I’ve read other dark thrillers by this author and they’ve all been compelling reads with many twists.
This book is no exception, exceptionally twisty with many suspects! I certainly didn’t guess the outcome.
Two families go on a holiday to a lakeside resort, Courtney, her husband Elliot and their 10 year old daughter Cassie as well as Courtney’s brother Nolan and his wife and 3 children.
The story is told from Courtney’s point of view and Reese, Nolan’s teenage daughter’s
There is a terrible in incident in one of the cottages the family is staying at and Reese goes missing. Courtney tries to find her, hoping her niece is not responsible for what has happened.
Reese relates her story from the time the families arrive at the hotel but her narrative stops before the awful events.
There are many suspects and a lot of tension! The novel is very cleverly constructed so the reader does not know who has committed the crimes till the very end where there are several big reveals.
I won’t say too much as it would spoil the enjoyment but suffice it to say this book certainly kept me on my toes!
I definitely recommend if you like noir thrillers!
