I'm a big supporter of any books that try to shed light on the people who work behind the scenes of American politics - not because they're all suspicious characters, but because it's essential than everyone with an interest understands how US politics and government works. Sometimes, this means lobbyists dictating policy (in return for campaign contributions, etc.), in other instances it's to offer valuable insight and research that officials have no time (or funds) to conduct themselves.

Definitely recommend this.
