Not for me. The writing was too whimsical and too confusing -the author couldn't decide on a tone for the book it seems. I've not read any of the author's other work, but from what I can tell from other reviewers this one is quite the departure!

Interesting and intriguing book. The characters were well formed and easy to engage with. Will look forward to reading other works by this author.

This one is a strange fairytale. Written beautifully, enriched by the pearls of deep understanding of the moves of the human hearts and graced with the many descriptions of the beauty around us and the power of nature. Full of the grace of the poor people living in the poor land - and how enriched are by the abundance of community which this poor life (may) bring.
Yet - there is a certain blandness within this work about the war between the elves and the building of the bridges with the world of humans. All the beauty and I was not able to connect even a bit.

I enjoy this! I thought the writing gave the setting so much more whimsy. It was very atmospheric writing and the story was so beautiful and beautifully written. It was so easy to get lost in this world and to get caught up in the story that was unfolding! The descriptions of the world and of the nature in this was so poetic and so gorgeously written, and so easy to imagine.

Couldn't finish this book, I really tried but I guess it wasn't my cup of tea.
