Flawed / Perfect

Flawed review 

None of us are perfect. Let us not pretend that we are. Let us not be afraid that we're not let us not label others and pretend we are not the same. Let us all know that to be human is to be flawed. Let us learn from every mistake made so that we don't make them again. 

I have so much love for Cecelia Ahern and i have so much love for this book. I have devoured every book published by Cecelia Ahern and loved everyone. I can't express how much I love this book. I was over whelmed with emotion when reading this book. It had me laughing and then in the next moment crying. I had to stop myself on so many occasions from not shouting out loud at Cervan and so many others. 

This is a perfect addition to the destopian fantasy and I hope so much that it gets turned into a movie. As this would be amazing. I have wanted to read this book for so long. But seriously how expensive are books when they first come out now. Man it's ridiculous. Anyway I waited patiently until it came down to a price I could afford. And greedily gobbled it up in one swift sitting. 


This book is everything I hoped it would be and then so much more. 

Imagine that you lived in a world that was governed by the government but inside the government was an organisation called the Guild who made sure that people obeyed by the rules. The rules have to be obeyed. If someone steps out of line, doe or says the wrong thing. You will be punished and you will be ostersized by society. 

Celestine North is the perfect person. A poster child for the Guilds regiment. She has the perfect life. A mother and father who love her and will fight for her fiercely, a sister  and a wonderful grandfather who isn't allowed to see his grandchildren as much as he would like as his daughter the mum doesn't want his radical ideas to brush off on them. Celestine'S mum is a model and her dad works for a news company. Celestine is dating Art who is the son of Cernor who is the head of the guild. She is perfect in every way. 

The flawed are looked down on by society. They have to live a simple life. They have a strict diet to follow with just staple ingredients no luxuries. They have a set curfew. They are not allowed to be seen with more than two flawed people at a time. They are not allowed alcohol. They cannot sit with the perfect people on the bus and have separate seating area. They are seen as the low life scum of the earth. 

One day on the way to school a Celestine is on the bus with Art.  When a flawed man gets on the bus. The man cannot sit down because two perfect people are sat in the seats. One with a broken leg which is fine as they are the most roomy seats with the most leg room so this makes sense. But her friend is sitting with her who is fine. They are busy chatting away. The flawed man is really poorly. Is coughing terribly and cannot catch his breath. Celestine gets up to help the man. Suggests to one of the perfect ladies that she moves (the one without the broken leg) and helps the flawed man to his seat. Within seconds she is dragged away by the prison whistleblowers and taken to high gate castle. Arrested for being seen to have assisted a flawed. 

Once their her trial begins. Celestine is asked by cernor to save his reputation to say that she was trying to get the flawed man away from the perfect people and not assisting or helping him. At first Celestine agrees and is all set to try and get herself off being nastily branded as flawed. Although events happen along the way and things are said that make Celestine rethink the plan. Celestine refuses and stands up for herself and the man she helped. Celestine is found guilty of being flawed to the very core. And is soon turned into the most branded flawed person ever. 

The bit where Celestine gets branded had me so upset and so angry at Cernor. I felt disgusted that society could think that helping a person would deem you as being flawed.  This book really got under my skin in a good way. It had made me want to be a better person and stand up for all those who can't speak for themselves. 

The book then follows the journey of Celestine after being branded as flawed and all the things that happen to her. Many I was cheering her on. A few I was screaming at the injustice. I cried, I laughed, I shouted I rejoiced. I felt a thousand emotions all in one go. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. It is perfect. 

The characters are just fantastic. There are the bad guys that you hate. The wonderful kind hearted heros that you take to your heart and then there are the ones that turn around and surprise you. This book simply has everything you could possibly want and more. 

I simply cannot wait for the next book and am a little gutted that I have to wait until the very end of April next year. The next book couldn't come soon enough for me. 

Wonderful work as always Cecelia. I always love your books and the way you write always makes me feel like I am in the heart of the action. Thank you for writing yet another book that I will go back to time and time again.

Perfect review 

Perfect is the amazing follow up to Flawed and boy it doesn’t disappoint. I absolutely loved reading this series. 

In Perfect Celestine is on the run with Carrick. Trying to not get caught by Judge Craven. But Celestine has the upper hand. She has a secret that could bring down the whole of the Flawed system and in doing so finally bring down Judge craven. She just needs to plan things perfectly and she needs to have her army of Flawed in place to do so. Because without them this crazy plan of hers will never work. 

Cecelia Ahern is a fantastic author. A favourite of mine for quite some time. For someone who writes romance books so well. People were dubious about her writing a dystopian fantasy. But this lady’s talent seems to be endless. Because this series of books is absolutely brilliant. Do not miss out.
