This is a phenomenal read. The sense of creeping unease is maintained to a spine tingling level and the the tension is high until the final reveal and jaw dropping twist.
I loved the insights into Japanese culture and into life as a relocated person. The settings and the food were evocative and vivid. This is a unique book with elevated prose. I read this over a couple of days and couldn't wait to get back to it. I can't wait to see where Kazumi goes next with her writing.
