The fact that this was written by two authors (sisters) explains the at times, disjointed aspects of this work. It is Paris, 1889 - the Eiffel Tower is newly built, when three seemingly unrelated deaths pique the interest of bookseller Victor Legris.

I was trying to expanding my crime fiction horizons but reading novels from different countries to get their "take" on crime - did it measure up to what I know and love - in this instance not quite. But as there are twelve books in the series, one hopes that there is some unity and fluidity in the storytelling, moving forward.
