2 ⭐️ Heirs and Graces at Highland Hall by: Hannah Lynn is Publishing on November 2, 2025 with Boldwood Books

This is book two of the series. The first I absolutely loved gave it 5 stars. I was excited and hopefully when I heard there was a sequel. Unfortunately, it did not hit the mark for me and I was so happy to jump back into its world. While in general it’s not a bad story, I felt disappointed. I guessed the ending plot twist and even though a lot does happen it also doesn’t feel like much of relevance and more of a place hold or go between. I didn’t like the plotting of take of change with the characters here and the community feel and hope wasn’t in this one. Even though I want to know how it ends I’m unsure if I want to read the third one. This one felt tedious and boring compared to the original. It lacked the continuation and growth you’d expect in a sequel. I’ll wait until closer on if I continue the series but this one was too flat and lacking.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity and Boldwood Books for the ARC copy allowing me shares my honest thoughts.

If you’re craving a cozy escape to the Scottish Highlands with a side of romantic tension and village gossip, this one’s a treat. Heirs and Graces at Highland Hall brings us back to the estate where hearts were once broken, and maybe—just maybe—ready to be mended.

Rebecca Barker thought she’d left Highland Hall (and Duncan, the brooding Scotsman) behind for good. But when beloved laird Fergus passes away, she’s pulled back into the world she tried to forget. What follows is a gentle, heartwarming story of second chances, old wounds, and the kind of love that lingers like mist over the loch.

Hannah Lynn’s writing is breezy and comforting, with just enough sparkle to keep things interesting. The setting is pure escapism—Highland charm, a big Burns Night bash, and all the emotional messiness that comes with revisiting the past. It’s romantic without being saccharine, and the characters feel like people you’d want to share a dram with.

Perfect for fans of Veronica Henry and Julie Shackman, this is a lovely autumn read to curl up with when the nights draw in and you’re in the mood for something tender, funny, and full of heart.

Thank you to Hannah Lynn, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is the first book that I've read in this series but I do think it can work as a standalone. I will now go back and read more by the author. Highly entertaining

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Bex thought she'd left her time in the highlands for good but then she gets devastating news. Fergus the laird has died and she needs to go back. She doesn't want to bump into Duncan after they had said they couldn't continue a long distance affair. Love Hannah Lynn books. Cant' wait for the next in the series

I loved this book, as much as I loved the first one in the series! This author truly knows how to get me hooked! I love every one of her books that she writes and I hope there will be another one in this series! Thankyou so much

I’m sorry… WHAT?! Where’s the rest of the story? This is the second book of the series and I’m thinking is an intermediate book to carry over to book 3. As you can read from the book summary, Duncan and Bex broke up and Fergus died. Bex goes back up to help with a will issue concerning Fergus’ estate. The whole book is basically about the break up and will. It’s a very fast read if you want to keep with the story, but I kinda wished I stopped with book 1.

Thank you, Boldwood Books, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

A good read in the Highland Hall series. I enjoyed the first book but felt there was a wee gap between the end of that book and the start of this one which was equally enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the next one. A good story based round a big house and estate next to a highland village. Characters old and new were encountered and the story was based round an inheritance, career and love and friendship. I don’t think the book needs to be read as part of the series but a reader would probably enjoy it more knowing the back story of the characters.

I was all set to give this new book by Hannah Lynn four stars until I got to the very last page, that last page turned my potentially glowing review on its head. I was given the opportunity to read a preview copy by the publisher in return for an honest review, what I’m about to write wasn’t at all what I had expected to write, in fact I still can’t quite believe it . There I was enjoying the read, getting to know the characters and being more and more drawn into the story , when it suddenly just stopped . The End . I even considered I’d been given an unfinished copy , but no it really was the end . I was so disappointed, it was as though the writer had simply given up, run out of words , because there was absolutely no conclusion whatsoever. It wasn’t one of those where you want a book to carry on because you’re so engrossed in it, I wanted it to continue so that I could know what happened, there was no explanation, no understanding of what was happening , it’s not like it ended on a cliffhanger, it just ended! I get that the author may be intending a sequel, I understand that , but I was left feeling quite bereft and hugely disappointed. In short I felt cheated!

The second installment begins a year after the first story. I wasn't really happy with the leap from happy first ending to sad second beginning. Overall an okay story, and we tie up one plot point but much is left hanging for book three (a pet peeve). I will certainly read the third though, because as a whole I've enjoyed the characters and story.

I love Hannah Lynns books, they are always everything I want and need, great characters, a fab story, drama, romance, a community of supporting characters I’d love as my own neighbours. I have read the previous book so wasn’t lost at all, do Ithink you could read as a stand-alone, probably but why would you want to miss out on the previous fabulous story. Bex and Duncan I adore , just love them so much but can’t say anything without spoilers, just that you need to read this book, especially if you’ve read the first or any other Hannah Lynn books. They never disappoint

Even though I hadn't read the first book in the series, I still enjoyed the story and I soon understood what was going on. This was such an enjoyable and heartwarming read, I couldn't put it down and I read it in one sitting. There was a great cast of characters and I loved the place settings in the story. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.
