Thank you to the author for providing an ARC of this book. I enjoyed reading a fresh take on the Hades and Persephone myth. It was a fresh take on the myth but kept enough ties to the original story while adding new ideas, plotlines, and characters who could stand on their own outside of the myth.

While I appreciated the storyline and the overall concept, I sometimes found myself rereading to follow what was happening. The writing style occasionally made it difficult to follow the story, and I noticed some areas where the book felt less developed. Limited character growth (victim of the I hate you but I want to jump your bones immediately trope), sections that came across as information-heavy, and a few plot points that left me wondering if I missed something.

Overall, I enjoyed the creativity and potential in this retelling, and I’m glad I had the chance to read it. My rating is 3/5 stars.
