WOW!!!! Where do I begin? R.L. Dunn has written one of the best reads for 2017, in my opinion. SECURE DESIRE has it all: action, suspense, mystery, power, money, lies and deceit. But most of all, running the length of the story is a romance that had me clutching at my heart, hoping for the best possible outcome.

A wonderful Romantic Suspense story. The story is well written with enough intrigue, mystery and romance to keep you on the edge of your seat. There is enough romantic tension to keep your attention. I was pulled in from the start and couldn't put it down. the characters are well developed. I really enjoyed reading this book.

SECURE DESIRE by R. L. Dunn is the kind of book that made me forget to keep track of the time or how many pages I had yet to read before I could start writing my review, being a very time-oriented person. This is not only a book of romantic suspense but it also describes a world of many people with power, influence, and money and the people who support the work of the security firm that Ian, hero of the story, and his brother formed and operate. Cassie, heroine of this novel, is a talented, well-trained young woman whose life has been dealt so much life-threatening danger that Ian's firms ends up taking on her safety and medical care after she is attacked and nearly dies more than once.

Ian and Cassie are drawn to each other when they are reintroduced at her adoptive father's home and the growth of their relationship is a delight to read. Cassie has been hurt in terrible ways and the people who caused her pain are a big part of the story, too. That pain is balanced by the good people who surround Cassie and care for her with drive and determination. This book is a great combination of the fight between good and evil and the saving power of deep love. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's writing style and plan to read more of her work; having been offered the option of reading and reviewing another book written by her, I jumped at the opportunity to do so!

A well written book with complex characters with lots of layers. Ian Chase is a former Navy seal who has returned home and is helping his brother run the family security business. He becomes romantically involved with Cassie who has been through many horrible experiences. A romantic suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The plot is very detailed with lots of drama and danger.
