I just couldn’t get into this book at all, despite being intrigued by the premise. Zubaida is a paleontologist caught between the worlds of her upbringing/family and her education. She’s also caught between two men, and discovers the truth about her family. The writing is lyrical, but I think the use of 2nd person (Zubaida is ‘speaking’ to the man she loves throughout, was what put me off the most.
