Description

Claire Davenport is a hopeless romantic who shared her first kiss with Alex Murphy during a game of Spin the Bottle. Only Alex never pursued her after their kissing session and Claire regrets not telling him about her crush. At twenty-seven, no boyfriends have captured her heart in the same way. Still, she hasn’t given up on finding the one. Unfortunately, Forever Designs, her boutique wedding dress business, is accumulating more bills than invoices so love has to take a backseat for now.

When a famous model books Claire to design her wedding dress, she jumps at the opportunity only to find out the client is her childhood best friend and rival, Missy Peters. Claire and Missy’s friendship imploded when Missy stole Claire’s high school boyfriend. To save her business, Claire has no choice, but to work with Missy. To Claire’s surprise, the best man turns out to be Alex Murphy. Gone is the skinny boy with the awkward-but-endearing kisses. Alex is now a sexy scientist, who for some reason seems determined to stop the wedding, which Claire can’t let happen.

Now, Claire must design the perfect dress for demanding Missy, while at the same time countering Alex’s attempts to break up the bride and groom. Can Claire convince Alex to give Missy and her fiancé a chance, and that true love is possible? And can she do it without him breaking her heart all over again?

Claire experienced her first kiss in the seventh grade and promptly fell in love. Unfortunately, she hasn’t experienced those feelings for anyone since.

When Alex experienced his first kiss with Claire, he was awestruck and wanted nothing more than to go from friends to something more. However, his belief in love and relationships shamed shortly thereafter when his parents divorced. Alex has struggled to believe in love ever since.

When Claire and Alex reconnect thanks to the wedding planning of an old friend and Alex’s cousin, they are initially on opposite sides. Claire believes that Alex is trying to break their friends up, and she does everything she can think of to stop him. Eventually things begin to change between them, and Alex becomes less disillusioned. Unfortunately, as Alex’s feelings change, Claire begins to distrust Alex and his motivations.

Can two people who have had feelings for each other for 15 years get over a myriad of demons to find true love? Ms. Hatler’s books are always quick, charming, and witty reads. If you have a free afternoon or evening and are looking for a quick escape, Forever in a Kiss would be a great way to spend a few hours!

Forever in a Kiss is number seven in Kissed By the Bay Series, however it can be read as a stand alone. Alex Murphy has been Claire's long time crush. It all started in 7th grade during a game of spin the bottle that ended in a life changing kiss. Alex and Claire are reunited when Alex's cousin is getting married to Claire's long lost friend Missy. Claire is a hopeless romantic where Alex is very cynical due to his past. Throughout the book there is a lot of witty banter between the love interests, and some really touching moments as well. Though the two are opposite they are able to come together and find true love. This is the first book I have read in the series, but would enjoy reading the others as well!

This story leaves you feeling safe and romanced from the very first page. Clean, fresh and breaking the mold with tender vibes that last long after the story ends. 5/5 stars.

This was a sweet fun, funny, romantic book. There was no sex in it but it wasn't prudish or religious either. It was just a good, clean, wholesome romance. I liked the story, the writing and The romance.

Susan Hatler was an unknown author to me, but I will definitely be looking out for more titles of her! It actually was the cover, which caught my eye on Netgalley. Absolutely marvelous (and if you check out the other covers in the series, you will see a great consistency in all the titles). And I adored the story of Claire, who is a hopeless romantic and Alex, a total cynic. Most of all, because Alex is dead set on preventing his nephew Kyle and Clair's former best friend (until she kissed Clair's prom date) to go through with their marriage.
And Clair is utterly depending on the exposure of her designed bridal dress of Misty on all social media because of Misty's fame. So, Claire needs to chose between her head (the survival of her business) and her heart (for loving Alex since high school, after their first kiss). Find out more in this hilarious read about second chances, infidelity, fame and high school romances. A great read, four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Another wonderful sweet romance by Susan Hatler. If you are a dreamer and dream big then this second chance romance is for you.

This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. I was taken by Claire when we first met her in Charlie's book and it's about time she got her own story. Claire is a bridal designer who is struggling to get her business
going. Claire is a dreamer and an optimist and let's just say these traits are contagious to those around her.

Alex is a scientist who loves order in his life. I would have like Alex's past and struggles to get more exposition, it seemed like a missed opportunity to better develop the protagonists and their relationships. It also seemed that many of these points were brought up but then left unresolved.

The side characters were all wonderful and meaningful to the main characters storyline. The legend also played its part in this book, but not as much as some others.

All in all this is a good quick summer read.

*I received a copy via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.*

Ahhh I love this series ! I look forward to each new addition, to see how things will play out and I wasn’t disappointed with this one! I’m a huge sucker for a good romantic comedy, especially when it makes me laugh and aww over things, and I did a lot of both! I really loved Claire I think she’s up there in my favorites of the main characters, and the premise for this book. I could feel Claire’s pain in having to create the dress. I loved her, she was such a fun and likeable character, it wasn’t hard to root for her, I mean come on? First kiss love ? Swoooon! I just adored how this book played out, I had sooo much fun reading it, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, and Susan’s books ^_^

Thank you to Netgalley for sending me a free copy of Forever in his kiss in return for an honest review . I absolutely loved this book. Such an easy read I just couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this book. I enjoy the writing style of Susan Hatler and have read a number of her books. The premise of the book is based on a remembered first kiss from high school. I liked how the 2 main characters came together and were interwoven with characters from other books.

I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this Forever in a Kiss. I do wish the story was told from a dual POV, rather than 1st person from the heroine’s POV. At 25% in, I didn’t like the hero at all. He’s a hot scientist, based on the heroine’s description, but he had no redeeming qualities. Maybe if we’d heard from him, it would’ve provide a much needed answer to his motivations for sabotaging his cousins wedding.

Thankfully, the more I read, the more I learned about the hero and his personality. By the end, I was a fan. I could have missed out on a really great read. I’m glad I pushed through.

I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a fun story. I enjoyed getting to know Claire. She just wants to find the right guy for her, but they don't measure up to her first kiss. The way that Claire deals with a former friend that stole her boyfriend and then her first crush on the same day was comical. I found myself chuckling several times throughout the book. Alex seems a bit mysterious throughout the book. The book is told in first-person point of view. I would have loved to see what Alex was thinking when he was interacting with Claire. Overall this was an enjoyable book. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves sweet, clean romance comedy.

She's trying to get her wedding dress business off the ground, and a famous client (who just happens to be her ex-best friend) is just the thing to do the trick - however demanding she may be. He's the best man for the upcoming wedding - but seems to be doing his best to sabotage it. She can't let him succeed - both because she needs the business and the publicity, and because she believes in true, lasting love. But it just so happens that seeing him brings back memories of her first kiss, back in school - a kiss she's never forgotten - from him. Will she be able to make him believe in true love, and get her business on a firm footing at the same time? Or are the two equally doomed...?

I enjoyed this book as I have all the author's books to date - but was a bit frustrated that Claire seemed to assume that the fact that Alex was trying to prevent the wedding meant that he didn't believe in love in general. Though the latter appears to have been true, why couldn't he merely be trying to prevent it because Missy and Kyle were not suited to each other - which, if correct, would presumably be a praiseworthy thing, not a lack of belief in love. Anyway, despite that, I enjoyed the continuation of the series as a fun, clean, light read. It was particularly nice to see the gradual unfolding of Missy's character and motives, and I'd love to see more of her story.

Note that I received a copy of the book from NetGalley and this is my considered opinion of the book.

The story of Claire and Alex. She has always thought about him since their kiss years ago. But after the kiss he ignored her, so he obviously didn't feel the same.

Years later she meets him again. He is the best man and she is designing the wedding dress. He is trying to stop the wedding going ahead, so she sets out to find out why and stop his sabotage.

Unknowing they are also being set up by the bride, who can see they are attracted to each other.

Alex is keeping secrets though, so what will happen when Claire finds out?

An entertaining short read.

This is a fun, clean romantic story that kept me entertained. I loved the humor in this book. This was the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely will not be my last! I’ve already started another one actually. Some of the characters really surprised me and that was the point in the story and it made such a wonderful point of our perceptions vs reality. It made for a touching story with some real meaning behind all the fun.

Cute book with interesting characters. Good storyline with some twists! A bit cliched about the first kiss, but good book overall.
