Steve Devereux was one of the SAS's most effective operatives, having experienced the killing fields of the Falklands, Mozambique and Northern Ireland.
This is the true story of his strangest assignment yet. Hired to prevent a bloody hit on the streets of London, he finds himself up against men who will stop at nothing to penetrate the most experienced Close Protection Team money could buy.
But he could not have anticipated that he would become embroiled in a web of frantic deception and intrigue, where danger is only a squeeze of the trigger away.

Fast paced, pulsing with authenticity, Devereux has a hyper-macho and gripping narrative voice. A little long-winded in getting started as we didn't perhaps need the army prequel, especially if we've read his previous book about exploits in the SAS - but pretty unputdownable.

The author had a previous career in the SAS and this book gives an interesting insight into his new career of professional bodyguard. It is well written and informative and had a few touches of humour amid the tension. Thanks to Net Galley for my copy. I reviewed on Amazon and Goodreads

Okay, a decent story but nothing that hasn't been written before about a different country from a different ex- so and so. Not taking anything away from the author's bona fides; just saying not very original/
