This was a marvelous treat, so much that I want to review it on a professional level. Beautiful, mind-blowing. It was very interesting and kept my attention throughout. I learned so much! What an innovative concept. Simply amazing!

A lovely conversational look at a complicated subject. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Mr. Sandler (and Freud!). As a newbie to the techniques discussed, I thought this book served as an excellent introduction. It removed some of my fears and misconceptions, and made me interested in finding out more on the subject. It was an easy read, well constructed and quite clear. I think it would be a good selection for a book discussion group, as I found myself wanting to discuss and debate some of the content. If you are looking for interesting introductory material, presented well, I recommend this book.

Fresh and engaging, this book features the therapy processes between author and his patients, and his talks with the famous Freud as they mulled over the problems encountered.
I liked that the book is written in a prose format and not the usual hard non-fiction. I found myself deeply absorbed, especially where Freud and the author showed their weaknesses. Of course, it would be too general for those who already had knowledge of the field. For a layman, this is just right.
I love the ending as the author interpreted an age-old fairy tale in psychological terms.
