Certainly plenty of magic in this brilliant book this has to be one of my top ten reads this year. All the characters were brilliant and I loved following their stories especially Peg and Henry, just wonderful and with a great ending.
I was involved from the very first page and I cannot speak highly enough about this book, thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This was a heartfelt book with a touching storyline about loss and finding hope again. I liked the idea behind it and some moments were really moving. The writing is gentle and warm, but I did find the pacing a little slow and some parts predictable. It’s a nice read if you want something emotional and reflective, but it didn’t completely grab me.
Thank you NetGalley & Bookouture for sending this book for review consideration.

A heartwarming, snow-dusted delight! ❄️
Emma Davies delivers a cozy, emotional read filled with mince pies, unexpected friendships, and second chances. Peg and Henry's slow-burn connection is tender and believable, wrapped in all the charm of a quiet Cotswolds Christmas. If you love your festive reads with warmth, healing, and a hint of fate, this one's a hug in book form. 💕✨

the minute i saw the blurb that said "fifty-five year old" i new i was in. the rest of the blurb and the cover only drew me in further to really getting excited for this read.
and the good feeling i had only continued to grow and grow. we are taken into a snow swirling festive book of gorgeousness. full of heart, hope and new chances. i adored this book so much!
this is one of those books for me that dives a little deeper into your heart and takes up a lovely little shelf there. and you don't mind one bit.
This book brings us the story of Peg who's got her lot in life or so she thinks. she lonely and has been for a while. but can she really asks for more right now then to get through this snowstorm and home to her place in the Cotswold's? well, lets see shall we...
because around the corner is a traffic stopping heart finding jam. one which brings a surprise meet with a waffle knit wearing, mince pie sharing warm hug of a man.
straight away we saw this meet, we felt this meet and we fell for these two meeting. i was instantly seeing and feeling their connection. it was like it was always meant to be.
there meeting ends but then it really doesn't.
and what comes next is a quiet but actually ever so loud story of taking a chance. taking risks. and taking your heart and holding it close whilst also allowing someone else to do the same. the gentle and tender telling of these two is just joyous to read. i couldn't get enough and i think this book will sit somewhere on the special list of books i've read.
this was exactly the book the world needs right now. it made me feel so much better and allowed me to escape into a beautifully written and beautifully told world of two people and the scenes they created for me together. i cared for both of them and needed to know how this would all play out. i was anxious now to know if they would both be ok!
i mean we are also at Christmas in the Costwolds so i need i ever need to say more than that really?
this book was perfection. honestly one of those books i wish i had a library and money so i could buy them, keep them, and cherish them forever.

One December Morning is one of those rare winter reads that quietly nestles into your heart and stays there.
Emma Davies invites us into the life of Peg, a woman whose days have grown quiet and predictable—until a snowstorm, a traffic jam, and a shared mince pie lead her to Henry. Their meeting is simple, almost accidental, yet Davies renders it with such warmth and intimacy that it feels like fate gently nudging two souls together.
But this isn’t just a tale of festive romance. It’s a beautifully layered exploration of grief, hope, and the courage to embrace change. Peg’s transformation is subtle but deeply felt, and Henry—with his threadbare jumper and gentle spirit—is the kind of character who feels like an old friend.
Set against the charming backdrop of the Cotswolds and sprinkled with just the right amount of seasonal magic, One December Morning is a quiet triumph. It’s perfect for anyone who believes that the most meaningful moments often arrive when we least expect them.
With thanks to Emma Davies, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
