Told through multiple POVs and shifting past/present timelines, this slow burn thriller weaves together themes of feminism, power, privilege, and what happens when justice fails the people who need it most.
I’ll admit, the opening felt a little overwhelming at times I found myself wishing for clearer chapter headings to help ground the timeline shifts and different voices. But once everything started clicking into place, I was completely invested.
I especially loved the underlying themes on the Me Too movement and how the story explores the protection of men with money, fame, and influence, it’s so relevant today. The slower pacing really works in building tension, and the ending pulls everything together in a satisfying way.
If you love character driven thrillers featuring complex women, dark Hollywood settings, morally grey choices, and sharp social commentary, this is absolutely worth picking up.
