Description

Debut Novel from John Riley. One More Dawn is a gritty, apocalyptic masterpiece which takes everything you thought you knew about the end of the world and magnifies it. Isolating, claustrophobic and fast-paced, the twists keep coming. You’ll be holding your breath with every page turn.

Join Sarah as she tries to uncover the truth of the strange, terrifying new world she’s woken up in. A world where nothing is what it seems, and she can’t even trust the people she loves the most. Blood and violence are her new reality as she fights for survival. As a rabid infection seems to be distorting humanity before her eyes, she’s forced to trust the few strangers who remain like her; normal.
They look like beautiful people but move like wild animals. Witness the brutal carnage they cause, blood and gore hanging on the air like mist.
Pressed in on all sides, wheat waiting for the reaper.
Sarah managed to escape.
At least; she thinks she did.

“This was actually a pretty darn good book. The author put a different twist on what constitutes a zombie. I highly recommend...”

“I did like reading this book as the story line was new and refreshing and the heroine could be you or me. The author knows a thing or two about human nature.”

Very interesting story. Different take on "zombie" infection. Thought provoking as to do you choose to be infected and go along with everyone of do you choose to remain "human" ? And why? Could make for some interesting discussions. Would recommend.

A well imagined apocalyptic thriller, with good characters and a unique vision of the end of the world with an interesting variation on the "zombie" theme. A concise and fast paced story that makes a great addition to one of my favourite genres.

Their Celebration Turned to Terror

WARNING: Some vague spoilers ahead

In this novel, an unknown kind of contagion is spreading and after being attacked by the sick, the new victims are also infected. But, similarity to the usual zombie stories ends there.

There are no walking dead, and the infected are indistinguishable from the uninfected. Until they aren't.

The concept is clever and different and the author does a good job with it. I really enjoyed the departure from the typical zombie tropes. Whether fast or slow, zombies are being done to death.

At the beginning, I felt that the heroine jumped to conclusions a bit too quickly (unless she was a horror fan and already knew how things added up). She also reacted in ways that seemed contradictory sometimes. But, once I knew more of her story, it all made more sense.

In any case, this is a suspenseful and imaginative horror novel. I recommend it!

One More Dawn is definitely a unique interpretation of zombie books, it's nothing I've read before.

Sarah and Daniel are celebrating their engagement when the end of the world begins. They are at a club when it starts. She hears screaming. They try to to escape but only Sarah does. Or does she?
She doesn't understant what is happening, peolpe behave violent, they attack everyone who is not one of them. But them seem almost fine until they see you. If you're not one of them be aware. Run. Run fast.

To tell the truth I expected something else after reading the description. What I got was something more, something new, something crazy. The book tells the the beginning of the end of the world. We don't know how it started, what we know is that it is violent, bloody and contagious.

The story is told from the perspective of Sarah. We follow her as she struggles with the loss of Daniel, the loss of her entire life and her new reality. She is just an ordinary human without any special skillset and yet she manages to survive. I didn't particulary like her but I respected her. It is always refreshing when

One More Dawn is highly recommended. I would like to read about what happened to Sarah after the ending.

Thank you to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and John Riley for my copy.
