A good gruesome read. I did find it a little difficult to get into and a few too many characters to follow. Once I got into the story I did enjoy it.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.

This was certainly not someone with a weak stomach. Graphic details and really creepy at times, but a page turner, nonetheless. I definitely will read the next book in the series.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK!

This book did come with a warning "not for the faint- hearted " so I knew it was going to be gory !Apart from the gore ,torture and serial killings, I thought this book was a very good read .Told in the past and present I think really this book is about revenge .The main characters Adrian and Imogen are very likeable both having been let down in the past ,they are now working as a team on a series of murders .The pace is fast ,you don't know who to trust and the last few chapters had me practically holding my breath.I am looking forward to reading more in this series .Many thanks to the Publisher ,the Author and NetGalley for my review copy in exchange for an honest review .

I really wasn't sure what to make of this novel. It is quite a good story but in some ways it felt very disjointed. It was almost as though it had been written by two people. The content is pretty gruesome and the nature of the murders didn't really fit with the character of the guilty party. They just didn't hang together. The rationale for the historic crimes for which retribution was being taken also didn't really cut the mustard.. All the characters were flawed which is ok but that was a heck of a lot of damaged people in one place.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

A solid crime thriller, based in a school. It has bite, very dark and twisted with a lot of gruesome deaths. I enjoyed the story, a lot of characters POV and the time frames jump from past to present, but doesn't get too distracting. The book took a detour very early on and went into a completely different direction than what I was expecting. A nice amount of suspense to keep the plot ticking and I found the ending satisfying.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon for a copy of the book in exchange for a fair review.

Someone is killing people from a school with dark secrets. First, Jeffrey Stone is murdered, then Kevin, and the police don't realized that they are tied together until the fourth one is murdered. Adrian and his part Imogen are racing against time to figure out what is connecting the victims and who the murderer could be.

Adrian has a lot riding on this as his son attends the school that links all of the victims so far, and he wonders if his son might end up in danger. Meanwhile, Abbey has finally found a good man, which she deserves after her horrible time at the university.

Can Adrian unravel it all? Or will he find that these crimes are punishments well deserved?

I know this is so vague even for me, but it was told from several points of views and present and flashbacks with Abbey so it made a little confusing. Especially since it didn't become clear until near the end what Abbey had to do with any of it. I will say the plot and the story was compelling and I think it would have been better without all the various pov's.

I will say that I liked Adrian and Imogen quite a bit and wish I had read more from their point of view. Well really mostly it was Adrian's point of view and we get to see Imogen through his eyes. This does contain a lot violence, rape and isn't an easy read. However, it does make you think, and make you question some things.

Really liked this book - characters interesting enough to keep you hooked! Quite gruesome crimes but made me interested enough to by some others in the series!

WARNING: Most definitely not for the faint-hearted!

Look at that nice book cover. And then read that statement. As a fan of horror I took it as a challenge. And oh my goodness was it challenging.

We start with The Teacher, who ends up receiving a package which he understands the meaning of very well. His time is up. The sins of the past have come back to collect justice.

This one is told from many points of view. All of the characters are flawed in some way. From abuse, torture, personal failures. All damaged in some way. Even the two detectives thrown together but not allowed total access to the cases. And yes, cases. Someone has an agenda. While it seems unlikely these victims had anything in common besides going to the same school, they also shared some very unsavory habits.

Grey and Miles run into so many roadblocks and begin to feel that something isn't right at the station. Not knowing who to trust, they run their own investigation and when they finally find the killer, will they even arrest him?

This was full of horrible abuses on children, adults and just all around horrific ways to die. Normally I am all over horror, but not this kind. Not with children and not quite so calmly graphic. Unfortunately in the tit for tat story, it had to be this way. A true eye for an eye.

Would I read it again? No. Would I recommend it? No.

This one wasn't for me, I'm afraid. Too graphically gruesome. Which isn't the author's fault - I should have heeded the warning on the cover.

I didn't finish it, but what I did read was well written so I'm giving this a three. However I'm left feeling cheated as I suspect I've missed out on a good story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this in return for an honest review.

This book was absolutely gripping. It goes to show you never know what a person has experienced in their life and how it has affected them. Although, dark and interesting, it will inspire you to pay attention to self and others. Great writing and I could really feel the emotions of the characters. I highly recommend reading this book with the exception of those who are easily triggered into action.

I have had this book to read for a while and sat down this weekend and decided to read it. Well I couldn't put it down! I loved the pace, the story and the characters and the writing style I thought was excellent. Some of the descriptions used were quite graphic at times but I think the book needed them to set it apart from others in the same genre. Really enjoyed it - 5 stars from me
