Myfanwy Thomas is still my favourite character. I found it a little harder to get into than the Rook but it was just as enjoyable and what a twist near the end, felt sorry for Odette.

I'm torn between saying that the first one was clearly better or, if it was the wait that made it look better and the expectations were too high to meet.

Truth is.. Stiletto didn't sweep me off my feet as The Rook did. Not that is a bad book, it isn't. It has a solid plot, and good characterization as it was expected... but there was something about the Rook that Stiletto lacks. Even if I can't put my finger in what it is.
