I had a lot of expectations for this to be good, I found myself cringing at a lot going on. I am usually hoping for the happy ending but this just left me so unsatisfied. One flash mob is bad but two in the same book just made me squirm from embarrassment.

Introducing Craig as someone who is the right choice and then going back to the same mess was an interesting choice.

Astrid seemed to be the only person speaking any sense at any point.

Deeply flawed characters that have ended up together in what seems like a very toxic lead up. I kept persevering thinking this would improve but I should have just put it down.

Oh I loved this!

Love Digitally is a super cute romance for the modern age, with long distance flirting, childhood friends to lovers and 'it's always been you' vibes. Erin as a protagonist is fantastic, the way that she handles all of her friends being at different life stages to her, caring for her mother (and what a woman she is!! Her and Roger had me cackling with laughter) and a new long distance relationship was so sweet!

And Josh! Our sensitive, hurt MMC. What a man. The very definition of 'if he wanted to he would'.

This is a super cute, super fun and super easy read that I would highly recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC!

I was originally intrigued by the premise of this book, and then drawn in by an immediately dramatic opening scene. This is a solid debut with much to like: main characters who are in their early forties with average careers and mundanely complicated lives, the familiar concept of connecting with long-lost friends via social media, and the sheer temptation of pursuing something with the one who got away… even if they got away, geographically, as far as humanly possible. Josh and Erin’s past teenage relationship is depicted so realistically (i.e. not all sunshine and roses) and their present day attempts to develop something are full of humour and awkwardness and some serious second-hand embarrassment. There’s depth, too, from Josh’s history and Erin’s struggles to juggle work and family and friendships, and the way everything plays out feels true to the characters. Overall I’m glad I took a punt on this one, and will look out for more from this author.

This is long-distance romance with a techy twist. Childhood sweethearts Erin and Josh haven’t seen each other in twenty years but they’re getting married anyway

such a sweet and uplifting book. i came away feeling so much better in my soul from this book. the layout is fresh and new and so too feels the premise. i cant believe this is the authors debut. im beyond impressed with that and also excited. excited because this could very much mean i get a new author that i get to look out for and get happy feels when they get new books out. if this is anything to go by we have lots of goodness to come.
i really like how we meet Josh and Erin. these childhood sweethearts who now haven't seen each other in decades. i love the concept of her morning being his opposite but how they get to know each other at these different times of day as they meet. it felt mind bending at first to imagine these two, one sat in the morning one at night lol. but then it felt oddly cute. and then i got that same old angst feeling when you fall for a book and its characters and want them to be together. but you then have to wonder how can this be. as these two have oceans and time zones between them!
i really enjoyed getting to know the pair not only in the now but also from moments of their past.
all the characters in this book were lovely ones to get to know and the author did such a good job of bringing them to life for me. the cover of this book was also exactly the feeling that carried on throughout so bonus points for the idea and illustrator for that.
im so happy for this author. to get your first book out there, even though i dont know her makes me incredibly proud for her. it must feel wonderful. and to have a book that just as lush as this? well she should be mega big headed tonight.
as i said before i cant wait to see more from this author. i just need to keep everything crossed i get to read whats next.

Josh and Erin were childhood sweethearts, but due to a series of unfortunate events, they haven't seen each other in over 20 years. He's in New Zealand with a daughter and she's in their hometown working as a painter and decorator and supporting her Mum as a carer. Social media brings them back together and they get to know each other from opposite times of the day.
It's a very sweet story, with a whole host of likeable characters. As much of the dialogue is texted, it came across as cringe initially, but eventually worked its magic. The book keeps a nice pace and is never dull to read, moving the plot forward, whilst filling in flashbacks of the past.
