Loved this book!!! I loved the first book in the series and this one is just as good, if not better. Blade is the steady bartender at Club Undercover when he is tasked with keeping Lynn, an attorney that just survived a kidnapping, safe from the man who kidnapped her.....which would be much easier if they could figure out who is was. As Lynn's appearance and name are altered, she begins hiding in plain sight while waiting for the police to solve the crime. However, she keeps investigating, even while fighting her attraction to Blade....even as Blade is hiding a dark secret of his own.

If you enjoy fast paced romantic suspense, you will love this book. I found myself drawn into the character's stories and wanting them to get a HEA ending. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Second book in this wonderful series where the bodyguards work undercover s(and I mean that in a literal sense)

This is Lynn and Blade's story Lynne Cross is a divorce attorney and her speciality is those nitty gritty divorces where she takes on the violent offenders. She has just been kidnapped she knows it is by one of her clients partners nut she can't identify who he is She manages to escape but the police can't do much with the information she can give them. So she is put in the care of Blade Stone ex special forces and member of Club Undercover who just happens to be friends with the detective handling Lynn's case. He will move into her home and protect her body in more ways than one As the attraction builds between them they are both keeping secrets she is investigating her own kidnapping but what is the secret Blade is keeping Will they be able to find true love together You will have to read to see

As with all of the books in this series while they are a romantic suspense there is more emphasis on the suspense than the romance and that is fine as it makes the books great reads

While I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Club Undercover series (Fake ID Wife), VIP Protector is every bit as good, if not better. Blade and Lynn are both interesting characters and compliment each other perfectly throughout the telling of this story. Mystery, suspense and romance (with a side helping of kink) are all rolled into one to provide the reader with an exhilarating tale of unexpected love while hiding in plain sight. This is only the second story in this series of five books, and I can’t wait to read what comes next!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a wild journey as Blade tries to keep Lynn safe from her stalker who wants to kill her! Lots of drama and intrigue as they try to figure out which of the suspects could be her the one.

I don't want to give away any secrets so I will just say that this book keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat as you read it.

Some secrets come out and Lynn has to deal with the memory of her sister's death and how she has never got closure on this.

I love this series as each of the employees at Club Underground are working to either right a wrong or get a second chance in life. The next book sounds even better if that is possible!!

What I wouldn't give for a bodyguard like Blade. I will be sure to read more of this authors books. I didn't know what the outcome would be which kept me hooked. 5* all round

I love Patricia Rosemoor's books and this is the second in a series. I have been lucky enough to have read the first one so to be able to continue with the series has been a bit of a luxury.

This one is about Lynn and Blade and I thoroughly enjoyed the romantic aspect and the thriller / mystery elements. It was a nice mix. Loved all the twists and turns in the mix.

If you enjoy the mix of romance, mystery and thriller, Patricia Rosemoor is for you

I liked both of the main characters even though on the surface at least they seemed worlds apart.
Blade is carrying one MAJOR secret. One that could potentially explode when it comes to dealing with Lynn. And darn, he is so attracted to her too. And vice versa!
Lynn. Darn girl, for a woman who is supposed to be an intelligent woman you sure took some DUMB chances. She might be a smart lawyer but her street smarts seem to be way turned OFF.
I liked how we got 3 different characters P.O.V.'s. Not only Blade and Lynn's but also the villain of the piece too. Of course with no identifying markers, so it keeps you guessing. But the hatred definitely comes through. And there are plenty of suspects to muddy the water. And plenty of action and threats as well.
The story comes to a surprising conclusion wrapping things up very well. I have to say that I had just started to suspect one particular person and in the end that was the one! Yay! But the author didn't make it easy so points to her for that.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

Lynn has survived a kidnapping, the perpetrator still on the loose. How can she pick up the pieces, when her abductor continues to menace her. Detective Stella Jacobek arranges to help Lynn, putting her in contact with an old friend who can keep her safe. A former member of the Special Forces, Blade will do what is necessary to keep her safe. The story develops with angst, menace, mystery and tension. The tangible attraction that blooms between Lynn and Blade as they wage a campaign to stay ahead of danger. I read a copy of this book, courtesy of NetGalley.

Detective Stella Jacobec reassured Lynn they would get the guy who had abducted her . She told Lynn maybe she should grab a couple things but not stay home. Maybe she could go to a friends or a family member to stay until he was caught. Lynn said no she didn’t want to drag anyone else into this mess. Her older sister had died violently nearly two years ago. Her younger sister was working in London trying to heal from the wounds of a fresh divorce. Her parents had problems of their own, her father had been sick for some time and her mother had turned into his caregiver. At work there was a security staff so that would help. Noone could get in without them knowing about it. The detective said to call her Stella and she would take Lynn home and check out Lynn’s place herself. Stella told Lynn she admired what Lynn did - getting women what they deserve especially her pro bono work representing women who didn’t have the means to leave the men who mistreated them. Lynn was a lawyer. Lynn wasn’t sure which was worse- being held captive or the aftermath, doctors probing her body for wounds, police penetrating her mind for answers. Lynn had been held about thirty six hours. She had been leaving her office building when he grabbed her than drugged her. The guy had told her before going out the window when police were there “ until we meet again.” After she was home and Stella had left the phone rang and it was him and when Lynn said, “ Who is this?” he replied” The one who is going to make sure you’re punished for your misdeeds.” Than Stella called and Lynn had already started packing to take off and told lynn she may have a solution to give her an hour. It was away from the department. Lynn asked why she would do this for her and Stella said she had helped someone pro bono from her old neighborhood. bNow Stella wanted to help her. Lynn agreed to wait an hour. Stella went to Blade at the Club Underground bar where he worked. Blade and Stella had grown up together in the same impoverished neighborhood together, they were friends. Blade had contacted her and asked her to tell him everything she knew about Lynn. After he offered to be Lynn’s bodyguard for personal reasons. The owner of the bar Gideon and a few other employees -Logan and Cassandra - would relish a chance to help another innocent. Lynn didn’t want to run, didn’t want to lose herself and become another nameless face in another city. She pinned her hopes on Stella. Than there was a dangerous looking guy at her door and she went into attack mode and then she fell back but she did get the statue at his leg, they both fell back but he prevented himself from falling completely on top of her than Stella showed up. Stella told Lynn blade was to be her new bodyguard and she couldn’t find a better man to protect her, that Lynn could trust him with her life. Than Blade told Lynn she would be coming with him to Bucktown. They’de give her a new place to stay and a new identity. As long as he didn’t push too hard she could stand it. When they shook hands she glanced into his dark eyes she was caught by something unfathomable. A connection. As they left the building instinct told her Blade was aware of every sound, every movement. Every life form within eye or earshot. As if he were trained to do so. Than Blade told Lynn they would be hiding her in plain sight. She would replace a waitress at the bar. She would go along with Blade’s plan until she came up with one better. Lynn was at Blades and woken up by him while having a nightmare. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him but he wouldn’t go any further than a passionate kiss. He said it wouldn’t be right. The next morning Lynn didn’t want to face Blade but he had made breakfast and she was starved. But he put her at ease. Than he reminded her she was to go to Cassandra’s to give her a new look. He made to her apartment that night but she wasn’t there. Through binoculars he had seen the detective escort her to her apartment a little while later he had seen the detective leave. He apparently didn’t wait long enough to see Evelyn/Lynn leave as well. A temporary set back he didn’t get her here but he would somewhere else. Lynn told Blade she had made a mistake and gotten her older sister killed. Blade asked her about her sister . Her name was Lorraine and she was a social worker Lynn had a client living in a culture that pretty much kept all their women from the real world but one somehow came to her about a divorce. Then she changed her mind. She was either being coerced or afraid of what would happen to her and her children if she left her husband so she asked Lorraine to talk to her, about shelters and programs for displaced women. Her sister had been at the wrong place at the wrong time because Lynn had asked her to talk to the woman and now she was dead. The man was never brought to justice or even identified. Blade was the man who mistakenly killed Lorraine . But he couldn’t tell her that yet. They had went to Lynn’s office and he was there waiting , he saw she was with a man and backed off into the shadows. But at least he seen her disguise. Blade wanted Lynn so he took a couple of hours to go back to the old neighborhood to see if he could find out if johnny was the one after Lynn.
Excellent book. I didn’t want to put this down and read it in one setting and I wasn’t disappointed. This book had a lot in it: a bar , a secret group of people trying to help others, attempted murder- a couple of times, manslaugter, a mission gone wrong, intrigue, suspense, danger, romance, and so much more. I loved Blade and Lynn together and how they interacted. I loved how Gideon, CVass, Logan and Blade had formed a group to help people who had no one else to go to or nowhere else to go to. I really loved Cass and her visions. I loved the action and suspense in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

This has become a interesting series for me. Undercover is mysterious at times when others do it so enjoy the intrigue and suspense that this one carries at times along with the romance. The drama that will bring them to each other have us following Blade and Lynn. Shadows brought on by him will cloud it at first too. This too though starts off with a bang to where you find yourself settled in quickly. The characters will wrap themselves around you having you love them quickly. Great reading filled with what will feed the craving for that mystery and suspense.
