The 10yr old me thought this was great, the adult me loved Apollo's self worth and funny asides as he gets used to being mortal. Percy Jackson appears briefly but this is the first in a trilogy of Apollo and his quest to get his Dad to make him a God again after that mistake with Gaia and the titans.

Witty and on form with new baddies to conquer, this series is great for Roman and Greek god knowledge with lots of adventure thrown in. I loved it.

Zeus has turned Apollo into a mortal human for the third time. This time Apollo’s going to need a long hard look at himself. Apollo’s egotistical ways have allowed chaos to ensue on Earth and he’s not even noticed...

I think this may be one of my favourite Rick Riordan books. I’ve not read all of the Camp Half-Blood books but I don’t think you need to in order to appreciate this book.

There aren’t many books I tend to read which are written in first person. It’s quite a refreshing change and Riordan executes this perfectly. It really allows for strong character development and makes the readier empathise far more with Apollo.

When Apollo crash lands to Earth in human form he doesn’t think things can get much worse. For a start, he has acne! The humour at this realisation is hilarious and thoroughly entertaining.

I definitely want to read more in this series. I thoroughly recommend giving this a read.

Full of humour, packed with action...but genuinely entertaining also.

This continues in the same vane as the Percy Jackson series - lots of exciting and tense moments as the 'hero', Apollo tries to regain his deity. I'm sure Percy Jackson fans will love it.

I loved, loved, loved this book.
I love Rick Riordan's style of writing and all his books have been action packed. From the first page I was enthralled by this story and couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

An interesting, enjoyable and action-packed mythology adventure. It's becoming difficult to find new things to say about Rick Riordan's books, familiar and ever-so-slightly formulaic as they are, but younger readers who love series or linked fiction will gobble this up. Riordan's dialogue-heavy, punchy style can be a little repetitive, but the increasing expanse and diversity of his characters are worth noting.
