This was a beautiful retelling of the story of Cleopatra, told from her own perspective. Far from the classic Hollywood depictions of Egypt’s most famous queen, this tore open the curtains for us to see her in a decidedly more human light, she may have been a powerful leader but she also made mistakes, loved and lost, just like all of us.

Expect emotionally complex characters, rich imagery and powerful storytelling from Cleopatra. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed some tears at the end of this book, so if you’re like me and have ever felt like she’s a historical figure who deserves her voice to be heard, buckle in.

This book is a wonder! Saara depicted Cleopatra so brilliantly! The way she inserted the pieces of fiction within the facts is seamless, I could not see where the facts started and the fiction ended. She brought such a twist and a life to an already iconic historical figure, I could have read more!!!
I cannot wait for this book to be out and to finally be able to share my love for it with everyone!!

This was a very well written book with well fleshed out characters and an interesting plot. I like that it was told from cleopatras pov and she had a very strong voice with an interesting tale to tell. The book is nicely paced so it makes for easy page turning. The lush descriptions give this a good sense of time and place
I would recommend to historical fiction and mythology fans

I knew very little about Cleopatra. I enjoyed this imagining of what she could of been like. If you have read from the author before you will enjoy this one too.
