I loved this, a lovely cheerful read. I couldn’t put this down it was dotable and heart warming. Such a pick me up read. I loved all the characters. A great happy ending to a great fun read

The Tanglewood Tea Shop is a cute ROM-COM! I love the character! I like reading about cute little cafe's!

This was a wonderfully well-written story of growth and happiness.
I was anxious about reading this book for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I have only ever read one other Lilac Mills books and really enjoyed it, but that could have been a fluke, it wasn’t!
The second is that one of my favourite series of books is ‘The Comfort Food Cafe series by Debbie Johnson’. I didn’t know how another book set in a cafe could live up to the standards set by Johnson, but it did! I needn’t have been worried.
I loved hearing about all the creations that Stevie made and as a baker myself I wish there had been recipes at the back, so I could make some of Stevie’s creations (but not the chocolate and broccoli cupcakes, they did not sound appetising!)
I think the only thing I didn’t like about this book is Stevie’s name. Every time it was in the book I kept thinking who is Steve? She just didn’t seem like a Stevie, but this is just my opinion!
I loved how all the village came together it made the book feel homely, and if it were real I’d want to visit Tanglewood (well it does exist but not in Wales, and I’m sure it doesn’t have such an amazing cafe as Peggy’s Tea Shoppe)!

This Book was everything and more that I want in a book.</p>

It holds three things that are dear to me Love, Tea and Cake. How can you go wrong with a book about a Tea Shop and some love :)

Stevie is an amazing 26 year old red head or should i say chestnut - I'd be in trouble is Stevie heard me say red! At the beginning of the book we are introduced to Stevie who is stuck in a rut and not sure where to go. After an unfortunate accident that cost her the job she had working with Corky Middleton a Chef of an up-class restaurant she didn't know what to do with herself.

Stevie had to move back in with her mother Hazel who to say the least is not a very nice person. She doesn't seem to believe in Stevie and what she does with her life.

Stevie unfortunately loose her Great Aunt Peggy at the beginning of the book too, it turns out that Aunt Peggy isn't a poor as she seemed. Stevie Spent a lot of time with her Aunt over the years while her mother and Sister Fern did not!

Because of this Aunt Peggy left Stevie pretty much all her money... two hundred and sixty-three thousand pounds. To start with Stevie was not sure what to do with this money but while searching the web for a job she found a real estate selling a tea shop in a little town called Tanglewood.
Stevie went to Tanglewood and won the auction for the tea shop and moved in above it into a two bedroom apartment.
To say her mother and sister were not thrilled with the Tea Shop is an understatement. They didn't think that Stevie would be able to make it in the town of Tanglewood and that she would head home with her tail between her legs quick smart!

But Stevie Became part of the little town in no time. She made some awesome friends. Betty who was a regular customer over the age of 80 and secretly a baker too. Leanne the local flower shop owner who could drink anyone under the table. Tia the little sister of the hot stable owner and horse trainer. Tia herself was once an amazing horse rider herself but unfortunately ended up in a wheel chair

Throughout the book we learn a little more about each character of the book. But for me it is Stevie who is my favourite and I am a little partial to Betty too! It was this book that made me realise that if I could be anything else in the world with unlimited funds I think I would chose to run a tea shop - just like the one in this book. It sounds like so much fun to me!

This Book was amazing and I'm glad in the end that Stevie found what she wanted to do with her life and found love while doing it!

The author captures the essence of the book right from the beginning and keeps you wanting to read more to find out what happens next. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves Tea, Cake and Love! Really what more could you ask for :)

A cute, entertaining and fun to read story.
I loved the quirky characters and the setting.
The plot was engaging and keeps you hooked till the last page.
This the perfect book for a cozy afternoon.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.

I am a total sucker for Brit Lit and I love the plucky heroine starting a business and finding her HEA theme. Well, this book had all that and more. Stevie inherits some money from her aunt Peggy, finds a perfect spot and opens Peggy’s tea shop in Tanglewood.

Part of the lure of this book is the bunch of townies that Stevie meets and start to enjoy. This includes handsome horseman Nick and his sister Tia. There’s a wonderful villainess, Allegra, who is a food maniac and who tries to destroy the tea shop.

This is a very enjoyable read from an author who is new to me but whom I will read in the future.

When her great aunt peggy dies, she leaves her entire estate to her niece Stevie. After the shock wears off, Stevie decides that she wants to put the money to good use so she decides to buy a shop in the Brecons in Wales. so she can start a tea shop.

She meets local show jumper Nick and his sister Tia, as well as Leanne, Betty, Cassandra and others and this turns out to be a book that i would have happily read more of. I hope the author goes back to Tangle wood because i would like to read Tia and Williams book next.

When Stevie is left some money by her great aunt, whilst she is in a sorry stage of her life she decides to buy a tea shop.
When she struggles with even the journey to the picturesque sounding village, you begin to wonder whether she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But her plans for the tea shop are wonderful and she soon picks up pretty mismatched crockery for the delicious cakes she is going to serve.
Her introduction to the village community doesn't go that smoothly, but she's soon making friends with some wonderful characters who put themselves behind her.
It has everything- a lovely village, the 'folk' at the manor house, a tempting teashop, warm friendships and a hint of romance in the air.
I do wonder whether we might return to Tanglewood and possibly follow other characters in new ventures! I would be keen to read more.

A fun and at times sweet story of Stevie, who inherits some money from an elderly aunt, and decides to open up a tea shop in a small town in Wales. Nearly running over Nick, who is riding a horse down the middle of the street, she is captivated by his tight bum on the saddle. Who wouldn't? Small town living, and people helping people and of course some vindictive gossip all lead to a lively story. Highly recommend this one and this author.

‘The Tanglewood Tea Shop’ is my first read by Lilac Mills and I know it won’t be my last. This book certainly didn’t disappoint. I was thrilled to be approved to read this book on Netgalley where what attracted me first to the book was the cover, it’s bright and certainly draws you in.

The story starts with Stevie’s clear special relationship with her aunt Peggy. Sadly Peggy passes away and Stevie inherits a lot of money from her aunt Peggy, much to the dismay of her mother and sister who actually inherit something different to Stevie and they won’t let her forget it. These events land Stevie in the little village of Tanglewood where there are many different characters to meet. Stevie is my favourite character. She is caring, shy but kind, hardworking and is determined to make her late aunt proud of her achievements. Stevie quite easily makes friends with Leanne, Tia, Cassandra, the lovely Betty and the handsome Nick plus more (can’t forget Stevie’s cat Peggy!). I really felt for Tia and her situation, this is Nick’s sister. You can see this relationship is unique and special. Stevie comes up against some challenging situations whilst living in Tanglewood, however I won’t go into this too much as I really would like you to read the book for yourself! I found myself loving all of the characters apart from one (there is always one isn’t there!?)

I found this book a nice relaxed easy read which are my most definitely my type of reads! Lilac describes the setting of each chapter so clearly I could imagine this story playing out in my mind! Whist reading ‘The Tanglewood Tea Shop’ I felt happiness, joy, sadness and even frustration in parts but that is only because you want Stevie to have the happy ending she 100% deserves. You also don’t know what’s going to happen next so this book had me hooked from beginning to end. I will for sure be reading more of Lilac’s books in the future as I enjoyed this book so much. I give ‘The Tanglewood Tea Shop’ 5*/5* 😊

I love these sorts of books - give me a small town community, a tea shop (or other sort of shop), a couple of hunky men, some new friends, and a bit of drama, and for you have a wonderful comfort read.

There was something so familiar about this book, despite never having read it before and i felt right at home, and loved how Stevie suddenly had the means to move away from her frankly horrific family, and buy a teashop in a gorgeous village.

When I say familiar, perhaps I really mean warm and cosy, and I loved how the story panned out. There did seem to be some large jumps in time between chapters, but once you came to almost expect that time was moving forward a few weeks at a time, it was absolutely fine, as that way we were able to get to know Stevie a lot better, and see how she starts to become a part of the Tanglewood community.

As much as I loved Stevie, I had real soft spots for Tia, who is the sister of Nick who may or may not fancy Stevie, and ha been going through a tough time, and Betty who really comes into her own during the second half of the book.

I really enjoyed getting to know the residents of Tanglewood, and would be incredibly happy to return there in a future book.

This is anther highly enjoyable book from Lilac Mills. It seems as though she is very talented at writing, just the sorts of book that I love!
