It has been a while since I read one of this author’s books but he certainly hadn’t lost any of his mojo!
From the moment I picked up “No One is Safe” I couldn’t put it down which was excellent news as it entertained me on a transatlantic flight and a 4 hour train journey!!
It was an adrenaline fuelled fast paced read from the word go.
Luke, his wife, Sofia and his son Max are on a walking trip in Scotland when Max and Sofia are kidnapped and Luke is told to follow instructions or they will be killed.
He believes the kidnappers are serious as just before the attack on his family they had come across a dead girl in a shallow grave.
Meanwhile Fish, a semi bent cop who narrates parts of the plot, is on the trail of kidnappers who have snatched a young woman.
As the two strands of the story come together via the appearance of Tina Boyd erstwhile heroine of Simon Kernick’s novels - this book became hard to put down.
For me it was an excellent read anc the icing on the cake was the appearance of my local tube station two thirds of the way into the novel! In my opinion Luke would be lucky to find a train on the Piccadilly line in his time of need!!!!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for my advance copy.
