Off The Rails is historical fiction. Imagine having a baby at 15. The father is long gone. Years later, you and your child are working in a mansion that belongs to the father, and he doesn't recognize you. It's very sad and just made me angry. What would you do? The story is engaging and intriguing, unfolding at a good pace with enough to keep you guessing. The heroine is intelligent and strong. It's quite an interesting read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! George Hudson gets fifteen year old Jane pregnant. To her shame, she is forced to leave her small village. She has her daughter, Milly, and raises her. Milly is well loved and has a good childhood. Meanwhile, George becomes a very rich, arrogant leader in the railroad industry. He will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Years later, Jane and Milly end up working in George's house. This is the story of what happens when they reconnect. Highly recommend!
