Further praise for Iron Gold

'Fascinating . . . This is one you absolutely will have to read' - The BiblioSanctum

'[Iron Gold] offers us both a continuation of the story Brown has been telling for years right alongside an eye-opening widening of his universe, as though we're watching it all through an exquisitely calibrated telescope that can slide on perfect bearings from one side of the solar system to the other without the slightest blur . . . Mature science fiction existing within the frame of blazing space opera' - NPR Books

'The books are an exhilarating fusion of The Hunger Games, Blade Runner and Dune. Amid a pulse-pounding narrative, they fearlessly tackle major issues like the fragility of democracy and the fallibility of human nature to betray its ideals even when freedom is attained' - Express

'[A] thoughtful blend of action, intrigue, and prosaic human drama' - Publishers Weekly

'Iron Gold offers more of everything we loved about the first three books. Pierce Brown builds upon the foundations of the incredible universe and story he spun in the first trilogy, pivoting on his characters' flaws and fallibility to steer the narrative in unexpected directions. Suffice it to say, readers will be soon be dying to read the next one' - Barnes & Noble

'This book lives up to every expectation I have for Pierce Brown . . . you MUST read this, it will not disappoint!' - The Speculative Herald

'Brown succeeds not only in writing a great book, but adding to the world and Red Rising's mythos . . . The mix of political intrigue, action and thematic journeys elevate this book from a simple sci-fi adventure into something more thought-provoking and rewarding. Fans of Brown and his series should really enjoy this latest addition to Red Rising' - FlickeringMyth.com

Insanely good. Just as wonderful as the original trilogy. My face went through the full range of emojis when reading this book. If you haven't started Red Rising yet, what are you waiting for?

think some of you know my love for Pierce Brown, this book is coming out on January 16th, which is my birthday, but I was lucky to have it in advance and it became a Christmas present.

What has marked me is the feeling than this book is both familiar thanks to Darrow's point of view, and at the same time completely new thanks to the 3 new points of view. Speaking of these characters, I have a big preference for Lysander's story. He is Darrow's age when it all started and the parallel between these two characters is both ingenious and intriguing, I will not say more, but it is seriously well done and I think a lot of reader are going to think like me.

The big question of this book is, what happens when we win the battle, but not the war? Democracy takes time to settle, the enemy is still present although he is weak, intra-people conflicts increase and peace does not settle overnight. I liked the vision of this "after" and the 4 points of view allows us to see the global state of the solar system. The political stakes are also high and the book is a concentrate of adrenaline and turnarounds. In addition, the author makes an intelligent social criticism we can all relate to thanks to the sadly news of the world we are living in.

I know that many wonder if this sequel is up to the task. Sincerely? Yes. We find all the strengths of the first trilogy with a renewal with the new characters, and even if Iron Gold has an introductory side, which is normal, the book has captivated me from beginning to end. So do not be scared and read this, it's worth it.

I bloodydamn love Pierce Brown. Yet again he has delivered with a brilliant new novel.

I've been waiting with excitement for 2 years for this book, and a little apprehension too. The original Red Rising trilogy was just so damn good, I worried that this new one may fail to reach the stratospheric heights he hit with the first three books. My apprehension was misplaced. Iron Gold fits perfectly into the continued story of the Reaper and the Howlers.

Whereas the original trilogy seemed to be billed as YA books, this definitely is a serious adult sci-fi. The action is graphic and intense, the politics is believable and real. I love Pierce Brown's style. He writes in the first person, with short, sharp sentences. Every word has a purpose, there's no waffle, no filler.

The new PoV characters are a great addition this time round, and it helps give an expanded view on the effects of the rising, 10 years after its happened. As with his previous three books, iron Gold is left on yet another cliffhanger. Its looking like Darrow has it all to do again, and i seriously cant wait for Dark Age, whenever it comes out.

Buy it, my goodman!
