This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a drama filled romance as Elise escapes from jail after she was falsely accused of murdering her husband. She then goes to Cass, a friend that she helped get out of jail and was also innocent.

From Cass, she meets Gideon, Blade, and Logan. This is the first book in a new series and it is off to a great start! There is just enough of Gideon and Blade in this story that you want to know more about them and look forward to their story.

I was kept guessing who the real murderer was until the end and I was surprised! As Logan and Elise grow closer, it is later revealed to Elise that Logan Smith is not his real name and she finds out that Logan is not just helping her but seeking out evidence for his sister's murder.

There are a few scenes that are suspenseful as Elise almost gets caught one time sneaking around the mitchell house and at the end she and Logan need to rescue someone kidnappped.

Great ending and HEA as Elise is exhonorated and reunited with her son and starts anew life with Logan.

What an interesting story! I really enjoyed the plot of the woman falsely accused of murder, and her determination to retrieve her son from nefarious relatives. The storyline was good and flowed easily, and the interaction between Elise and Logan was believable, if somewhat predictable. Overall, this was a well-written story and a quick, one sitting read.

This is a non stop action from the word go a great page turner that draws you in and keeps you engaged until that very last page. Patricia is anew author for me but if this is any indication of her work she will fast become a favourite

Elise was charged and convicted of the murder of her husband now after serving three years she know she has to get out and get her son back before her husbands family take him over completely. She is shot and nearly drowns during her escape but after recovering she goes to Club Undercover for help. There she is placed with ex police officer Logan they will try to infiltrate there way into the family to get her son back Meanwhile Logan is trying to find out who killed his sister and he has a feeling that the same person may be responsible for both deaths. As they begin to fall in love will they be able to solve who the murderer is and get Elise's son back. A non stop action ride from the very first page

Not having read many from this author but I do like the sound of many of her novels that when I got the opportunity to read this one started right in. Elise will have you following quite the story in this with enough gas to ramp up the adrenaline in places. Many obstacles from the git go but help she is going to get her son. Let us not forget Logan who will have you sweating bullets in now time. Enjoyed the drama and seeing how fake becomes real.

Elise Mitchell goes to bed one night and finds her husband has been stabbed to death with her own letter opener. The only people in the house besides themselves was their 2-year-old son and her husband's sister.

Convicted of the murder, Elise spends three years in prison, before escaping. Her husband's sister has guardianship of her son, and she fears for his life.

Club Undercover is run by a man who believes in second chances. With the club owner and his employee's help, she finds a new identity and the club's head of security, Logan Smith, assists in helping her regain her son, and hopefully, her innocence.

But Logan also has his own agenda ....

Patricia Rosemoor is well known for her romance and suspense stories and this one did not disappoint. Elise is a strong character and charming, as well. Logan is the tall, dark, and handsome man who can't help but be attracted to Elise. I found myself rooting for both of them ...although they are both keeping secrets. A few twists and turns kept my attention.

Many thanks to the author / Dangerous Love Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I'm always looking for new authors to read and having not read any of Patricia Rosemoor's work was one of the things that attracted me to this book. I thought initially it was going to be simply a romance genre so was pleasantly surprised with the mystery / thriller elements. I found the characters rounded and very soon became invested in Elise's story. I also found it great to have the back story - it gives Elise more depth - I could see her motives and why she does what she does. Great descriptive writing added to the tension in the book which I really enjoyed.

I think this would also make a good book club book as the characters lend to looking indepth and analysing motive etc would make for great discussion. Would also make a great holiday read.

I really enjoyed the book and couldn't put it down - finished in one sitting - absolutely would recommend and would love to read more of Patricia's work

A good start to what feels like a promising series. There is an intriguing cast of characters that make you anxious to dig into their stories. Logan and Elise's relationship has a natural progression. The mystery has some surprising twists. Overall a fast paced read with plenty of action and tension. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Pretending to be his wife…. This is a great start to a series. Wrongfully convicted of killing her husband, Elise has escaped prison because she is afraid that her son is in danger from the real murderer. Elise is given a second chance by a club owner but his head of security Logan is not convinced that Elise is innocent. Logan gives Elise an opportunity by pretending to be his wife to get close to her son but Logan might have his own agenda. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Netgallery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a very suspenseful book with interesting characters. Even though I knew there would be a happy ending, I was rooting for Elise and Logan throughout the book. This is a quick read which I really enjoyed.

It felt like a good build up to a new series. A good introduction of characters that were new to me. Gideon the club owner, Cass (Elise's friend) and Logan. I liked the difference that the Club presented. It also made me want to know more about Gideon and what his story is.
At one point just before the 40ish mark on my Kindle I was getting kind of impatient though. It felt like it was starting to drag. A fair amount of replaying of the same emotions by several of the people.
I felt that the romance between Logan and Elise could have had a bit more depth. I'm not asking for any porno scenes. It just felt a bit lacking. It felt like the depth was lacking with some of the characters, the main ones included.
There were a couple of times when Logan & Elise skulking were around a house trying to find evidence they were kind of careless. Made me kind of groan and think, "Really?" I was shaking my head thinking how stupid can they be? But then it was like how are they going to escape this jam? And the tension in the story just ratcheted up! And wait until you get to the end...now there is a MAJOR surprise. At least to me it was. I gave it 3.5 STARS on Amazon.

Great read from a new-to-me author.

Elise was made the scapegoat for her wealthy husband's murder. Now after 3 years she has managed to escape and her only aim is to make sure her son is safe from her cold, socialite in-laws!

She manages to get assistance from an acquaintance and manages to get a job at Club Undercover, little realising that they may just be the saviours she has been looking for.

Logan has his own agenda when it comes to this prominent family. He blames a certain member for the death of his little sister. But can he keep his need for revenge separate from his building need to keep Elise safe and rescue her son?

Great set pieces of action/drama and more than a few red herrings. I was totally rooting for the wrong person to be the baddie! The romance was a wee bit less-than sometimes but it didn't hamper my enjoyment of the storyline.
