I’ve been following the Sandra Vos books from the beginning - she is a negotiator for the FBI and the first two books were very enjoyable.
In this one, Sandra is called to negotiate with a hostage taker who is holding a rich family in their mansion-the Hansons - mother, father and two children.
As Sandra speaks to the man holding them it becomes clear that his actions are rooted in the past and he wants a wrong righted by the police.
Sandra’s partner Eric begins to investigate the 33 year old case where he discovers that some people he personally knows are involved.
I really liked the way this novel moved at a fast pace and it was particularly interesting to see how Sandra’s mind worked when she was negotiating. The psychology of how she was able to get the outcome she wanted was fascinating. I’m sure the author has done a lot of research to achieve this level of authenticity.
I definitely recommend “Nowhere to Hide” and the previous two books in the series.
