Description
With Sam’s world going upside down, Sam starts on a new life driving a truck. And going through a divorcee, Sam was leaving his world behind. Starting from scratch to learn a new career he dreamed of doing. He had to learn the art of driving a big semi, as well as the different parts, and the regulations.
Learning from doing the job of driving, day by day with each new lesson the road would give him.
With all of the problems of learning, will Sam make it as a driver? From running with Doug and the problems that ensued, him getting his first job after being out of a truck for some time. Having flash backs to the little battlefields from school.
Sam finds someone he can relate to within a most unusual way and place. At a nearby greasy spoon, he finds a relation that brings with the hope of a better relationship.
Being a driver for over thirty years plus, I have seen and experienced many different types of dispatchers, companies, and difficulties. I have been from the farthest south of CA to the northern parts of WA. Plus, I have gone east to as far back as NY and down the eastern seaboard to FL. I have pulled flatbeds (skate boards), dry vans (tin cans), and temperature controlled units TCU (reefers). I have traveled in much different weather from sunshine, rain, fog, ice, and snow. I haven’t always chained up my truck when going over the passes with snow and ice. I have learned many of the routes due to repetition. I have truly enjoyed the freedom of the road.
