I love Samantha Young, her Dublin series is one of the best series I have ever read, and hero was not far behind, so it hurts me to say that I didn't enjoy this as much, it took me while to get into it and when I did, I found myself putting it down, (which is something I hardly do with her books) so I always had to gear myself back up to read it. I did enjoy the story and it was an enjoyable read, it just took me longer to get into and I wasn't to excited to pick it back up (I was in a book slump so that may have contributed to it)

A new Samantha Young series? YES PLEASE!!!

Having devoured and adored the characters from her On Dublin Street series as well as the standalone Hero I was excited to discover a series set in Delaware.

The cover screams serenity and calm. The blurb intrigued me so when I had the opportunity to read it, I took it.

The first part of the book, to me, is the slowest moving start to a story Samantha has written. It was peaceful, she describes such an idyllic and sleepy town on the build up to the busier tourist season. I could picture myself sitting on the balcony of an inn watching out over the water hearing the waves coming in against the shore. I could see the boardwalk and imagine the shops and businesses down there.

I wanted so badly to be *in* the book and was grateful for the images Samantha was describing so I could sit curled up in an armchair next to Jessica in Emery's book/coffee shop reading THIS story.

Naturally, the hero, Cooper, made me swoon. He had been burned before and wasn't about to let it happen again. But he couldn't ignore his immediate reaction to this new person in town. He was intrigued and before long he was in deep.

They both came together with pasts they'd rather forget. Do they let it potentially ruin what could be the best thing they've ever experienced? Or can they get passed their baggage and move forward lighter and together?

Of course I'm not about to tell you that!

The last 30% of the book had me on tenterhooks, I couldn't call it and am so excited for what comes next in the town of Hartwell and its inhabitants.

4 out of 5 stars.

I was really, really excited when I received an email from the UK publisher about being on the UK Blog Tour and reviewing this book! I'm a big fan of this author's other contemporary books and I was eagerly anticipating this book's release, so I of course said yes! I'm so happy I did say yes because I loved this book! I was desperate to read it after I read the synopsis and saw the cover, and I can say that it definitely lived up to the high expectations that I had for it! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it seemed to have a different feel to it than a lot of other contemporary books that I've read! The plot also had a lot in it and it kept me interested and wanting to read on! I also loved the sexual tension between the two main characters and that there were some seriously hot scenes too! I just completely adored the plot and I loved absolutely everything about it! The ending was very beautiful too! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Jessica was the main female character, and Jessica was someone who was very sweet and very kind, but had a lot of sadness in her life at the same time! She didn't have family surrounding her and she worked in a potentially dangerous job! Jessica also wasn't happy with her life, but it took some convincing for her to realise this! My heart also went out to Jessica in this book because she had been through a lot and she lost a lot of people in her life in such a short space of time! Jessica was such a strong character though and I also connected with her all the way through this book! Cooper was the main male character and he was seriously hot! Cooper was also a character that really intrigued me when he was first introduced and I wanted to know more about him! Cooper had also had a rough life, and he had been through things that made it had for him to trust people and let people in! He had also lost people that he was very close to and this had a big impact on him too! I felt very sorry for Cooper in this book because of what he had been through, but he was such an amazing guy and I loved the way he was with Jessica! He was protective of her and it was easy to see that he had deep feelings for her! I also really enjoyed that this book was written from both Jessica and Cooper's point of views! I didn't understand why Cooper's point of view was in third person and Jessica's was in first person, but I was just really happy that it was co-written lol! It helped me connect more with both characters and allowed for more to happen in the plot! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series, especially for who the main characters are going to be! These two characters were secondary characters in this book, so I can't wait to read their story! I'm definitely going to be on pins and needles waiting for it to release next year! The UK cover for this book suits it perfectly! I love it a lot and I love that the US cover isn't hugely different to it because I'm a big fan of the US cover too! Big thank you to Piatkus for an ARC of The One Real Thing and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!
