There wasn't anything noticeably wrong with this novel; it just wasn't for me. I had a hard time connecting with the heroine as she seemed a little wishy-washy to me.

I really wanted to like this one but I just did not care for it. I found a hard time getting lost in to the story, I found myself not being able to focus or connecting with the characters. It was just okay for me.

Friends to lovers trope is my absolute catnip and was what reeled me into this book. Slap that ontop of it being an erotic romance (or is it friends to lovers on top of erotic romance?) Puns aside, this was one hot as F (fire) read. This of course is book 1 in a novella series so it leaves you...edging and wanting more if you know what I mean. Do with that what you will and enjoy the read.

I had this book on my reader for a long time but it never was the right moment to get to it, in the meantime I’ve read and appreciated all Louise Bay’s works, but yesterday it seemed it called me so I turned the first page and finished it in a few hours.

Louis Bay words gave me all the comfort and the joy I did need and while I was reading I felt like I was reunites with some old lost friends.

I've really enjoyed to follow Ashleigh and Luke’s journey from friends to lovers, it was’t easy for them to risk their friendship for something so unpredictable like love but their trust in each other helped them to take that jump.

I thoroughly recommend it if you want a nice spicy read.

Louise Bay is a completely new author to me, but I really like her writing style. The characters are great and to have a short novella where it goes from childhood to adults is a refreshing change, I loved Ashleigh and Luke’s characters, and the spin on the brothers best friend is perfect.

Even though it goes against my “no series books” rule, If you can read them as a box set, I would suggest that, as I get very impatient for the next installment.

Overall a good start to the series.

A friend to lovers story with a slightly different twist. The 3-parter showcased the evolving relationship between Ashleigh and Jake with friends and family as a backdrop. I like the complicated route that they took but it did get a little bit exasperating and annoying at junctions when Ashleigh's doubts became a little too front and center...and when Jake became too "Mr. Relationship" after being the total opposite in his previous relationships. Otherwise, a good read.

I got this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It was called The Calling but included the same set. This book was awesome. This is my second book by Ms. Bay and she has become one of my favorite authors. I love that her books are longer, she gives us a great character story and wonderful plot. I love Luke and Ash’s story. I love their interactions with Haven, Jake and Beth as well as the interactions with Richard, Emma and Fiona. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this book and the author. Five stars don’t seem enough.

Ashleigh and Luke was a friends to lovers story and she has been pining for him for 15 years! My only complaint about this story was that she spent the majority of her life wanting to be with him and it all was nicely packaged up in just a few short days. Otherwise - I loved being able to read and enjoy this story in one main book rather than 3 shorter novellas.
