An interesting take on a concept bringing to light a strong woman striving for the empowerment of not only women, but also how they see themselves. I enjoyed the first person voice of the story...making the story more impactful.

I finished this book in one sitting. I admit, the Baroness did get on my nerves at the beginning with her cold and narcissistic attitude. However, one she had to deal with Mrs. Beaumont, I was rooting for to get one over on that arrogant termagant. And Louis was so weak and I was hoping he would see his mother for what she was. Anyway, since this book ended on a cliff hanger I am looking forward to reading the next one. As this one kept me glued to my seat. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I tore through this book in one sitting, and I’m so conflicted with my emotions. The writing is really well done, and I commend the author for creating a character that I despise. Baroness is a high society seduction expert, who is narcissistic as hell. Her mannerisms and attitude got on my nerves the entire book. I feel like I tore through the pages because I wanted to see if she’d finally get what she deserves.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
It's definitely a good start to the series, once you realise that the main character is not your usual woman. She's driven, selfish and looks amazing; watch out anyone who stands in her way.
There were a few errors which will hopefully be fixed by publication but didn't take away from the story as a whole.
Am hoping that we'll find out more about her past and why she is this way. I'm tentatively predicting she may actually find someone she'll compromise for, but at this stage it doesn't seem likely.

This book was fun from the beginning. She's an expert on love and how to achieve it. If you have an issue with your partner she's the one to come to. She has all the answers and women worship her. You have to read for yourself to experience this book to the fullest.

If you want a quick beach/summer read this is it. I finished it pretty quickly. Despite it being called the "seduction" expert there was very little sex in the book, only a few references here and there. The story surrounds "The Baroness" a 29 year old who specializes in the art of seduction. Clients reach out to her for all sorts of love issues, from suspecting infidelity to finding and keeping a man. After the baroness herself gets engaged, her future mother in law (aka. Satan) sets out on a course to destroy her by getting her clients husbands (from the infidelity cases to go after her. The story is left incomplete, most likely for a sequel, as we do not find out the fate of the Baroness business...

The Seduction Expert is surprisingly good and quite entertaining. The Baroness is this cynical, frank, and most of the time narcissistic bitch. She's anti-heroine, if I may say so. However, one thing is for sure she empowered women who seek her help. You may not like her at first but eventually, as the story progresses, you're going to understand why she's like that. And with that cliffy ending, I'm excited what will happen to her when she takes New York by storm. Saya Lopez Ortega did an amazing job in writing her first book. I enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from this up and coming author.

The self-proclaimed "Baroness" is in the business of catching married men cheating on their wives and ensuring the wife has financially more than what is legally coming to her. She lives for the thrill of making these men squirm with what she has learned and holds over them. When she is introduced, however, to her future mother in law, she finds she has met her match.

This is the first in a series of books on this character who makes "The Devil Wears Prada" villain Miranda Priestly look like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music. I look forward to learning more about this strong female lead in the next book of the series.

The Seduction Expert was a very quick, far-fetched and funny holiday read. The self-styled Baroness is a fixer who makes her fortune separating women from their cheating husbands with the maximum financial settlement possible. She views all men with contempt, and doesn't have much respect for most women either.
The Baroness's strategic love match with dim but rich Louis starts to come apart when she meets Louis's mother Mrs Beaumont. No one is good enough for her Louis, let alone a social climber like the Baroness.
Pretty soon, war is declared, and the Baroness starts to make bad decisions. The scene is set for a speedy sequel as the book ends on a cliffhanger. Three stars.

I felt that this was a very 'tongue in cheek' book. We aren't really meant to take it too seriously, especially the self titled 'Baroness' who is one of the most egotistic characters.
Enjoyable , if a little repetitive.

This is the first book I have read by Ortega and did not know what to expect. The writing is really well done, and she creates a character that you just can not like. I actually hate the baroness. The Seduction Expert is perfect for a quick summer. The story is about a 29 year old who calls her self the "baroness" who specializes in the art of seduction in the hopes of catching others in the act of cheating. The baroness finds herself entangled in a situation with her future mother n law that lends it self to a 2nd book.

It’s an interesting book, I can’t say I liked it I thought the main character is just to much of a bitch hung up on herself, but with that being said it’s well written and does keep your interest maybe because I don’t want a happily ever after....

This was one of the most hyped books and I was excited to get it. However, I cannot say it was my favourite.
It was very unique, with a strong main heroine. She was unlike any other character I have read about (and she did get on my nerves a bit, but it is not a bad thing, as her character was well fleshed out).
The book is funny and definitely makes you think about relationships and women's statues overall.

I didn't know much about this book or this author when I started reading this book. I'm not sure if I even do yet! LOL. I can tell you that I read this book in less than 24 hours because I could not put it down.....I HAD to find out how things ended.

A female, who goes by the name Baroness, has a job where she is referred to as The Seduction Expert. Her job helps females who have any type of problem with a male. It could be to land a certain male or find out if said male is cheating on them. Baroness strongly feels that any man who has wronged any female ought to pay. With all of the strong connections that Baroness has, she can pretty much get any man to do what she wants for any woman. Just when it looks like her life couldn't be any more perfect, a huge wrench is thrown into her plans in the form of her future mother-in-law.

I think Baroness is the female that every female wishes they could be. Man does she have some balls! I loved the way she navigates through life. I really enjoyed the interactions with her staff too. Overall this was a fun book to read. The story ends in a way that makes me think there will more books about Baroness and I cannot wait to see where this ride is going to go.

The Seduction Expert also know as The Baroness is a very strong character in the book. Her personality is one of a narcissistic cold hearted woman. She runs a business helping women either getting the man of their dreams, or married women, catching the cheating husbands. The story goes from there when she gets engaged and then meets her match to the mother in law.
I found this book humorous, and interesting, but I was wondering where it was going.....and I'm not sure if the author knew either. Otherwise I found it easy to ready and entertaining.

General info
Meet the baroness, the woman who solves other women’s marital issues. She has everything planned out to the T. She does everything and anything to reach her dreams and goals. Read this, to see her work through the perfect plan that she simply calls life.

Things I liked
For me, the story itself was quite interesting. It is astonishing that there are people like the baroness in the real world as well. People who are so greedy and need money and fame so much that they will do anything to get it. For me, love is essential for marriage and I simply cannot understand people who will do it just for money.

Things I didn’t like
The character of the Baroness is to me something ugly. Don’t get me wrong, she is a complex and thoroughly thought of character but I just don’t like people like her whether they are fictional or real. I also do not like the way the Baroness treats all the people around her.

Conclusion
All in all, this is an interesting book. I really like the plot and the whole story but I did not like the characters much. At least not the main characters. I still kind of want to read the next book in the series but it will not be essential for me.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about a seduction expert, the "Baroness" who helps women with their love lives. It's a pretty uncommon concept and I was fascinated with where the book could go.

The writing style is really imaginative and clever. The plot is fast-paced and the story engages you.

As the story unfolds you get to know more about the Baroness, who is really well developed. She's definitely the anti-heroine but she does empower the women who seek her help. As the story progresses, you learn more about why the Baroness is the way she is. I really liked how the author executed her character development, with her backstory unfolding as the plot does. I'm excited to hear more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega is honestly something I have never read before and can honesty say I have never come close to a book like this!
"Baroness" runs a busy (and expensive) business in Paris. Supporting the wives of cheating wealthy men, basically taking back what she believes is truly owed to her clients. The Baroness is witty, narcissistic, strong feminist. This book screams "girl power"!! Even when difficulties comes her way, the Baroness is still one step ahead!! This book gives a brilliant insight to the Baroness's world and sets the scene for the next books.

The Baroness is a beautiful mysterious woman. Not much is really known about her, and what is known is probably not real. When wealthy women are having problems with their love lives, or with their husbands, she and her crack staff come in and not only fix the problem, but make sure the problem never existed.

The Baroness is rich beyond belief, but for some reason she can never have enough money. So when her boyfriend of two years, Louis Beaumont, of THE Beaumont's of France finally proposes to her she happily accepts although it was perhaps her seduction expertise which makes it really happen.

And that's when the Baroness' life takes a turn for the worse. Because there is a Beaumont who is not particularly thrilled with this development. Louis's mother!

I enjoyed the easy dialogue and quick wit undertones of the Baroness. I enjoyed reading about what the lifestyles of the rich and famous looks like. I also look forward to the second installment which I have no doubt will be coming.

Thank you #NetGalley #VSP Publishing #Saya Lopez Ortega #The Seduction Expert for the advanced copy. I believe the book will be out on June 26.

The Seduction Expert is the first book in series of same name by Saya Lopez Ortega. One of the most anticipated romance books of 2019 is a stretch but it is entertaining. Just look at the cover! It has the image of a shiny red stiletto over a skyline—very Sex and the City-ish.

Have you ever heard of a seduction expert? Women hire Baroness to take control of their love lives. She handles their single status, relationships, breakups and affairs. She is a superwoman that dedicates her life in service to helping women succeed in seduction. Her network includes a clever attorney and a devoted assistant. But an unexpected encounter flips Baroness' carefully planned personal life and business all around.

I would not characterize this book as plain romance. It is more romance-with-a-twist. Without giving the plot away, it chronicles the business and personal life of Baroness with little detailed focus of her clients. And thank goodness because a couple of the women seemed too desperate, clueless or silly. Baroness' life was far more interesting and the writing just flowed.

It is not often I wish this but...The Seduction Expert could have been 100 pages longer. Kudos to the author for creating a hate-to-love main character and a helluva cliffhanger. It literally ends with "To Be Continued" so come on with it! Give me more of this series please.

Happy Debut, Saya Lopez Ortega. The Seduction Expert is now available.

Thank you to VSP publishing and Net Galley for the ARC of this page turner. I couldn't put this one down. The ruthless heroine, known simply as The Baroness or B, delivers a bitingly humorous inner monologue and commentary on the other characters.

The novel is set in Paris, but it just lacks Parisian flavor, there's nothing French in the setting; it could have just as easily been New York. At one point The Baroness mentions her assistant having a "yard sale". That just doesn't strike me as a Parisian thing at all. Very abrupt ending, but it certainly left me wanting more and eager for the sequel!

The Baroness is a Seduction Expert, but so much more. She helps so many women who need help with their love lives. She teaches what they need to know from now to seduce the one you want, break up with them and investigate their lifes. So much need and she has it all or does she? She is not a heroine and is sometimes the biggest bitch around. I started out hating her. You eventually find out why she is such a nasty person. Someone is causing her problems. Who could it be? Someone with a vendetta or is it personal? I ended you loving the book and can't wait for the next one. It ended in a cliffhanger. I would recommend it highly. The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega is book One in The Seduction Expert Series. The Baroness is a Seduction Expert / Private Eye who is somewhat hard to like when reading her thoughts and action. But she is a strong women who pretty much knows what she wants and how to help in power women. Women want her help with men. Men do not want her to get back at them when they are caught with their hand in someone else's 'cookie jar'.

4.5
Set in Paris, Baroness is at the top of her game. She’s a self-made high society business women who has those around her captivated. Her business is to help women achieve their dreams of love OR revenge for woman with unfaithful husbands, no matter how unscrupulous. She then justifies some of her bad behavior by cloaking it in a mild mockery of feminism. Indeed, her disdain for men and glee at destroying unworthy ones meets no bounds!

Her ultimate goal is to manipulate and scheme her way to power and riches. Her plan is simple. Make her business a success and marry into a ridiculously rich and influential family. Now, with a wildly successful business and a rich finance, she’s well on her way to achieving her goals. However, what she didn’t expect was to encounter someone almost as ruthless as her!

Baroness’s perception of those around her is unerringly accurate; the reality of women scorned, the virgin eagerness to be loved or a simple need for connection is both cliché and oddly insightful. Sometimes uncomfortably so. It’s easy to lose sight of ourselves by becoming lost in those feelings. Though not meant to be entirely altruistic, she does empower the women she helps.

Truly, Baroness is the most likable anti-heroine I’ve come across in a long time. Her vanity and absolute conviction in her own superiority cracked me up. She was so outrageous that I couldn’t help but like her. There’s no shame. And since it’s told from her POV I could really appreciate the musings of her complicated mind; like how she clinically dissects the emotions of those around her.

I loved it!

Wow, The Seduction Expert is a wonderful adventure with incredible writing by Sara Lopez Ortega. Seriously, I feel like I know the Baroness...which is not always a good thing because she can be really really cold. I want to know all about her childhood and her as a younger adult to figure out what made her become the baroness. Fortunately, in The Seduction Expert we get little glimpses of who she used to be and how far she has worked to build her business.

The Baroness does makeovers, dating assists, background checks, follows your husband to find out if he is lying and much much more....and women are willing to pay for it. At times, I just despised the main character because she is ruthless and cold...especially to her fiance. Other times, I found myself cheering her on (girl power!) and wanting her to be victorious.

I recommend running to the bookstore (if you have an actual bookstore, otherwise online) and getting this book for the fun, lighthearted clever writing of an author so talented she has you in love with a character you would normally despise!!! I laughed and gasped at the events in The Seduction Expert and hope for a sequel like right now would be great!!!

The Art of Seduction is a witty, hilarious and entertaining novel. This book is perfect for summer reading, just be prepared to laugh out loud on the beach or at the pool. Told in first person, The Baroness is a feminist, self-empowered high society woman. Her job is part private detective, part therapist, part divorce attorney. Weaved in with her complicated clients, busy social climbing is a love story. If you can call it love, for the Baroness, it is one more step in her social ladder. I found myself at times terrified that someone can think the thoughts she does, but deeply entertained throughout. I wasn’t sure I actually liked her, but was rooting for her!

This book had short chapters, the writing flowed nicely, the main character is strong and without going into to much detail- the ending left you wanting more.

This book is a must read for the summer for sure.

What a fun book to read. The Baroness is a seduction expert, women come to her for advice and to check on their husbands’. Ambitious, devious and highly motivated she builds up a business and reputation that is daunting. She meets a guy she wants to marry. She doesn’t love him, but loves his and his families’ money.......but she doesn’t take into account the lady that could become her future mother in law! It is the 1st book in a series, so it ends abruptly, but with the reader wanting to find out more. A good light read.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book. I can’t decide if I really lik because the main character exudes self confidence or I dislike it because she is a horrible self involved person. I was intrigued as to how it would end and now I’ll have to wait for the next bus ok since I wasn’t expecting a cliff hanger. It’s a good read. Definitely has you on the edge trying to figure out how she’ll keep the upper hand.

The Seduction Expert is a different sort of reading experience. The Baroness is the woman other women turn to when they have been betrayed, hurt, etc. She helps these victims get vindication in whatever way it is needed. I found The Baroness and her business fascinating. She's tough, intelligent, vigilant and beautiful. Her business has made her rich because she's good at what she does. The story is fast, entertaining and clever. My only complaint is the characterization of The Baroness felt a bit overdone. She is very much above everyone and everything, and her character needs to come back down to earth a bit. Otherwise, this is a fun read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

The Baroness is a Seduction Expert. Not a character I particulary warmed too as she was way too conceited and self indulging for my taste.
I think a lot of people will like her character and this book.

This is a really weird book, but weird in a good way. I haven't read a book like it. An interesting concept in female empowerment and suppression.
