Wow, what an inspiring read. I loved this from start to finish and found this to be exactly my humour. Cannot wait to see what else the author has in store.

In this romcom, you get to follow Everly as she literally travels the world in an attempt to find a place she feels at home and people she feels comfortable with. She travels from London to Switzerland, Bermuda to Bali and you get to go along with her. The descriptions of Bermuda and Bali bring the places alive.

The best part of the book for me was the journey which Everly went on in her quest to find a place she felt at home. She soon tires of the party lifestyle and you get to see that there are other things which motivate her and which give her fulfilment. Along the way, she meets a variety of characters and shows that she can see through the fakes and seeks out those who are sincere.

If you want a story which literally offers you escapism, this is the one.

In short: Foreign climes offer a whole range of possibilites.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book.

If you're looking for a novel which points you in the direction of looking at the bigger picture; 'Passport to Happiness' is definitely the one to choose. Everly feels a bit....stuck. Her life feels like one monotonous roundabout, and she no longer feels happy with what her life throws at her. With Tinder spitting out dates which find Everly running for the hills instead of their bedroom, the only ties she has is with her job, and her sister.

I could see why Everly wanted a bit more action in her life, and I could understand her reasons for wanting her life to change. I thought her spontaneity was very endearing and clearly worked for her in regards to learning to find herself, however, I couldn't help but feel a little bit irritated by the character herself.

Firstly, after her spontaneous visits to Switzerland and Bermuda, Everly was extremely worried about her finances. She had checked how much money she had to her name and knew she had to curb her spending and earn a bit more. What does she do? She goes and books an impulsive flight to Bali on her way back to London from Bermuda. Am I missing something? Hell, if I had money in my pocket to burn, I would be impulsive as well, however she clearly admitted she needed to be careful, and I know for a fact that flights to Bali do not cost mere pocket money!

Secondly, for someone who wanted to give back to the communities she visited, she was quite a selfish person. I know she needed to find herself, and I know that she needed to heal from the heartbreak which came her way back in London, and whilst she was on her travels, but I honestly didn't realise that it would be Everly's way or the highway. At least, that was the impression I gave.

By the way, all the above is my opinion on the character and not my opinion of the authors story telling....just wanted to clarify that before anyone thought I was being rude. I'm not!

Aside from my irks with Everly, I enjoyed the concept of the storyline and the true friendships she formed on her travels. I thought that Carrie Stone delivered the importance of being at one with yourself, in a very poignant manner. It certainly made me think of my own outlook to certain situations, I must admit.

At times I did feel as though the overall storyline was a bit patchy, as though the story had jumped ahead and I had missed bits. I hadn't, but one minute Everly was in Bali, in her new accommodation, and then the next she was getting ready for an interview which just came out of nowhere. Good on her though for grabbing life by the you know what's!

As for the descriptions about Bali and Bermuda - wow, wow, wow! I felt as though I was standing at the top of the trek, looking out at the view. Beautiful writing. I was definitely under the spell of the story then!

'Passport to Happiness' is a fun, lighthearted read with characters you will be remembering for a while. Personally, my favourite has got to be Panda - how could it not? Absolute legend.

This cute, feel good chick-lit touches on things much deeper than just a light summer read. There are poignant and insightful tales woven together around the importance of volunteering and helping animals and others in need. However, I found the characters that surround the main protagonist deplorable. From her sister to her friends, they were a real disappointing bunch so I found it harder to connect to the main character as I just wanted to give her a good shake.

Synopsis
Passport to Happiness
An inspiring and escapist read – Eat, Pray, Love meets Bridget Jones!

What a light hearted, inspirational story about searching for your true destination of life!

Passport to Happiness is a good written novel with well-developed characters. Everly feels herself not quite good at work and being lonely after a long term relationship isn't not making it any better. Impulsive, she decides to go on an amazing adventure. The journey to find out what she really cares for and what her true dreams are brings her to wonderful destinations and different situations. From Zurich to Bermuda and finally Bali Everly makes friends and is having great experiences. First the conversations with Amy, her little sister, who still is in England, are filled with Everly's thoughts of being alone unhappy. At the end things happen and she realize she is not only looking for true happiness. Even though one day she realizes she has to choose to follow her heart. Everly learns that even the place is beautiful or you have materialistic things, that is not what is giving you a purpose. No, it is following your path of life, with the right people around you, that makes your day.

Everly discovers she is loving travelling and meeting new people and adventures but her true fulfillment for her soul is about finding peace, doing voluntary jobs and finding love for the long-term.

I truly loved this story about self-fulfilling and choosing the journey you want to take and not to follow what the other expected. Everly is in the beginning sometimes making me frown my furebraws but later in the story I meet the real Everly and I adored her. The scenery of the different locations are wonderful. Between the lines I got subtle messages when I meet the people, who is Everly sharing her time with, with their personalities and thoughts about life.

Passport to happiness is a fantastic and relaxing read about making the right choices in your life that fulfill you with happiness.

Wow! Every so often you put down a book and upon reflecting on it you discover it just made your heart feel happy. This is how I felt after reading this book. Carrie Stone managed to create a story of the struggles of trying to feel fulfilled in life that I am sure we can all relate to. She managed to do this is a lighthearted way that was highly entertaining.

Everly Carter had a life changing realization during another disappointing first date, much thanks to an internet dating site. She realized that this is not the life she signed up for. That her life is not reflecting the girl she is in her soul. She envisioned a much different self when she thought about what her thirties would be like. That is when she headed to the restroom, booked herself a spontaneous flight to Switzerland from the bathroom stall and ditched her loser blind date. How is that for spontaneous?!

We find ourselves traveling with Everly to Switzerland, Bermuda and Bali as she searches for a deep down self fulfillment and happiness. Each destination she discovers something new about herself. She slowly begins to realize that it is not about your physical surroundings and material things that truly bring happiness, it is what fills your heart up and makes you feel whole. For Everly it was her love of animals and volunteering to help these animals. She made friends with similar interests and began to realize that her "party friends" just did not fill that void in her life.

I loved this book and the journey that Everly took. I feel that everyone goes through something very similar in their life. Of course we did not all get to travel to the exotic destinations that Everly did but we still go through our own journey to find what fulfills us in life.

This book put a smile on my face! I enjoyed it so much. Thank you so much to Harper Impulse for this ARC!

4.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It's a different type of romance from what I've used to read and I liked the heroine more than anything because she's reliable and her struggles are more and more similar with the women of our day that want to put her carrier before marriage but obviously comes a time when you want to change something in your life and if an opportunity appears and you're strong enough, you'll take the chance and find out that there's much more to this life than you thought your comfortable with.
I liked the description of the settings and I seen myself next to Everly. She grows from the beginning of the book til the end and I was happy to see that she decided to say no and really go for what she wants.
Will definitely read more from the author

Fun, exotic and escapist, it is absolutely impossible not to fall under the spell of Carrie Stone’s fabulous novel, Passport to Happiness.

Boredom is an emotion which Everly Carter has become increasingly familiar with. Her job is mind-numbingly tedious, her single status is driving her round the bend and she is sick to the back teeth of the stomach-churning collection of losers and rats she comes up against on Tinder. This was not the life Everly thought she would be leading. She was meant to be a leading a life full of excitement, fun and glamour, but the reality has sadly not matched up to the fantasy. Everly is desperate for some much-needed adventure, so she finally decides to do something about it. In a spontaneous moment of bravery – aided by a one cocktail too many – she books a holiday alone. Some time by herself is just what she needs to figure out what she is going to do next, but little does Everly realise that her mundane world is going to be turned on its head!

Everly’s search for fulfillment and contentment ends up taking her all over the world. From the sunny climes of Bermuda to picturesque villages in Switzerland, Everly’s horizons and vistas widen with each new country she visits. However, despite all of these wonderful experiences which she is having, Everly cannot help but feel that there is still something missing from her life. Will she ever manage to fill the emptiness inside her? Can she find that elusive something which she has been searching for for so long? Or are there going to be further surprises in store for her on her travels?

Will Everly finally realize that happiness can only be within reach if she is finds it within herself? Or will she continue be condemned to a lifetime of disappointment and regret?

Passport to Happiness is a wonderful read packed with humour, pathos, charm and heart. Carrie Stone has written a fantastic novel about taking chances and finding yourself that touches the heart and effortlessly tickles the funny bones. Everly Carter is a terrific heroine in the same class of Becky Bloomwood and Bridget Jones. Intelligent, kooky and hilarious, Everly is the kind of girl you’d love to have as a best friend and put the world to rights with over a couple of glasses of wine.

A terrific read I highly recommend, Carrie Stone’s Passport to Happiness is the next best thing to an exotic holiday this summer.

I think we all had the same feeling sometimes. We wonder if this is the life we really want, but what is the alternative?

Well, I honestly think that there are a lot of things you can do but you have to take a chance even though you don't know if this was the right move. Sometimes you will find happiness straight away or at least you think you did. Sometimes you have to look further elsewhere.

There are two choices : you stay and complain about your boring life or you go and go for something completely out of your league.

The title can be taken literarly or figuratively. In this case the main character Everly really needs a passport to find her happily ever after.

The author took us from Londen to Switzerland, Bermuda and Bali. Apart from London those are destinations I don't know a lot about because I would never travel there myself, but it was nice to see them through the eyes of Everly.

A very enjoyable story that made me long for sunny beaches.  4 stars.

Thank you, Carrie Stone and Rachel's Random Resources.

I'm honoured today to be opening the tour for this wonderful and uplifting book about being lost and then found.

Everly is bored and stuck in a rut and tentatively decides to take a solo holiday.  It is here that she makes a decision to add some spark back into her life and applies for a teaching job in Bermuda where her best friend lives.  Everly sets out on a journey of self discovery, finding out just she does, and doesn't want to be.

Although this book makes a perfect holiday read in the sunshine, it was also great for brightening up a rainy day on the sofa.

The character of Everly was really easy to relate to.  I think all of us have been in this position before in our lives and would love nothing more than to up-sticks and travel for new experiences and to recover a spark we have lost.  It was a complete pleasure to travel her journey alongside her and experience her personal dilemmas and triumphs.

Carrie Stone really brings the different settings to life which compliment Everly's journey beautifully.  In her hometown in the UK we see a dull and drab setting and a Everly is in a job she has lost a passion for.  When she travels to Zurich we experience the awe and wonder of a beautiful city for the first time but also the anxiety and naivety of a person stepping out of their comfort zone.  On to Bermuda and Bali and we take every step with Everly as she really begins to discover she has so much to offer and what she truly wants in life.

A perfect read to accompany any type of day.

This is my first time reading a Carrie Stone back and what a comical little read Passport to Happiness was. I was entertianed from the moment the book opened up on Everley's disasterous date with a egotistical bloke. I found that the book was well written and flowed really well.

I loved the idea of this book as I usually enjoy novels that bring other countries into it. I did sometimes wish I could give Everly a good shaking at times as she didn't seem as bright as her character was supposed to be. I didn't feel the novel really came to life until after she left Bermuda as I think it fell short before this. That said, I'm pleased to have read it.

Following Everly’s adventures after a massive decision to leave behind a stable job in England. We follow her to Switzerland, the Caribbean and Bali! A feel good book about how things can easily change and how to find happiness. Such a great read! The imagery of the locations, the tales of love and the people! Could not put it down!

Everly Carter books a holiday - it was a brave move but will she regret her spontaneity or will it be the making of her? We travel with Everly in her pursuit of happiness. An enjoyable, relaxing read which provides some ideal escapism.

This is exactly the kind of light and uplifting story that I wanted to spend an afternoon sitting in the sun - and it didn't disappoint. I really liked the storyline and it was totally relatable to many of us I feel! The characters were great and there were all sorts of emotions on every page. The way each location was described put me right in the pages of the book as if I was there in Bermuda etc with them. Loved it!

Passport to Happiness tells the story of Everly, a young woman unhappy with her personal and professional life. To change things around, she embarks on a fun, action-packed adventure around the world, from the snow-topped mountains of Switzerland to the idyllic, tropical settings of Bermuda and Bali.

On her journey to self-realisation, Everly learns many valuable lessons about self-worth, friendship and love. I enjoyed how she navigated the highs and lows of her adventures. There are many twists and turns and a lovely, satisfying ending full of hope. I was simply annoyed by some characters like silly Tilly with whom Everly has to put up. But overall, they all serve a purpose and the novel conveys several profound messages.
