A true espionage thriller in every sense of the word! Mark Wolfe is a retired spy working in recruitment for MI6 who now lives a quiet life as a husband and father with two grown up children. When his daughter decides to follow him into his dangerous profession, he is not happy but understands how she will be well suited to such a career.
However when certain things start to happen and it affects his family, Mark is forced to go back into the field to try and sort matters out before it’s too late.
This is a book with a fast paced plot which will appeal to spy thriller fans. There is double cross after double cross and it is hard to know who is telling the truth. Mark makes a great hero, showing he still retains his skills despite his age but he also reveals a human side which makes him more empathetic than the usual action man agent.
The ending took my breath away and was totally unexpected.
I definitely recommend this novel and I will certainly be looking out for the next book in what appears to be a very promising new series.
Thank to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.
