Great idea for a book and really well executed. A thoroughly good read. Highly recommended. .

I love his writing, his stories; so quiet but powerful; snapshots of underrated lives. I'd read the phone book if he wrote it.

I came to French novelist Antoine Laurain' via his sparkling delightful, The Red Notebook. However, I was disappointed in this one about middle-aged doctor Alain Massoulier has received a life-changing letter—thirty-three years too late. While enjoyable, and entertaining, I didn't find it as charming and memorable as The Red Notebook. Still, a good read - and a charming picture of charming Paris emerges from his pen, as before.
