I wish that writers of teen fiction wrote in a way that did not feel they are trying to get adults who may be reading to understand social media and mobile tech. Within two pages it reads ‘I pull my phone out and go online to check the app dowsn’t exist’. Why not allow the readers to infer: I try to check the app does not already exist whilst steering clear of teacher’s glare. ?? Teenagers HAVE to use inference in exams, why not make them do it in fiction they may choose to read. A more complex narrative style would have been preferred.

It also worries me that writers still think teachers are antagonistic, acrimonious and that teaching is a battle. Why not present teachers as positive role models rather than an enemy?

Couldn’t get past the first few pages, sorry.
