Demetra Tsavaris-Lecourezos outdoes herself on her latest book, Ready, Set, Opa!in which she takes the reader on a literary adventure to Greece. The book's syntax and rich historical content is impressive. Readers will feel like they have visited Greece themselves after learning about the country's important monuments and other history. This literary project is warm and heartfelt. Ms. Lecourezos is like fine wine, she only gets better with time. - Marcos Papadatos, Editor at Large, Digital Journal

I love learning more about different countries and cultures through creative reality-based fiction, so I really appreciate the way this book displays some of the history and traditions of Greece through a fun family trip with colorful illustrations. My favorite part in this book is the "Young World Travelers" poem in its beginning pages.
The writing style of "Ready, Set, Opa!" is well suited for grade levels 1-6.

This book is perfect for the elementary aged child who is being introduced to Greece. It highlights the geography, language, culture, food, and mythology that many people think of when thinking of Greece. I like that words / language are incorporated into it. As my children are avid ancient history lovers, there was very little here that was new for them. One aspect, as an educator, that I appreciated was the question and answer session at the back of the book.
