, especially as they have new team members and they are adding friction within the team!
Plus, Voodoo has more troubles from his past as it returns to the present.

Now, they find themselves on the brink of a perilous future, where the Western world is unwilling to a world, where AI reigns supreme, and there is NO turning back for anyone!!!!

Will Voodoo's team succeed?

Or

Has Voodoo and his team luck finally run out?

Tick Tock the Clock is ticking. . . . .

I am so happy I had a chance to read these books. I will be looking out for J.L. Hancock books in he future.......

It had that element that I enjoyed from the previous book and enjoyed the use of the technothriller concept. The characters were everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed about the first book. J.L. Hancock has a strong writing style and was glad I read this.
