This small-town romance delivers sparks from the very first page, pairing a fallen football star with a fierce ranch hand who refuses to let him coast. The chemistry between Dylan and Izzy is electric, their banter both sharp and tender, and the backdrop of wide-open fields and late-night stables adds the perfect touch of intimacy. A story about resilience, trust, and finding love where you least expect it—it’s a swoony, emotional ride that will leave you smiling long after the last page.

Bella North can’t write a bad book
when I first read ‘score to settle’, I fell in love with Bella Norths writing and I just knew I had to read everything that she wrote. So, when I saw that she announced ‘game over’, I knew I had to read it and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I need a Dylan Sullivan in my life right now, that man is the biggest green flag, i’m so sad that he’s fictional.
I don’t think I’ve ever cried at the first chapter of a book before so I guess I can now tick that off of my list. I first met Dylan in ‘score to settle’ and I knew from the moment that I first saw him that I would end up falling in love with him. I love a good grumpy mmc and Dylan Sullivan was the perfect fit. ‘Game over’ had me in my feels, the angst, the tension, the romance!!! Wow!!! The growth both Dylan and Izzy had throughout this book was so well written, watching them both gradually let their walls down for each other. The book was so homey, both characters were super likeable and you really got to understand both of them throughout the book.
Special mention to the icon Mad, may she continue to terrorise Dylan and Izzy at family meals. Watching Dylan and Mad together was the cutest thing ever, my heart felt like it was going to explode.
I think Game Over may be one of my favourite reads this year and i really hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Bella North yet again did an incredible job!

Game Over is the second book in the Oakwood Ranch series, but I hadn't read the first book and I found it completely accessible coming into the series here. It introduced the reader to the main family and hinted at the events of book one quite naturally.
Game Over focuses on Dylan, an ex NFL player who drunkenly buys 18 horses one night, and Izzy, the ranch hand who was included in the deal along with the horses! Izzy and her daughter Madison were the heart of this story and it's always amazing to see a single parent and their child find a partner and a family to love them. Game Over was a cute and easy read that I binged in one night. It has a few spicy scenes and a late third act breakup, but that seemed a bit inevitable based on the characters' journeys.
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley but this is my voluntary and honest review.

Game Over is a heartfelt romance about Dylan, a former football player trying to figure out who he is after his career ends, and Izzy, a single mom working on the ranch where Dylan’s drunken horse purchase lands him. Their relationship is a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers story filled with emotion, family bonds, and second chances. Izzy’s daughter quickly connects with Dylan, adding warmth to the story, while both characters work through pain and insecurities that make their journey feel real and relatable. A quick, engaging read that leaves you rooting for them.

I don't know where to start with this book! It is the perfect second book to the Oakwood ranch series! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Another beautifully written, funny, romantic book written by Bella north! I had the privilege of arc reading the first book and was so excited to be able to read this book as well! This book had me hooked from the start! It had me giggling in parts and yelling at the book in others because of things the MMC Dylan and FMC Izzy did. Dylan is your typical grumpy ex-footballer/cowboy and Izzy is your typical country horse loving girl! both with there own issues but finally work them out towards the end. I love Maddison Izzy's daughter, she is funny and a very cheeky girl who knows what she wants and does everything she can to make it happen. I love how supportive Dylan's family is throughout the book and how we see Harper and Jake from the first book finally get married!
Thank you Bella north and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
