Everything about this book intrigued me and it had all the ingredients to make it straight to the top of my favourites list. But, somehow, I just couldn't get into it. The writing was ambitious, imaginative, and sometimes beautiful but occasionally the images didn't ring true for me, and so fell flat. I also found it hard to connect with the twins. I haven't given up yet, i imagine it's a book i will return to to see if i have better luck in another mood on another day. But for now, its not for me.
