Description

Life on Earth is struggling to continue. When a middle schooler, Sidra, is chosen to journey to the planet chosen for Earth’s repopulation, she learns that people-like beings already live there, including her new friend, Tara. The past between both civilizations is rekindled at the Earthlings’ arrival. The two girls, worried for both of their planets’ futures, take matters into their own hands.

A Spatial Surprise is an all-ages sci-fi novella about imagination, discovery, and big dreams. Written for middle grade readers, this tale, told by a 12-year-old author, holds just as much charm for adults or for families to read together.

Marketing Plan

We're looking for general reviews on Goodreads, retail sites, and social media. Given the special nature of this title, we'd be thrilled to find it unique opportunities, such as author interviews, school purchases, or book clubs.

Please note that this is not a standard children's title and we are seeking reviewers that understand its nature and intent. It was written by a 12-year-old from a Telugu background and we preserved the voice and perspective of that author, including the way a 12-year-old would write and phrase things. We hope that adults will read and enjoy it as something special and charming, and we hope that it will inspire kids to dream and create.

The author is a middle school student in the Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. area. She would be interested in visiting local schools or libraries to talk about her experience writing and being published. She was 12 when the book was released and will be turning 13 this fall.
