Advance Praise
This is the second novel, I have read by this author - the first being Megan's Game. A Flash of Lightning is another very good read. The main plot revolves around DCI Rudd, who must enter the mind of a terrorist to stop the killing of 400 innocent British citizens ... in a second plot, a stockbroker in the city must save his company after a £6 million film, financed by his clients, turns sour. The two plots cleverly collide in A Flash of Lightning. The early part of the book is dedicated to romance with periodic flashes back and forth to the story of the "Great train robbery". Why ? I won't spoil the read and go into detail but I will say that you won't be able to put the book down until you have unraveled the link between, the great train robbery, modern day terrorism and A Flash of Lightning. I particularly loved the history and the insight into the world of films and financing. All-in-all, a very clever, imaginative and well researched romantic thriller.
