Description

A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.

I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.

The food, champagne, and service were impeccable.

The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better.

He was suave and intelligent.

We talked and laughed, and something clicked.

Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.

With no plans, we made our own.

We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget.

That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.

I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk.

But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities.

I just got an email.

He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m.

Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace.

What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?

A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.

I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.

I received a free copy of THE STOPOVER (Book 1 of the Miles High Club) by T.L. Swan in exchange for an honest review. An unexpected confrontation at the end of a cruddy trip gets Emily Foster an upgrade to first class for her flight home. The man Emily ends up sitting next to is initially annoying, but hot. Over the long flight, he improves as an acquaintance, and Emily ends up spending an overnight layover lying over him. He leaves the next morning without even asking for Emily’s phone number. A year later, Emily moves to New York for her dream job and discovers he’s the CEO of her new company. Emily’s sexy boss makes it clear he wants to revisit their past, but Emily knows it isn’t wise.

The book was heavy on the eroticism. The main characters were pretty much either fighting or f--having sex. The story contains profanity, but the bulk of it is relegated to Emily’s degrading nickname. Storyline is present; for instance, there’s a mystery. However, character development only occurs when the primaries are separate, and the bulk of the romantic relationship happens off the page between scenes, so, other than the sex, the reader sees very few healthy aspects to Emily and Jay’s relationship. I recommend this book to readers who are more interested in eroticism than romance.

Reader beware, this is pure book hangover material. My heart was in my throat the entire way through. The angst and pull between T.L. Swan’s characters was next level. Absolutely loved the witty banter and chemistry between the two. The book is pure enjoyment wrapped up in raw emotions and hot as he-- scenes! 5 stars

Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC of #TheStopover which I read and reviewed independently. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Jameson and Emily book, Jameson owns miles media with his family. Emily is a media writer. They both get stranded in a stopover on-a flight from London to New York! They are seat mates in first class! They have a incredible night together and don’t meet up again until Emily goes for a new job at miles media 12 months later! Emily is shocked to see the CEO is none other than her blue eyed hottie from months ago! She’s been dying to work at miles media so she knows they can’t hook up again and keep this job! This book was really really good! I definitely recommend reading this one! It’s well worth the read! It was funny , light hearted, it was a little long for the story but still great!! I will definitely continue on with the series ! Can’t wait for more!! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!!

Oh my!! Meeting a handsome guy on a long flight, that’s where Jameson and Emily meet. Their plan has to land at another airport and they have one super magical night. No numbers exchanged. Move forward a year and Emily is working for him, unbeknownst to her. When they figure it out, it is on!! Unfortunately, they both have a lot of things to deal with. And their relationship is rocky from the start. Can they both overcome their stubbornness and put aside those who want to hurt them to have a true relationship?? Amazing read!!

I enjoyed the writing but I couldn't get over my negative feelings for the hero. I think the author tried really hard to redeem him, but I wish in the end the heroine did better for herself. She settled too easily. I'm really bummed because I have enjoyed author's other books.

I anticipate every book that TL Swan puts out and this book absolutely did not disappoint! Once I started reading I could not put it down! I think Jameson was her biggest alphahole that she has written and I loved every moment of it. Emily...that girl was fierce! These two were the perfect match! The roller coaster of emotions that you ride throughout this book will tear you up and put you back together before you’ve realized what has happened. I’ve been happily sucked into this whole new world of characters and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Miles brothers stories!

Ooh. Lots of passion and not so much romance, if you get my meaning. When the flight that Emily and Jim are on has an unexpected layover in Boston, they spend one unforgettable night together, one and done so to speak. Fast forward a year and Emily has finally got her dream job working as a reporter for Miles Media, and who does she meet on her first day? Yep, Jim, the CEO! Now being that Emily is a reporter, and has been trying to get a position at Miles Media for several years, you would think she would know a bit about the owners, but hey ho, she had no clue. Herein starts a very tumultuous love/hate relationship. A story with lots of sex and passion, some funny bits, some emotional scenes and added in to the mix is a mystery to solve. Enjoyable and entertaining. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Oh man, what a story!

Enjoyed it so much which I had no doubt I will as I'm a huge fan of TL Swan books.

A very engaging love story, I got addicted to it from the first lines and there was no way of putting my kindle down until I got to the end of the book. It's a complete page-turner!

Beautifully written, suspenseful and swoony this story was just what I thought it will be. I was constantly glued to my kindle because every chapter was loaded with turns, twists and some drama between the characters. And that chemistry between our main characters was just a cherry on top.

Main characters journey was witty, sexy, funny, touching, angsty and with plenty of action. Every single character was lovable and relatable, they were developed to perfection and I couldn't stop admiring our main heroine's personality. She is my new best book girlfriend, completely in love with her :-) And of course, there has to be a dominating alpha male character. He doesn't take No for an answer but what a nice surprise awaits him when he meets Emily, who doesn't wrap words in cotton nor has trouble saying what she really thinks or feels.

The book is full of lust and banter between these two and it was a really fun and entertaining read, I can't recommend enough this book, you have to read it and you can thank me later.

This was such a great standalone romance read. I enjoyed Emily and Jameson's story a lot. It was full of action and entertainment from the very beginning. Their conversations were interesting and their story was a steamy one. I laughed a lot while reading this story. Their back and forth banter was non-stop from beginning to end and although I loved the banter, when it came to their relationship their back and forth was a lot at times. I wanted them to make a choice and stick with it. However, the ending was sweet and I defintiely look forward to reading Tristan's story in the next book because I enjoyed his character a lot in this story. This story is one that is worth reading.

First Class FB....

I am totally spent. So many feels in this story. I blame TL Swan for my sleepless night reading about Jameson Miles and Emily Foster. I will forgive her of course because this was such a hot, sizzling bowl of yumminess. The only disappointment for me waswhen my kindle's battery ran out while I was reading a really, really good part. I wanted to throw it across the room.

Jameson, words fail me but I will be tough and give it the old school try. He is totally Alpha, Dominant, sex on a stick and oh yes very controlled. But deep down he wants to have a forever love with someone who really gets him. That is where Emily comein. Their one night Stopover fling is forever engraved in her heart and stamped on her body. So much so that even after she sees Jameson again after one year, her girly parts immediately clench beyond her control. I loved the humor and wit of their storyand it had me laughing out loud. Emily is like a pitbull with Jameson and he did not know what hit him or how to handle her. She was so different than what he was accustomed to. She had his number from day one.

So hot, so funny, all the emotions, don't miss reading this one. You will not be disappointed.....

Blown away by this book. I loved it. I felt like I was Em. At one point I hated Jameson and felt every bit of emotion that Em felt. Can’t wait to read more from this series. Thanks.

The man really doesn't make sense at times, “I am not paying you to get hit on, Emily,” he growls." Jameson is such a romantic, "his dark eyes hold mine. “Tonight, we eff.” The man is quite bossy, “fine . Go and say goodbye, and I’ll wait for you downstairs. You have two minutes before I come up and drag you out.” He gives me a long, lingering kiss, and I turn, and he swats me on the behind." I liked this book, I adored Jameson the man was quite an *** and couldn't make up his mind on really anything.

Oh. My. God.

It's been a LONG time since I've been this sucked into a book. Holy cow.

First off, don't make the same mistake I did. I started this book on a Sunday evening - fatal error. Was up ALL night reading. It's THAT good. Set aside a full day, because you won't be able to put this one down.

From their very first meeting, the chemistry between Emily and Jim/Jay/Jameson is off the charts. I've never loved two characters like I did these two, and I read a LOT of romance novels. This book had everything - beautiful characters, toe-curling sex scenes, just enough drama and angst to keep you engaged without pissing you off, sweet scenes that really show you how the characters are growing together... oof.

Yes, the end made me mad. I wanted to smack some sense into both of them. But what great book doesn't make you want to scream a little?

Incredible writing, incredible characters, incredible story. I'm going to buy this book (I received an ARC) just because it was that freaking good and I need to make sure the author knows my appreciation for her words.

Highly recommend!

This book shocked the heck out of me! I was not expecting to love this story as much as did. The authors ability to pull you in and take you on a never ending suspenseful and down right gritty and hot as sin wild ride. You won’t be able to sit this one down till you’ve devoured the whole thing in one sitting!

Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on Tristan’s story!

*ARC kindly given for my honest opinion from @netgalley.

The Stopover is another good read from this author, maybe not my favourite that being shared between Mr Masters and Dr Stanton.
Emily and Jameson meet on a flight, Emily having been upgraded to first class, they hit it off and by the time they have to have a stopover at Boston due to inclement weather they share a hotel room and have a great deal of very satisfying sex.
Fast forward a year and Emily is in New York starting a much wished for position at Miles Media as a reporter. The CEO turns out to be non other than Jameson and the strong attraction between them is still there. So restarts their relationship, very intense, romantic and with great banter and not without some major disagreements.
All seems to be going well when suddenly something happens that really adds much drama and suspense to the story, this was extremely emotional and very well written.
I have to add I really became fed up with the constant mention of Emily’s ‘goofy smile’ I think it must have been mentioned in every chapter and did become very trying. That said as usual with this author this was extremely well written engaging and entertaining .
My grateful thanks to Net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Will i recommend it?-absolutely!
It is the best of TL Swan till date. So watchout for it!

Did a drunk person ever kicked your luggage at Heathrow Airport and talked nasty to you? Well and immediately after that have you been upgrated to first class where you met the most gorgeous man you have ever seen? No? Well our girl Emily has been there and done that. Or rather done him*ahem*.
Anyways this first book in the brand new series by TL Swan deals with a young, bright eyed Journalist Emily and the cynical billionaire bachelor Jameson Miles. They met on a roundabout flight from London to Chicago. Both of them were insanely attracted to one another from the very first time they met. Emily was returning home from a friend's wedding where she also had a not-so-meet cute with her then Ex and his latest side-piece(Emma's words not mine👐). And Jameson or "Jim" As he introduced himself as was too returning home to NYC. They met, they flirted, they watched Magic Mike together, they drank a whole lotta flight champaineand so when they had a Stopover at Boston due to weather inconviniences, Emily despite of herself had a very streamy one night stand with her "dream boat" of a man. But Jameson never promised anything more and never asked for her phone number,so Emily, though with great reluctance, let the idea of him go. But not before giving him her scarf to hide the hickey that she gave him(yeah Ikr?! A HICKEY!!!). Damn! that was some night between them.
Anyways, fast forward One year later, Emily had nailed her dream job at Miles Media. But the poor girl didn't know that her "Jim" is actually billionaire Jameson Miles and imagine her shock when she had a one one with the top guy and finds her beloved dream boat Jim behind the corporate desk at the top floor, giving her his panty melting smirk! They had a brief conversation where Emily(now with a boyfriend) tells Jameson that the night between them should never ve mentioned again. And also pointed out that he is just not the type of guy she usually goes after(BURN). Oviously our "big boy" Jameson does not listen to her and starts actively pursuing her, bribing her with chocolate, cakes and also observing her with a camera. These all should turn Emily off and make her run for the hills(basically the cam bit) but it has the opposite effect. Emily starts to vent partly because of her deadbeat, former football player boyfriend who lives at his parent's basement, plays video games all day and ignores her most of the time. And when he refused to move to NYC for a fresh start with her, they unfortunately broke up. Emily and Jameson soon after started an started seeing each other and ofcourse started falling in love. But none of them says so to the other one. But thats the good part of the story. The better half is filled with conspiracy and company fraud and unfortunately Jameson and Emily's budding relation gets caught in the middle. And when Jameson, despite knowing that Emily loves him, intensionally hurts her, the shit finally hits the fan. Cause you see, Emily decided that she loves herself more and deserves better(I whole heartedly agree with her!).....

“Falling in love with you is what isn’t fair. I never stood a chance . . . you knew that all along. You keep your heart in a tightly sealed Miles-High icebox, only to be looked at.”

God! My heart broke for them both. Jameson did some pretty irreversible things in their relationship which is pretty difficult to forget. What happened next you say? Did they get their happily ever after? Well you have to watch out for the book and see what happens to their story cause I don't wanna spoil the fun😂 Just that they do get their happily ever after but it was a long road and Jameson had to travel on his 'Grovelling' "car " to get to his happily ever after! All the secondary characters in this story were awesome! Specially Tristan. Omg! i can't wait for his story next! I loved every thing about this book and I am so so happy that I got a Advance Reader's Copy through Netgalley. I am very very thankful. And anyways I had a great time reading it. Finished it in almost 12 hours and I will recommend it to every one of TL Swan's fans and also anyone who enjoys a good ole story of a miserable, cynical, billionaire and his fiesty sassy "FB". Happy reading ...xoxo.

I liked the concept -- meet cute on a flight, amazing lay-over (yes, pun intended), reunited one year later to discover handsome man is a media mogul billionaire that you now work for. Overall, I felt the story went a little long, featured super needy characters and the writing would've been better with more polish. For instance, how many times does the writer have her heroine "giggle"? So many, I lost count.

So this book is amazing! Un-frickin-believable. Hands down one of my favorite recent reads. It is hilarious, heartbreaking, and hot! Jameson and Emily are amazingly flawed and wonderful characters and it was a hard/sad/wonderful treat reading their character development and their sizzling chemistry, from their very first chance encounter in an airplane, right down to the last words of the story. I loved it and can’t wait to read Tristan’s story!

Wow, This book had it all. It was hot, there was buildup/ chemistry, lots of humor and over the top alphaness. I love this book. I cannot wait for Tristan's book! I fell like Emily and Jameson's relationship is like a rollar coaster. Both of their tempers are horrible but I think it adds so much humor to the book. This book was really good. The story line sucked you in and i rad this cover to cover last night. I seriously think the author outdid themselves with the start of this series.

This book. This. Book. This book officially marks the completion of my reading challenge and to be honest I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I read this in every moment I possibly could which is extremely rare for me - normally I only read when I can sit down and devote a few hours to a book. I woke up this morning and immediately started reading. I ate breakfast and read. I brushed my teeth and read. I couldn’t put it down, and I definitely didn’t want to.

This book made me feel so, so many things. I didn’t expect for it to make me feel so much and in such a raw way — I never expect to be made to feel so many things; but the way these characters interact added with their internal monologues just made the story jump out of the page and hit me in the face with feelings. Repeatedly. I very nearly cried on numerous occasions, and found myself laughing out loud and grinning whilst reading. I love books that make me show my emotions and this definitely caused that.

Jameson. Oh Jameson, how I love thee. He’s hopped straight into my “adorable male characters” shelf. He’s so bloody cute? What’s more is that he has no idea. He thinks he’s a horrible person, thinks he’s so flawed when in actual fact he is, without a doubt, the cutest character I’ve read in a long time. Em calling him an idiot certainly makes sense and definitely rings true — he really is. An adorable, cuddly, fluffy, sexy idiot. I can’t explain my love for this character but I really wish I could find the words. His character development only adds to his adorable-ness. He grows and changes so much throughout the story and even though I loved his charm at the start, nothing compares to how I feel about him now! He’s definitely one of the best fictional characters I’ve ever read, and I think I may love him. Heheh!

Emily is the type of character that I spend a lot of time searching for. I wanted a woman who is fierce, passionate, fiery, sexy, loving, loyal and downright able to stand up for herself — and Emily is exactly that! She was the perfect embodiment of my ideal character, and I loved her to pieces. She is so well crafted and fantastically written. I didn’t feel like I was reading a damsel in distress - I felt like I was reading about a woman who can hold her own, isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and also is open with her love. She is an extremely intelligent, wise, witty character with a sharp tongue (which I love). I can’t, just like with Jameson, put into words just how much I love her character. She’s an absolute shining star and one of my favourite female characters that I’ve ever read!

This story was fantastically written. It was brilliantly paced, fantastically plotted and honestly it surprised me a lot. I was worried, as I always am, that it was going to be formulaic but I’m glad to say that wasn’t the case and the twists and turns genuinely took me by surprise and took my breath away; thus heightening my aforementioned emotions!

The author has done a wonderful job of crafting some amazing characters — even the secondary characters had an immense depth to them and didn’t feel wooden or present to be a plot device. They felt part of the story, and part of characters lives. I can’t wait for future books because I need more of the Miles brothers. I really do — I cannot wait for Tristan’s story!

I would recommend this to everyone, regardless of your reading tastes. It has a lot of romance, a sprinkling of drama, a mountain of comedy and a plethora of emotions. It really does create the best mix and a fantastic story; one that I will inevitably be going back to!

I lucked out and got an ARC on this one and I'm totally calling this one - the rest of the year be damned. I know there's still 3 months in 2019 but I'm totally putting this down as my personal favorite read of the year. Yes, I've read some other great books, but T.L. Swan gave me everything I always wanted and never knew I did in The Stopover. Maybe that's because I'm usually the Dark Reads girl and this was definitely not that but Jim, Jay, Jamison Miles - I am here to tell the world I am completely in love with you, no matter how delusional that makes me sound!

The Stopover starts with just that - a flight that is going from London to NYC but gets way laid and ends up having to fly into Boston for the night due to weather. Emily Foster, a young and feisty thing is flying back from London in coach but after an incident in the airport, she's bumped up to first class. And it's there that she meets the slightly older, incredibly hot guy that's seated next to her. From the very get go, these two are funny as hell. If they aren't bantering or arguing, they're flirting up a storm. The internal monologues from Emily's side since she occupies the first chapters had me cracking up and 'Jim', her travel companion for the flight had me cracking up with half his dialogue. Between the two of them, you literally get sucked in from the very first chapter and from there, there's not a place in the book that you find yourself slipping out. When they get deferred to Boston, they end up spending the night together and to say that it's mind-blowing, off the walls sex for them with a one of a kind chemistry would be an entirely accurate statement. However, morning comes and they go their own ways - Jim to NYC and Emily, having missed her job interview in NYC back to LA. No numbers exchanged, just a crazy transatlantic flight and a night to remember.

12 months later, Emily lands her dream job in NYC as a journalist at Miles Media and what would you know? Jim just happens to be Jamison Miles, the CEO of the biggest media conglomerate in the nation and Emily's boss's boss's boss. When she's taken to the upper floors to get the tour and meet management, Jamison is in and he recognizes her on the spot. Jamison has never forgotten that night a year ago and he let's Emily know that he hasn't and that he's more than interested in her. So Jamison starts his rather bossy and brusque pursuit of Emily and that's another thing that I loved about these two. Just as on the plane when he was just 'Jim', they're both bossy, both headstrong and as Jamison refers to Emily at times, she can be a snarky bitch which she readily admits. Jamison is used to having anyone he wants without even trying and Emily is just not that girl. She gives as good as she gets and the back and forth between them is entertaining as hell. I'm so used to the billionaire books where the billionaire has all the control and some dark back secret that makes him put the heroine through a ton of angst and she let's him walk all over her while secretly hoping he'll let her in. This book refreshingly skips the usual power dynamic and unnecessary angst and puts two people together where they both stand their ground.

Jamison was a delightful alpha but when it came to Emily he was also secretly mushy as hell. He runs the gamut from scotch guzzling, uptight, bossy CEO Jamison, to slightly more relaxed and at home billionaire Jay to Emily's 'Jim' when he let's all the stress and position go and just is - that's when he's his lightest and most fun. Emily is completely unimpressed by the money, the power or anything that comes along with it - she fell for her Jim on the plane - and for Jamison this is an absolute first and makes Emily his one of a kind.

Of course, there's a side drama and a huge conflict that comes along. But the B plot was well set up and there was nothing overdone or gratuitously added. Going back and looking over my highlights, it was all there for the taking and it definitely wasn't there to pad the story. And I dug how Emily, even with where the story was at, kept herself together and took on more than most could bite off.

I could quote this book to the high heavens and God knows I have enough of them. There are some classics in here. But I'm not going to add a single one because I don't want to ruin a single line or scene in this book for anybody that decides to read it. Where's the fun in already having somebody giving you some of the all time best exchanges in the book? I will say that anyone that knows me knows that I don't go in for laughter much but even with the flu I found myself laughing so hard I was literally hacking up my lungs and massively alarming the dog.

One final note: I remember reading Mr. Masters and really loving it and I skimmed a couple of her other books also but I have to say this author has evolved with this book. Massively evolved! It has two wonderful MC's who take an organic journey filled with humor, bickering, flat out arguing, great make up sex, flirtation, lust, compromise, misunderstanding and love. I also really enjoyed some of the side characters - my God, her friend Molly has some funny moments to add in and Tristan Miles is a lovely, lovely sidepiece.

So here's to camping in New Jersey, Bessie, Manhattan public transportation with some good old fashioned groveling and a side of Viagra Mike! Long live flight delays and really hot, bossy men!

**********10 Stars and to hell with the rating system. This is my idea of perfection.

(And yes, this is a totally honest review!)

Emily and Jim meet on a plane and their flirting becomes a one night stand they both don't forget. Twelve months later, Emily gets her dream job and they meet again. I like me an arrogant alpha and loved Jameson/Jay/Jim, he didn't disappoint in the role. Emily annoyed me a little with her indecision and constant moaning about how he's apartment or money didn't impress her but then she would call her own apartment shitty. I also found it strange that given she always wanted to work for Miles Media, she didn't google the company to find out who the CEO was or any details about management. The side characters Aaron and Molly, Emily's friends, were funny and added to the story well. Overall a good story.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review

This novel was intense from the beginning. I liked how spunky and funny Emily was. I enjoyed the banter on the plane with Jameson but I did not like how controlling and arrogant Jameson turned out to be. He sexualized the entire relationship with Emily and he selfishly made it about him. He told her to dump her boyfriend and got jealous when other men spoke to her. It was a bit too much for my liking but I'm giving it three stars because I liked Emily.

I enjoyed this novel very much. The characters were extremely well drawn and sympathetic, and the story line was seamless. Highly reccomend this excellent book.

Not for me.
The romance was very poor with very little character development. The characters didn't seem to enjoy each other a whole lot outside of the bedroom. Disappointing.

Took me by surprise how much I enjoyed this book. Even when at time I wasn’t okay with scenes that happened, I could still enjoy the book these flawed characters.

I must say, there isn’t much more I love other than insta-love. This book had it! Another thing is, a women who understand she needs to be respected and hears. We had it! This book was a hit for me in many ways, I can’t even begin to explain it.

It makes me want to read more of her work, for sure.

Nice idea to be further developed
Too much bickering and fighting
Too much sex the fuck like rabbits and do not communicate
He is an ass control freak no clubbing no talk with ex
Too many many pages
Being brief is a plus somethings
But nice idea and some parts were enjiable so 2 ⭐️⭐️

Five Sexy AF Stars!!

T.L Swan is an automatic one-click author for me and she has totally outdone herself with this book! This book is so hot that you’ll need a cold drink and a fan.

A one-night stand turns into something so much more. These two had an instant connection. I loved their banter, I loved their attraction to each other. The back and forth is fun and the sexy times are freaking insanely hot.

Jameson and Emily are my newest favorite book couple.

When upgraded to first class after an incident at the airport, Emily Foster wasn't prepared for her seating companion Jim. Sitting next to an older, rich and gorgeous man, she is totally bewildered when he takes a genuine interest in her.

Not one to be spontaneous, she finds herself having the best sex of her life during a layover after far too many complimentary champagnes and flirtation that Emily hadn’t expected to lead to anything.

"I'm not this kind of girl", I remind him.

"I know", he breathes. "I wouldn't want to corrupt you."

"But there is a drought", I whisper. "So... so dry."

After their one-night stand, they part ways no strings. Fast forward twelve months, Emily lands what she believes is her dream job at Miles Media as a journalist. She is shocked to learn that she now works under CEO Jameson Miles, who is none other than hot fantasy Jim. But the fun-loving sex God has been replaced with an arrogant player demanding a repeat, and who she repeatedly wants to smack.

"Answer your fucking phone."

Find someone else in a grey skirt to suck your dick on demand. I'm not interested in the position."

Well damn, Jameson and Emily were totally combustible in each other's company. Between their bickering that was genuinely maddening and borderline insanity, the push and pull of their attraction, drove me to drink. Fortunately, this story redeems itself with the sexual tension and innuendos that were off the charts hot and so deliciously filthy. The bedroom dirty talk from both Jameson and Emily was commendable.

"Nobody has ever ridden my cock the way she did, not before, not since. Not ever."
The hickey on my neck wasn't the only thing she branded me with that night."

The Stopover is going to piss a lot of people off. With a hero that's an asshole who can't commit and a heroine that can't decide whether she's in or out, will frustrate many. As for me, I loved TL Swan's stories, and this was no different. I couldn't put it down and had no issues with the drama while fanning myself.

What a delightfully engaging, deliciously sexy, heartbreakingly painful, and wonderfully fun read! Whew! If that isn’t enough to let you know I loved this book, I just don’t have the words.

’I’ve died and gone to layover bad-girl heaven.’

This was first and foremost a fun read as Emily and Jameson bounce back and forth between intense sexual chemistry and what some might consider all-out war. Their banter was sharp and quick making me smile and laugh. And when they were in the throes of battle it was border line antagonistic and sometimes even mean. It was absolutely perfect.

While Jameson could really serve out a dishing of cold attitude, Emily was more than capable of counteracting it. She was quick to let him know what she thought of him when he acted this way. I adored her for it.

The first part of this book is filled with delicious smexy times mixed with arguments the likes I’ve never read before. But they are constantly moving forwards in their rather bizarre way. The last ¾ is when things take a turn and the angst is ramped up. So much begins to happen that I could not put this book down and found myself staying up until 3:00 a.m. to find out what was going to happen.

I did struggle some over Jameson’s behavior towards the end, and there were times that the character motivation for such actions seem to be a bit all over the place. The plotline during these times just felt somewhat loose and I would have liked things to have a tighter pull to them.

Either way, I still absolutely loved these characters and this story as a whole. I was completely engaged the entire time and it stirred pretty much every emotion that can be stirred in a romance. I really can’t express how much I enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series!

I started off really enjoying this book, but as it progressed, too many little things popped up that made it hard to like the characters. Jameson's personality was all over the place. Half of the time he acted like a petulant child, then he'd switch to alpha male to sweet lover and back again. It wasn't cohesive or believable. The way he treated Emily near the 3/4 was awful and the fact that she was so willing to go back with him after a little groveling didn't show a healthy relationship, especially because they only dated for three months- sometimes it's okay to move on. Jameson's brother, Tristan, was probably my favorite character. I believe his book is next and I though Swan's writing was good enough that I will probably pick it up. I just hope our characters are a little better developed.

What a roller coaster of a story. The chemistry between Emily and Jameson is off the charts and this book is super hot. It’s full of emotion and angsty. Some of the dialogue was overly cheesy though and at times the characters acted like teenagers. There’s a lot of eye rolling and I definitely wanted to smack them both several times. But this story is drama, drama, drama. I enjoyed the ridiculousness though and I’m definitely gonna check out more from this author.

Hot, funny, The Stopover has all of the feels! I couldn’t put this book down! I was sucked in and read it all in one sitting. Loved it.

This was my first book by the author, and will be reading more. I think she could be popular with our customers. Loved the secondary characters and the dynamics of friendship they brought to the storyline. Several good moments of interaction that had humor intertwined with romance. Not over the top steamy but maybe think twice before recommending to more conservative readers.

The Stopover is my first book by T.L Swan, but it certainly won't be my last. As it was such a well written, well paced, and brilliantly enjoyable story. With strong, realistic characters, sharp banter, and a plot line that balanced perfectly the sizzling heat Jameson and Emily generated with everything else it had going on. Including an interesting minor storyline involving a rival media mogul. Still, I must admit to finding this story a bit too long and the ending a touch abrupt and flat compared to the rest of it. Yet, nonetheless it was a totally engrossing and entertaining read. With a unique proposal that will remain with me for a long time. And it certainly kept me up far too late, which is never a bad thing in my book.

I would happily recommend it to others.

Clever and Captivating New York Romance.

This my perfect romance novel. It had just about everything I look for in a great romance and rated a 5 in just about every one of those categories. It had plenty of steam between the two main characters, dirty talk, witty repartee, bickering between the strong female heroine and the Alpha male Hero, jealously, an intriguing plot with a mystery, awesome supporting characters and more. The writing was terrific the flow and timing was excellent with no long periods where I was waiting for something to happen. I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance.

It says is is over 500 pages but it truthfully felt like only a few hundred and I rarely say that, it ever. This book went very fast with a lot of laugh out loud moments, sexy scenes and a great background storyline. It starts out with Emily Foster having a terrible day as she waits in line at the airport to check in for her flighty New York. She ends up getting bumped up to first class which has never happened before and though the guy sitting next to her let’s her have the window seat, he just won’t shut up and annoys her.

However, after talking and drinking champagne throughout the entire flight the two have become friendly. They are unable to land in New York where she has a job interview, and instead are routed to Boston for a night due to a snowstorm. After her only one night stand and the best time she has ever had, her traveling companion Jim leaves in the morning without ever asking for her number.

Fast forward one year and Emily has now had that interview at her dream job and moves to New York. On her first day at work, she meets the CEO of the company, Jameson Miles, her former one night stand. Jameson wants to pick up where they left off because he is intensely attracted to Emily. Though Emily is put off with the fact that he never even bothered to ask for her phone number. She has a boyfriend and is not interested in a few nights of fun at the expense of her dream job.

Oh my God. I have a boyfriend. Shit. “I’m so sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.” I take a step back from him. “I have a boyfriend,” I blurt out.
His face falls in horror. “What?”
“I know.” I wince. “I . . . I . . .” I shake my head because I have no words that can get me out of this. “I have a boyfriend, and I can’t go out with you.”
“Dump him,” he fires back.
“What?” I croak.
“You heard me. Dump him.” He reaches for me.

The way Jameson goes about getting Emily to agree to go out with him is pretty funny. He is a wealthy handsome Alpha male who has never heard the word “no”. So he has no idea of boundaries and it is entertaining to say the least. There is also a mystery in the office as someone In Emily’s work area is selling company secrets to the biggest competitor, who happens to be Miles’ nemesis. Emily figures out what is going on so is brought in with Jameson and his brother Tristan to help.

Tristan is one of three of Jameson’s brothers and is the head of Acquisitions at Miles Media in New York, while Elliot and Christopher both work out of the London office. Tristan is the nice guy to Jameson’s Cranky brooding type, but they work well together and Tristan plays a big part in this book. The other two do make an appearance though.

I roll my eyes in disgust. “The Miles brothers are overrated, if you ask me.”
They’re not, though. I’m lying through my teeth. All with dark hair, tall, and built . . . square jaws in their designer playboy suits. Everything about the four of them screams power and gorgeousness. Assholes.

At the end of The Stopover, we get the first Chapter of The Takeover, book 2 in the Miles High Club. If you haven’t yet guessed, since Tristan is the head of Acquisitions, this is his story and I for one, can’t wait.

Emily ends up finding herself in first class after waiting in line at the airport and someone becomes loud and obnoxious. There she meets a sexy as hell man that makes her heart race am her panties melt. They share a sexually charged flight and from there things gets hotter. fast forward months and they guy she couldn't forget was starring at her across the desk. What is a girl to do when her new boss was the guy that rocked her moths before? The chemistry between the characters was so hot and intense. I read this book twice before I even wrote this review. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.

The Stopover is book 1 in The Miles High Club. Jim and Emily meet on a flight after Emily is upgraded to First Class and a problem at the airport where they need to land leads to a stopover. Their interaction through out the flight range from funny to smoking hot. The chemistry between the two was awesome and it leads to an amazing night. Fast forward one year and Emily finally lands the job of her dreams in NYC for Miles Media and guess who is the CEO. Honestly for the majority of the book I felt that this was going to be another 5 star from this author, but unfortunately there were a few things that kept happening that I had to hold back a star. First Jim is super naughty with a dirty mouth which I love. He's bossy and dominate which was sexy especially when Emily who was cute and feisty didn't listen. What is not sexy I also found he acted like a spoiled little boy to many times for me to ignore and while I love an alpha jerk, I hated the way he treated Emily at times. Emily was great, I loved that she was feisty and loved with everything she had. I could have done without all the begging she did after an incident at the end but I did like how she didn't immediately forgive Jim. Overall I would definietly recommend this book and I look forward to more in this series.

The Stopover was a delightful read of love, trials and tribulations. It spoke to me with easy reading and the rom- com genre was addictive for Saturday reading.
I was slightly disappointed in the ending though. It just seemed to stop.
Overall; it was a fun read that I would definitely recommend.

I've always been a sucker for a good romcom, and this book's blurb drew me in. The cover and the title was pretty intruiging too, and before I know it, I've already downloaded it and started reading. There are certain elements that i look for everytime i read romcoms, the chemistry of the couple, the plot, character development and of course how the two main characters got their HEA.

So for the chemistry... boy oh boy, Jameson and Emily sure got that in spades. The attraction was undeniable, and surely those first few pages hooked me into their world. Overall, the plot was good enough to make me curious until the very last page. There were some plot twists i did not see coming, but there were also romcom cliches that you would come to expect from this genre. The only thing that I would have asked for something more was their character development, which is why i couldn't give a 5 star. I wished both Jameson and Emily's relationship had developed sooner in the story. Although of course, i can't fault the author for sticking close to how couples these days develop into their relationship. I laughed, i cried, got annoyed on some of their stupid adult mistakes, and fell in love when they kissed and made up all over again.

The ending gave me all the happy feels and contentment i seriously crave from rom com reads. If you're into books that bring sexy, romance, angst, hurt, laughter, and happy into your heart. Then you might just enjoy this book as much as i did. Happy reading!

T L Swan is a genius! There’s just no other word for it. She has brought those characters into real life and made them human like. There are times in the book where you don’t know whether you want to kick or kiss Jameson. But let’s face it I think everybody is cheering for Emily from the beginning. I was unable to put this book down.

Hot, emotionally charged, sexy, romantic love story, that keeps you gripped until the finish.

A chance meeting with a deep connection, a one night stand that reaches deeper feelings than is first realised. High powered business, a new job that throws this all into the same orbit where the fireworks really start to happen.

Emotional feelings that can't be denighed, in the hardest of personal and professional circumstances finally won through for a happy ever after ending.

A great read.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it.

Jameson and Emily meet on a plane by chance & instantly sparks fly. After one hot night together, they go back to their lives. Fast forward a year and Emily lands her dream job at Miles Media, but she’s in for the shock of her life when her new boss turns out to be the one and only Jameson. Only this time Jameson is not the same person Emily met on that plane and she is not putting up with his hot tempered attitude and games. That is where the real story begins.

Filled with humor, love, drama, heartbreak and wonderful secondary characters, this book is a true gem. Emily has balls of steal and is not letting anyone boss her around and tell her what to do. She fights with her heart and knows what she wants and how to get it out of life. While Jameson is the definition of workaholic alpha male with a temper that can shake the walls. He doesn’t know how to have both the job he was made for and the woman who he can’t stay away from.

I couldn’t stop routing for this couple even when everything hit the fan, I still held out hope. I didn’t not want this story to end. Not only was this story beautifully written but the steam was off the charts. Damn.

This is my first book by TL Swan and it definitely wont be my last. This is definitely one of my favorite books of the year.

Thank you to the Montlake Romance and NetGalley for giving me with this wonderful ARC.

I guess I'm over the whole innocent girl wins over the CEO trope. Still this did it alot better she wasn't completely innocent and the story kept pretty steaming till the end. Still I've got to admit the constant screaming and fighting cannot be seriously thought to be healthy right? At least one has to know when to take control of the situation. I felt like the anger problems between them were never solved although I am happy they found their happily ever after. I got to admit my favorite character was Tristan and would love to know his story of happily ever after.

Meeting a handsome, sexy and swoon worthy man on a long flight is the stuff dreams are made of...especially when that dream continues

I loved the banter, comments and style these two have with each other. Jameson and Emily is red hot chemistry.

This book is definitely a good read, and will keep you on the edge of your seat then whole way through!

Okay so, this book is pretty addictive. And my first TL book.

I’ve been reading reviews about her books and some people don’t like them.

Well I’m here to tell there’s no OW drama or a doormat heroine here. Nope she’s pretty kickass at giving the hero hell! When they fight it’s 100x funny.

But . . .

Isn’t there always one, their fights are kind of petty and immature but . . . Ah ha there’s a butt again.

There is a bit of drama but it has nothing to do with another woman or man for that matter.

I thoroughly enjoyed these two characters.

Here’s why:

These two have a meet cute and it starts a passion that you know is coming.

Emily is a investigative journalist. And on her way home from a wedding when she meets a man in first class.

Jim is not entirely how she expected him to be. He’s carefree and handsome. They ending up spending the night together. But never expect to see each other again until she they see each other again a year later.

Miles Media is the largest media company in the US. Her career is going to take off or so she thinks until she meets the CEO. Her one-night stand is none other than Jim.

Knocking both of them for a loop, the navigate the cesspool of knowing they have been intimate with each other. That doesn’t stop Jim from pursuing her into a FWB relationship.

But is that truly achievable? Idk. You know what to do to find out.

Let me tell you about the hero, Jim. He is not your typical rich egoistical manwhore. Once he’s in it, he’s in it. There are no ifs ands or buts. He doesn’t sleep around or cheat. And I really liked that about him.

“I could be anything, Emily Foster . . . as long as I’m with you.”

Yes. Oh FYI: he’s not a camping person. That was funny.

Book Review : The Stopover by T.L.Swan

Received ARC of the book from NetGalley.

This is the first book I read of the author and I don’t regret it.

Emily and Jim meet in a flight, flirt and spend a night together. Cut to a year later, Emily meets her new Boss Jamison Miles. Jim hasn’t still got over her and Emily is stuck between her attraction for her boss and keeping her mind sane.

Emily is feisty. I like that bit, but bits where her attraction to Jim blinding her rationality is not smoothly done. Jamison is typical alpha male, want to slap but want to kiss kinda guy (slap more than kiss).

If the romance bit was more tasteful, I would have enjoyed more.

I am always gripped by TL Swan's stories and The Stopover is another winner. The plot is super sexy, angsty, funny, infuriating and clever. I laughed, cried and held my breath in anticipation while devouring the words. You will want to read every word to find out how it works out; it is a very compelling story.

The characters are real and frustrating; as are a lot of people I know but, they both have valid reasons for being frustrating so I forgive them and love them. Emily and Jameson are absolutely zinging with sexual attraction and fit together perfectly... for one night. How exciting to have a steamy night with such sexual chemistry! When they meet again, it’s still there but things just keep happening to cause drama, doubt and heartache. What more could you ask for in a book?

I simply can’t wait for other Jameson’s brother's stories. These brothers are super sexy and full of character. Well done TL Swan, you’ve done it again.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. This is the first book in The Miles High Club. This story is about CEO Jim and sweet and lovely Emily who were met at the flight stopover. They felt an instant attraction, they spend some great time together and they moved on with their lives. They met again when Emily started to work in his Miles Media. They still have a strong connection and chemistry but Jim is not the same guy she met. He is rude and spiled snob, he drives me crazy with his bossy attitude and I'd rather slapped him. Emily is a great girl, I love her honesty and this book deserves 4 stars. Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this opportunity.

2.5 / 5 stars
I received a copy through netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own

Jameson and Emily meet on an overseas flight. There is instant attraction, flirting, and humour. After a memorable layover for both of them, they go their separate ways.

A year later Emily has moved across the country and starting a new job at Miles Media. Much to her surprise, the CEO of the company is none other than Jameson.

My most favourite part was the camping trip part; I only wish that it would have been fleshed out a bit more. Have them spend the whole weekend in the tent...

Emily and Jameson have this intense push-pull connection. At first it was endearing, but I got tired of their constant bickering, and need to be in control. They would connect, someone would say something that pissed off the other person, and then there was anger and tears and swearing. It seemed really unhealthy.

Great new novel by T L Swan that captivates, and enchants from page one with a rollercoaster romance, some incredibly cliche' but adorable side-line characters, a high-stakes intrigue plot, and some serious sizzle! You might want to save this one for reading at home!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters in The Stopover. The character development felt real, and the flow from Emily's POV to Jameson's POV was effortless and refreshing. The plot moved along at a good pace and kept my interest throughout. The mystery aspect was definitely an added bonus, although I did feel like there were some missed opportunities where that was concerned.

I don't want to give anything more away about the story than what is in the description blurb. I would recommend this book to a friend and look forward to the next book in the series.

I tried to push through with this book, but it just didn’t hold my attention. There was nothing original in this book, from the bff gay friend to the chick that tries to not be a pushover and attempts to exert her independence but fails miserably when guy snaps his fingers. DNF at 40%.

This was a fast paced book that I found to be a really good read.

I thought that the characters were very strong and believable.

This was a book that had me up way passed by bedtime because I could not put it down! Silly, sexy, romantic. I definitely need to get my hands on more books by this author, and the next one in this series!

OMG!! It was steamy, sexy and freakin’ hot!!!! There’s something about a romance that takes place at the airport, on a flight or at a hotel. A certain sultriness found nowhere else. A chance meeting between Emily and Jim in the first-class cabin sends them on a sizzling and emotional collusion course. Swan starts with a bang, then dials up the heat to full throttle. To Emily, sexual satisfaction isn’t the same as love, and she’s been burned in the past by giving her heart too freely. Jim is handsome, smart and filthy rich. When they are together, their connection is electric. Even though she meets Jim on the flight, its Jameson, the billionaire CEO she needs to accept into her life. Despite how she fights it, she falls for him. Jameson is willing to risk it all to keep Emily from slipping through his fingers. But he’s not the kind of man who wants to stake a claim and make a relationship his top priority. His job comes first, and relationships must fit in. When he decides to go all in – he GOES ALL IN. You will find yourself rooting for Jameson and wanting to throw a book at Emily’s head. I know I was. I was like, get a grip woman – this man wants to be with you, and you are fighting him at every turn. LET JAMESON LOVE YOU!!!!! Now, Emily is torn between Jim she meets on the plane and Jameson, the CEO and she is unsure whom she can trust. She will have to surrender her heart if she wants a happy ever after with the man she fell in love with and the man who wants to love her. A one-night stand leads to romance filled with major turbulence. Make sure your seat belt is fastened and enjoy this flight. The perfect MILE HIGH KINK BOOK CLUB read with great characters and lots of hot, steamy, naughty sex. The Stop Over is sure to satisfy. Stay tuned for the next book in the series, The Takeover…..

I am such a fan of TL Swan and love the way she pulls you in and makes the characters and story so exciting .
I chance meeting in first class on a plane that leads to one night between Emily and Jameson. It is fun, flirty, exciting and when then end up on a stopover it is down right steamy.
Although they go their separate ways and fate steps in !!! It is complicated, mysterious and a fight at every turn but the attraction may be too much for either of them. They can stay or walk away but friendship is not an option !!Loved it !!

2.5 stars. I'm torn with how to review this because I won't lie: I read it straight through the night and suffered from lack of sleep at the office the next day because of it. It's a very quick and easy read, but there's also nothing here that I haven't read before. This was also one of the most toxic relationships I've ever read! I found myself laughing at how ridiculous the 'relationship' was, and then I was tearing my hair out and trying not to scream in complete frustration with what was happening. But then again, I couldn't seem to put the book down and found myself staying up until 5am to finish it... So, there's that? I'm warning you now, this is a fair bit of a rant (but I've tried to reign it in as much as possible)!

My favorite part of the book had to be the friendship and banter between Emily, Aaron and Molly. I was so worried the latter would end up being bad people but I was glad to be proven wrong! Their friendship reminded me a lot of how I interact with my friends and it just felt completely natural. The interactions between these friends brought much needed comedy to the story to distract from all the silly drama between the two MCs. I initially also liked Emily's character, mostly for her drive to pursue her passion without letting anything deter her. She knew what she wanted and she went for it without letting anything hold her back. It's a pity that all but disappeared the minute Jameson came into her life. She mildly protested every now and again but it's like her backbone shriveled up whenever he came around.

Like I mentioned, this was one of the most toxic relationships I've ever read. Emily and Jameson/Jim/Jay's relationship yo-yo'd from getting into ridiculously blown out of proportion fights over (literally) nothing, to jumping straight into bed for wild sex. It took a really long time for them to even get to the point where they would try being civil and having normal conversations without blowing up; and even then it didn't really last long most of the time. The basis of their relationship was physical and in my opinion, it never really progressed out of that phase by the end. I will say though that their physical chemistry was off-the-charts. If you don't like explicit sexual scenes in books, this will not be for you! If I had to rate the heat out of 5, it'd be a solid 5 though lol

For someone who's meant to be an "older man", Jay was the most immature rich CEO character I've encountered. He was petulant, emotionally unavailable and often times acted like a really big man-child, and at his office no less. He would be cruel and cold one minute and in the next he'd be messaging Emily, demanding she go with him to dinner, as if he hadn't just treated her like trash not too long back? I wanted to slap him so hard. What gave me hope the first time was that she would say no and I'd be like HELL YEAH EMILY! And then in the next scene she'd cave and they'd end up screwing like rabbits before the night's out. GIRL, PLEASE! At the same time though, towards the end of the book, I found myself curled over with laughter over some of Jay's drama queen antics--especially during the camping scene. It was actually hilarious and 100% amusing? Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to redeem his character from start to finish. There were other inconsistencies with the events in the book that had me scratching my head for a while before shrugging and moving past it because I was more concerned with other issues in the book.

All in all, I finished this book laughing in bewilderment (at myself mostly) and I was genuinely curious whether this is what people felt when they finished reading the After series. I'm referring to the people who acknowledge that the relationship in that series was toxic AF and yet they STILL couldn't put that book down. Is this how you felt?? Haha I'll still never read that series, but after reading this book, I do think I get what you mean with your comments 😂

Somebody crank up the A/C, because The Stopover by TL Swan was HOT!

Emily Foster found herself upgraded to a first class seat on a flight home from a crappy trip, seated next to a sexy stranger named Jim, and taking full advantage of an overnight weather induced layover with said sexy stranger. After a steamy night of the best sex of her life, of course she was bummed that Jim didn’t so much as ask for her number before he left the next morning without looking back. Fast forward to a year later as she’s touring the upper management floor of her new dream job, and who else does she see sitting before her in the CEO’s chair other than Jim…or Jameson Miles, CEO of Miles Media as he’s better known to his friends, family, and colleagues.

There are so many things that I loved about this book. Let me count the ways…

1: As frustrating and as much of pains in the butts as they could both be, I loved everything about Jameson and Emily. Emily is a “take no $@*#” kind of gal. She doesn’t let anyone push her around. She stands up for what she believes. And, she’s not afraid to ask for what she wants. She’s also got a quick wit and a dirty mouth which makes her a character you can’t help but love, even when she’s being impossibly stubborn. On the other hand, we’ve got Jameson…a stressed out CEO with the weight of the world on his shoulders that’s not used to hearing the word “no”. He’s bossy. He’s domineering. He commands attention and respect. And sometimes, he’s unlikeably cold. But, he’s got a soft spot for Emily which lets us see his sweeter side. And, hot dang is this man sexy as all get out! The dynamic between these two is so fun to watch. They fight. They make up. Repeat. At the end of the day, their pull to each other is magnetic and so much more than hot sex.

2. The supporting cast in this book is amazing! They balance out our hero and heroine in all of the best ways while being completely hilarious at the same time. They add a fun break to the roller coaster that Emily and Jameson have us riding on with them.

3. This book is over 500 pages. I was a little overwhelmed at the thought of the length going in to this book. But as I got into it, it seemed like the book flew by. I found myself saying “ok, just one more chapter” for 3 hours straight. I couldn’t put it down, and I finished it in a day and a half!

4. Did I mention this book is STEAMY?!? The sexual pull is the foundation of their relationship at the start of it, and we went along on that ride with them from chapter two on! *fans self*

5. The ending was EXACTLY what I needed it to be in every single way. EXACTLY…

The Stopover is the first book in the Miles High Club series, but it reads as a standalone. I’m already hooked on this band of brothers, so I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! Great book. Great characters. Great story (with a tiny hint of mystery). Great romance. Great everything. I’ll be swooning over this one for a hot minute.

Loved the push/pull of this romance. Jameson is hot and yet aloof and Emily is like a new butterfly, dying to try her wings out. Sometimes they frustrated me with their hot and cold dialogue but they held my interest.

This author is a favorite of mine and with good reason. She pays attention to small details, presents a well thought out plot line and writes the most intriguing conversations!

I became a big fan of T. L. Swan's writing after reading her book MR. MASTERS. That remained my very favorite, but I think after reading, THE STOPOVER, it is right up there with that book. There is a camping scene in this book that is just hilarious. I was laughing so much, that I had to stop and read the entire camping part to my husband. He was laughing, too. He didn't have to know anything else about the characters. It was that good! It was my favorite part of the book. There are other parts of the book that were good, and a good deal of angst. But the book was worth reading for just that camping part alone.

Emily Foster was on a flight to New York, City. Due to an ugly incident in the airport, Emily is moved up to first class. This was a real treat for her. Also it was a treat to be sitting next to the best looking man, she ever had the pleasure to meet. Each glass of champagne only seemed to make him even more attractive. The flight to N.Y. City was rerouted due to bad weather. That is how Emily and “Jim” ended up sleeping together in Boston. Thus the title: THE STOPOVER.

Emily knew she would always remember this magical night. Then “Jim” ups and leaves for a flight back to N.Y. City first thing in the morning. She was certain that he had felt the insane chemistry and attraction that she had experienced. It was the best mind-blowing sex of her life. And by the way he couldn't get enough, she knew he had enjoyed it, too. But then why did he leave without even getting her phone number?? Since she had missed her job interview in New York, it was a perplexed and disappointed young woman who boarded a plane to return home to L.A.

A year passes, when Emily is finally in N.Y. She now has the opportunity of all opportunities. A job with Miles Media. It is the biggest conglomerate media empire in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The biggest surprise is when she meets her new boss. Jameson Miles has inherited control of the family empire: Miles Media Holdings. He walks around his desk and holds his hand out to shake hers, and introduces himself as “Jameson Miles.” Emily suddenly realizes, It's him! He is the layover guy who never asked for her number. She would have been more shocked if she knew what he considered the stupidest thing he had ever done. It was never asking for her number!

This book was a pleasant surprise! I've never read TL Swan before, but I definitely plan on devouring the rest of this series. It was refreshing and extra entertaining to have such strong-minded and fiesty characters. Jameson can be combative and moody, and is used to getting his way. Well, Emily is definitely no submissive wallflower. She's sassy, fiesty, not afraid to speak her mind. The back and forth banter was fantastic and real, and sometimes frustrating. I definitely wanting to shake these two at points.

What I wasn't expecting, though, was to cry. Okay, so this love story isn't the kind with one big problem that eventually is resolved with a HEA. There were multiple bumps and bruises they had to move past together. However, in the last 30% or so, the heartache Em and Jim faced broke me. Tears running down my face.

I loved every minute of The Stopover and had a hard time putting it down. I can't wait for the next book!

Loved it!
I’m a huge TL Swan fan. This is the first book in a brand new series- Miles High Club.
Jameson drove me crazy with his indecisive B.S. but I held out hope that he would commit.
Emily was just fabulous. My heart hurt for all she went through and I’m relieved she got her happy ending.

Holy Mary mother of Jesus!! Wow!!! This book was off the charts hot! I’m a HUGE fan of TL Swan and her books, each book have gorgeous, sexy, hot AF alpha men that have you swooning from the get go. The stopover has this and more, I had a mixture of emotions reading this book, it was funny, sad and my god the chemistry, I thought "Gym Junkie" was hot, Jameson and Emily took it to a whole other level.

It was definitely hot in The Miles High Club!! I can’t wait for the next one!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emily had flown to London for a friend’s wedding only to run into her ex and his latest arm candy. She is totally exhausted and due to an unruly customer in line she finds herself upgraded to first class from London to New York. She is really impressed by the food, champagne and the service. She is not minding the blue-eyed man sitting next to her either. They spend time on the flight laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Emily finds herself extremely drawn to this man. When the plan has an unexpected stopover, they are dance and laughed the all around Boston. The night they spent together was filled with passion Emily had never experienced before. After an amazing night Emily was disappointed he did not ask for her number. She leaves Boston expecting never to see him again.
A year later Emily has finally gotten her dream job at Miles Media. As part of the first day she is shown around the office and she meets the CEO. She is surprised to find the man who has repeatedly shown up in her nightly dreams for the last year sitting behind the desk.
Jameson Miles is just as surprised as Emily to have her in his office working at his company. Will Emily be able to resist Jameson? Will they even have a chance at a real relationship? Will their stubbornness keep them apart? Will Emily have to give up her dream job?
I really enjoyed the plot of this book. I really like the characters and I especially liked that they had a relationship that was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. This book was very steamy. In some way maybe a little too steamy. I do look forward to the books to follow about Jameson’s brothers. I would recommend this book but only with the steamy warning.

I had a difficult time with this story. It is my first by this author and it did not impress me. I found the main characters to be confusing and contrary. Emily kept waffling between being shy “I’m not really that kind of girl” to … not. And she is vengeful. “ … he can apologize and beg for me to come back, and then I can punish him …” Jameson came across as implacable and jealous. Other than the smoking hot insta-lust, I couldn’t justify any deep emotion between them as they always seemed to be fighting. The characters I did like were Aaron and Molly. There was a little mystery that kept me going but otherwise it took effort to read this story to the end.

An enjoyable read about Jameson and Emily who meet on a stopover diverted away from New York.
As the story contains various surprises and an embezzlement there is much to enjoy.
I would love to read more by TL Swan.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review.

Undeniable immediate attraction, push & pull, mystery and angst. T.L. Swan at her finest! I was pulled in from the get go and could not put this down! The chemistry between the characters is palpable. This is a must read!
Can't wait for what's to come next from T.L.Swan!

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

This story has a lot of the elements I most like in books: a hero who is a jerk, who is a billionaire CEO, who has a dirty-mouth. And I liked Jameson a lot, but it took me some time to get into the story and then it became flat at some moments and then it picked up the pace again.

Overal I liked it. It was interesting, but maybe too long? I think the issue wasn't the lenght of the book, but how it pulled me and then pushed me. I liked it but it didn't quite reach the mark. I will say this though, I enjoyed the story more from the second half of it on. I think it needed a bit more editing, but overal I enjoyed it.

And althouh I like a jerkish hero, Jameson was maybe too mercurial at times. And that was a bit frustrating in some scenes. But the heroine didn't help sometimes either. I did feel the chemistry between them and I liked them as a couple a lot.

This was my first book by T.L. Swan and I liked it more than I originally thought I would from the first half of it. I'll keep my eyes out for the next releases, because I want to see how the writing in the next books mature.

„This man is everything I’m not looking for, but he’s somehow ticking every box.”

Wow, what a ride! The Stopover was my first read from TL Swan, but it sure won’t be the last! Emily and Jameson’s story was a real rollercoaster, full of inescribable lust and constant banter. This book is like a clash of characters, with strong tempers and even stronger chemistry. The whole plot was unpredictable, just like our characters behaviour. And I loved every second of this journey!

Unpleasant situation at the airport resulted in upgrading Emily’s ticket to the first class. That’s where she met Jameson- handsome, sophistcated man with whom she spent the unexpected stopover. Their night was full of passion and unforgettable memories. One year later Emily started a new job in her dream company. And as it turns out the CEO is none other than her one-night stand from last year. He wants to to pick up where they left off. She wants to keep things professional and don’t mix the business with pleasure. Especially, when CEO-Jameson is nothing like the fun and carefree guy she remembers. Instead she deals with an arogant and commanding jerk, who thinks that world evolves around him. But it is possible to stay indifferent, when the chemistry is so strong? How can they ignore the lust that’s pouring from every fiber of their bodies?

This couple is explosive, whether they’re arguing or getting intimate. I was seriously expecting some kind of boom, because their characters were so similar. The constant push and pull was driving me insane, but at the same time I loved every second of Jameson and Emily’s intense relationship. TL Swan paired a total alpha with very strong heroine and that resulted in a combustible combination. I loved to see how they tried to find some compromise, to control themselves and work on their relationship. Because their connection? That’s something unique and remarkable.

I highly recommend this story, but you need to equip yourself with patience. Jameson and Emily can easily drive a person crazy with their constant bickering. But the conclusion is worth every single frustrating argument between these two. Brilliant story! I can't wait to read about other Miles brothers.

I’ve read quite a few books by TL Swann and enjoy her work. Be forewarned, you won’t find a lot of character development in her books, but you will find lots of sex and over-the-top relationship drama. If you like a push-and-pull romance with lots juvenile behavior and temper tantrums from your hero and heroine, then The Stopover is where it’s at. Her formula isn’t for everyone, but this is a easy read and will have you hooked for the next installment in the Miles Brothers series.

Spoiler alert - This older man/younger woman, troubled billionaire romance starts off with sweet young thing, Emily, and hot billionaire CEO, Jim meeting during a transatlantic flight. After hours of flirting and sexy banter, their flight is delayed and they spend a steamy, sex-filled night together. Alpha-male, Jim, rocks Emily’s world, but sadly doesn’t get her number. They don’t see each other for another year until she coincidentally lands a job at his family’s publishing company.

On a tour of her new office, Emily is taken to meet the boss who’s is none other than, Jameson Miles, her hot one-night stand, Jim. Emily can’t believe it’s him! Surprise! Jim still wants her and sets about luring her into a friends with benefits arrangement. Emily just wants to do a good job at work and try not to get her heart broken by the boss.

In between the push-and-pull drama, Emily and Jim have a lot of arguments and sex...and more arguments and more sex. ;). There is an element of a mystery at work that they work through (guess who saves the day). In the end, underneath his hot alpha male persona is a sweet man who wants someone to love and accept him and Jim and Emily get their HEA.

Another amazing 5 star story by TL Swan. Since I discovered this author a few months ago, I can’t seem to get enough of her great stories.

Emily met Jim on a plane, they have a stopover due to bad weather. They connected and spent an unforgettable night together. Now a year later they meet again. He owns the company she started working for. Things are about to get very interesting.

This was a very humorous kind of story. Jim is a broody, stressed out CEO. She doesn’t take his crap and she’s not a pushover. The bantering between these 2 is quite funny and highly entertaining.

Beautifully written with a seamless plot that sucked me in the world of the imagination. I was addicted and entertained until the very last page read. The characters were perfectly created. It is also suspenseful. Bottomline this is a must read.

Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

3.5 stars

I can't believe I'm going to say this but, I wondered all the way through the first half of this book if they were going to do anything other than have sex. I mean, seriously, like every other page they were going at it again. They did seem a little sated towards the last 1/4 of the book but it took away from the story for me. I would have liked for the characters to spend a little more time fully clothed and a little less time bickering. The push and pull, all the back a forth wore on me a little. Having said all that, I did enjoy the book. This is my first read from T.L. Swan and will likely read the rest of the series.

I received an ARC of this book and am so grateful. It is pure romance that had my rooting for Emily and "Jim" from the very beginning. They don't have the most conventional start to their relationship as they meet on an airplane and spend a special night together during a layover, but their relationship really takes off when Emily gets her dream job working for "Jim's" company. The sparks, banter and undeniable attraction kept me engaged and not wanting to put the book down!

Such a great story. This was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. Jim and Emily meet on a plane ride and have some hot chemistry. He doesn’t ask for her number and they don’t see each other again. Emily moves to New York for her dream job at Miles Media, where she sees Jim. They begin a messy relationship. They are both very hot headed and don’t back down from an argument. I loved how Emily was a strong woman and didn’t let her carnal urges take over her reasoning. There were so many times he broke her heart through this book that I wasn’t sure if she’d ever give him a real shot. My heart broke right along with hers.
The writing was so amazing, I got lost in the story and characters and I devoured this book in 1 day. I most definitely will read more books from this author.
My review was given honestly via an ARC from Netgalley.

This is my first TL Swan read but I know it won't be my last. I love finding new to me authors at I know I will search out again. The Stopover is the beginning of the Miles High Club and if you are about a bossy alpha male then I think you should check out this series. You will meet the four Miles brothers and they are used to getting what they want. In this book we have Jameson the CEO as our lead.

As the CEO for Miles Media Jameson is too busy for love and relationship. So when an attractive woman who honestly doesn't know who he is, he lets his guard down a little and decides to have some fun during the long flight from London to New York. He wasn't prepared for the longing and feelings that would stick with him long after he was gone. Pleasantly surprised a year later when she shows up as their newest employee.

Emily has been working towards her dream job at Miles Media for years. Finally after many interviews and a year later she has finally landed that job. She is jumping right into the management floor. Moving herself from California to New York alone to follow her dreams. Imagine her surprise when she is taken in the CEO's office for introductions and finds Jim her life changing one night stand during a layover.

This book was a constant push and pull between a bossy man used to getting what he wants, including woman falling at his feet and a smart sassy young woman who is independent, refusing to be pushed around. As they navigate their way into each others lives slowly, they are meet with company issued to add to the stresses. Will they be able to ride the waves and come out unharmed and together or will waves cause Jameson to choose business over love? Ms. Swan does a great job of mixing in some suspense throughout this book, that will keep you reading to the end to see what really happened.

I wonder which Miles brother will get his story next?

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book that was so well executed. I loved it! It grabbed ahold of me and wouldn’t let go. The angst is some of the best I’ve read and the chemistry was perfect with lots of steamy scenes. And did I mention that I loved it?
It put lots of smiles on my face and at other times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. It had all the feels and was just the rollercoaster I was hoping for. I’m going to read every book I can get my hands on from this author. She’s my new favorite. ♥️
What I loved:
• The Writing
• Emily (my favorite female heroine yet)
• Jameson (I actually love him and hate him)
• The Angst
• The Camping Trip
• HEA
This was a stand-alone but there will be other books about the brothers! Yay!
This was a NETGALLEY book and all opinions are my mine. I loved it and want all my friends to read it!

One of the best romances this year!

What a terrific book! Strong, sexy characters, corporate intrigue, an amazing cast of friends and co-workers, loads of witty and intelligent humor, and a writing style that had me hooked from the very first line. Jameson's pursuit of Emily nearly borders on harassment, except that she can't say, even to herself, that it's unwanted. Still, she's no pushover, and has no trouble standing her ground and defending her priorities.

I really enjoyed the complex story, and I appreciated the fact that their "one night stand, one year ago" didn't result in the far-too-common secret baby trope. This story doesn't take any of the predictable paths, instead taking the reader on a truly unique adventure, a romance that is everything a love story should be while still feeling fresh and original. The HEA perfectly ties up all the story threads and leaves us wishing for our own entry to the Miles High Club. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I had never read anything by bestselling author TL Swan but the book info at NetGalley for this advanced copy of The Stopover, the first in “Miles High Club” series—a meet cute on an airplane resulting in a steamy, earth shaking one night stand and later learn that the handsome stranger will be her boss’s boss—well, how could I resist?

The story is a page turner from the beginning with likable characters—a snarky, smart heroine who IS NOT a pushover, a woman who professes her love of romance books—
“I just love true stories, regardless of what they are.”
“So do I,” I reply. “That’s why I love romance. It’s true.”
—and a handsome, powerful man who ends up changing his ways for the love of a woman worthy.

Jameson Miles, our Mr Darcy-like alpha male, has never really been in love with anyone or anything but his company, yet that is about to change when newly-arrived to NYC Emily Foster steps into her dream job as a reporter at Miles Media. But deception is afoot when corporate stock takes a tumble, and it is revealed company secrets, as well as millions of dollars, are stolen. Who is the culprit? When Jameson is set up and Emily looks to be the traitor, all seems lost for this couple.

A few quibbles: 1) Jameson has “big blue eyes”, “big, bright eyes”, “beautiful deep-blue eyes”, “piercing blue eyes”, “blazing blue eyes”, “brilliant blue eyes”... the repetition of the same words to describe this feature seemed lazy and annoying; 2) his ex-fiancé is described to be with a London barrister now but then later, it seems like that detail is lost; and 3) there is this entire build up about someone stealing Miles Media news stories for another media source—and that seems to have been forgotten as well when the chaos of embezzlement hits. But as I loved the story and these characters so much—and can’t wait to read more about the Miles brothers—I did not let these points hinder my enjoyment.

So much to recommend: suspense, intrigue, passion, and that push-and-pull we love in a romance novel. Perfect read to snuggle under the blankets with as the autumn chill arrives.

Rated Mature for provocative sex and nudity.

This is not the type of book I would normally read and on the first two chapters I was thinking what I have let myself in for but after that I felt I could not put the book down.
I love that the book is big and beefy which I love as I know I can snuggle down for a long read.
It is a typical Cinderella Rich man meets middle class lady and it blossoms from there but not smoothly. They are Jameson and Emily. They meet on a plane and have a wonderful night together when the plane is diverted because of bad weather. They do not meet again until 12 months later when Emily starts a new job in New York, and she was shocked and surprised when she finds out that Jameson is her new boss.
I found I got totally engrossed in the story the chemistry between the two was electric the banter great. The story was well written and emotional I had a tear in my eye a few times. Well done to the author I have now put her name on my list of authors to read.

I had high hopes for this book. The premise of two characters meeting in an airplane and having an unforgettable night followed by meeting unexpectedly in the future had me all excited. However, that excitement didn't last. The push and pull between the characters drove me nuts. Jameson almost seemed bipolar at times. One moment he was all in and the next he was sabotaging his relationship. And Emily was often witchy for no reason or a complete pushover. She had the backbone of a wet noodle. This book also had a lot of extra stuff that didn't enhance the story in my opinion. I still cannot understand the whole Claudia thing. I get that some of it was needed for the story but not all of it. It just made a VERY long story feel even longer.

That being said, I still appreciate this author and her hard work. I know that she is dedicated to writing a solid story and works hard at her craft. This is just an example of the power of books because even though this was not a book for me it seems from the reviews that it was for them. AND that is what is important.

Unfortunately, this was not the book for me. I didn't like the constant back and forth between Jameson and Emily. Since they kept breaking up and getting back together, it made the book a lot longer than necessary. I also thought Jameson was a huge asshole and I'm tired of the asshole male love interest. I was actually more interested in the Miles Media mystery and the side characters, so I was a bit disappointed that everything was quickly resolved with little explanation.

This book... it kinda gutted me. It’s a very, very intense and emotional read that hooked me from the beginning. The author’s writing makes it easy to get lost in the story, and I felt like I was running through all of the same emotions as our heroine. It is quite the journey, and I loved the ride.

The story follows Emily, a young reporter who gets upgraded to first class on her plane ride and winds up flirting and bantering with her seatmate, Jim. They open up to each other in a way that they wouldn’t normally, knowing that they’ll never see each other again. When the plane gets detoured overnight, they wind up spending a sexy evening together, creating some unforgettable memories. Twelve months later, Emily still looks back on that night fondly - so when she discovers that the CEO of the company at her new job is none other than her one night stand, she’s not sure what to think. But Jameson in everyday life is not the same Jim that she met on the plane; he is powerful, demanding and used to being in control. He wants a repeat of their night together, but Emily isn’t so sure she likes the man she’s getting to know.

It’s a total push/pull relationship that’s real, raw and a struggle because they fell for the people they are deep down, not the people they are on the surface. I loved this concept; it felt so fresh and unique, but 100% believable - Jameson can’t let his guard down like that with most people, and he never would’ve if he’d expected to see Emily again. It’s an incredibly sensual book with countless sex scenes, but each one is unique and so intimate that they really showcased where these two are in their relationship. There were times when I was completely turned off by Jameson (as was Emily), but I could never give up on him entirely. Glimpses of the man underneath the surface really made this book, and the pages flew by. This is a 500 page book and I read it in 24 hours - that tells you how much I enjoyed it. Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this intense and sexy book, and am most definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.

My heart sighed and cried with this romance novel- in fact, it is one of my favorite romances this year! Push this to the top of your reading list! Just insta- buy this! You will not regret it- just please treat yourself and buckle yourself in for one hot ride!

Emily gets boosted to first class where she meets her seat mate, Jim. Flustered and sexually charged, Emily and Jim have instant chemistry. With the help of an extended flight and layover, Emily and Jim spend a steamy and forever altering night together. The one con?! He doesn't ask for her number... A year later Emily gets her dream job and runs into the one who got away. But Jim is definitely not what she expected, he is entirely different and more...

This novel was very well done. It was relatable yet made me laugh. The author did a great job in pulling apart what makes relationships work and what makes them tick. I loved everyone in this book not because they were perfect but because of their innate flaws. I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars!!! This is my first book I've read by TL Swan and I would be interested in reading more.

This is definitely worth the buy! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #NetGalley #TheStopover

4 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first read by this author and I was really pulled in by the burb but I had no idea that this book was 500+ pages long!!!!
Strangely enough that didn't seem to matter much to me once I started reading it, as this was essentially a pretty good story and I really did enjoy the writing. I was hooked almost immediately!!!

I really loved and enjoyed the chemistry and flirtatious interactions between Jameson and Emily, there were definitely many hilarious and laugh out loud moments here as well as some eye rolling and twitchy moments but I felt that this was mainly due to the inclusion of more drama than I necessarily would have cared for in this otherwise engaging and entertaining read. Overall though this book did have a really good vibe for me and I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

A SOPHISTICATED ROM-COM WITH A GENEROUS SIDE OF DRAMA.

We have a sassy heroine (Emily) and a slightly bipolar hero - Jameson and his alter ego Jim.

This is my first book by this author and I have conflicting feelings. The story had lots of potential and I thought the first part of the book was cute and funny but as it progressed the characters became unlikable and mean. The writing style was not my favorite either, there were so many plot holes. I finished it mostly to see how bad it could get.... Just no!

I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

Emily and Jim meet on a flight to New York, where Emily is finally going to have her chance to take an interview for her dream job as a reporter for Miles media!
But fate is not (or maybe it is on her side) when due to a storm the plane is diverted to Boston and she spends the hottest sexiest night of her life with Jim, the hottest guy she's ever met and a one night stand she can't and probably won't ever forget!!
Move on 1 year and she's in New York again for her 2nd chance at a job with Miles Media! Of course she walks into the interview to none other than Jim, who is actually Jameson Miles, the CEO!!
I was thoroughly entertained by this book. Jim was definitely a man with issues!! over the top, jealous, alpha, that most of the time had me in giggles. He was definitely a handful and not only in the bedroom if you get my drift!!! Beneath his issues he really was a good guy!! T
I really liked Emily, and her no filter, she definitely wasn't letting Jim have an easy time and challenged him at every step!! She pushed at every one of his boundaries and i loved it !!
Super supporting characters and at times even with my frustrations with Jim and Emily i found myself in fits of laughter. We get it all in this book, the serious side, the fun, and the emotional upheaval along with a mystery!

A story of two alphas one male and one female. The story of Emily and Jameson. Yet, when she meets Jameson on her way back from her girlfriend's wedding in London, he greets her as Jim.
He’s carefree, light, jovial. In fact, she disliked him, really most men. You see she had run into her ex with his new main squeeze at the wedding. This guy kept bugging her once she started drinking and loosening up so she could enjoy his humor and forwardness.
By the time they were ready to become part of the Miles high club, they find out they can’t land in NY. They will be landing in Boston. Well, now it was on. In the morning no last names were exchanged or phone numbers.
Imagine the surprise when they meet again at her new job. See how relationship or non-relationship begins. How you have a man born with way too much wealth and no real-life experience becomes enamored with a woman who could care less who he is, about his wealth, or his power and standing in life. She wants none of that.
She wants to show him how to have fun like real people. The antics are so funny. They are a very sexual couple, a passionate voice when upset, and very alpha personalities. They are not afraid, to use their self-power. To protect themselves and those they love.
The characters are fast-paced and enjoyable to read about from the very start. Held my interest.

I don't usually go for office romance but this book ticked off all the right points in my list for a great story.
Quirky heroine, demanding boss and a banter to die for. The chemistry and intimacy were out of charts and there's always a mix of good angst, suspense and love above all.
The dominance and power balance is very well done in this story as I know some people may have a struggle with that. I really recommend this story to all my bookish friends.
Another great story from the author.

What a wild ride The Stopover was. I found myself completely caught up in the story. In fact, I feel like I hardly put the book down. Not to mention the romance! There was definitely a lot of steamy scenes. A lot.

I found Emily to be an incredibly witty and fun main character. Her snark made me smile. Plus, the banter between her and Jameson had me laughing out loud on many occasions. I could definitely see how opposites attracted in this book and found myself enjoying it.

As for the story itself, it was interesting and entertaining. The back and forth did frustrate me a bit just because there was so much bouncing between being together and not. Although, admittedly a lot of the emotions and actions were believable. There was a lot of hot and cold, hot and cold, and so on. It was tough to keep up with at times.

In the end, I really did enjoy this book. I stayed up way past my bedtime because I could not put it down. Not to mention, I almost woke my husband up a couple times from laughing so hard.

The stopover
By: TL Swan

Hot, Steamy and funny

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

In the first book in The Miles High Club series we get a look into Jameson and Emily’s love story. When a chance meeting during a flight the chemistry is palpable but nothing comes of the attraction. Fast forward a year and Emily is now working for Jameson. Yikes😳! Can they work together? The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him until today. I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk. But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities.I just got an email. He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m. Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace. What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

A great start to a new series!

Emily meets Jim on a flight from London to New York. But when they can't land in New York and have a stopover in Boston, they share a night of passion that will haunt them both. A year later, Emily gets her dream job at Miles Media in New York and comes face to face with Jim ... who is really Jameson Miles the CEO of Miles Media. Will Emily and Jameson be able to capture that same chemistry in their real lives?

Like Emily ... I loved Jim, but I really didn't like Jameson ... what a jerk! And I'm being nice when I say "jerk" ... I was really thinking something more like a$$hole! I can't believe that Emily kept going back to him. I laughed so hard when she took him on that camping trip. I could just see him turning his nose up at Bessie, the tent and the air mattress. But as the story went on, Jameson began to grow on me and by the end, my opinion of him was totally different from the beginning. But from the start, I really like Jameson's brother Tristan and I can't wait for his book!

I received an early copy courtesy of Amazon Publishing UK through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

The book was entertaining and the romance had a few unexpected roadblocks. I liked the chemistry between Emily and Jameson, but the way he treated her pissed me off at times and I wanted to smack him every time he referred to her as a bitch. I loved Aaron and Molly and how supportive they were even when dealing with their own personal drama. The author repeated the same phrases over and over which got annoying, but overall this was a good read and I'm interested to see how the series plays out with the other Miles brothers.

I haven't read anything from Ms Swan before but after devouring this one I will be back for more. I thought that this might be a light and fluffy quick read but I was wrong it was so much more.

Emily meets Jim an amazingly hot businessman on a plane. When their flight is grounded they spend an scorching hot night together then go their separate ways the next morning. Emily never forgets him and imagine her shock when arrives for the first day at her dream job and finds that Jim is no more than the CEO of Miles Media Jameson Miles.

Jameson has never forgotten her either and persuades her to embark on a passionate friends with benefits relationship with him. The story becomes more when reporter Emily realizes that something is very wrong at Miles Media. An article that she wrote turns up in a competitors newspaper and it becomes obvious that someone is trying to bring Jameson and Miles Media down with help from an insider in the company. This corporate espionage puts Emily and Jameson's future in jeopardy as he fights to save his company.

This is a very intriguing story with a great cast of characters. Emily is incredibly strong and determined and a great match for Jameson, who underneath his corporate tough guy persona is very insecure about falling in love. I couldn't put it this book down until I found out who the villain was a secret that is not revealed until the very end.

The Stopover is a delicious trifecta of hot, funny, and sexy. This was my first T.L. Swan book and whoa do I feel late to the party. Usually, I'm ok with that because then I can gorge on all their earlier works... but I have the distinct feeling I've been gypping myself. I think I can console myself that this book was the first of the Miles High Club series.

Those of you who know me know I absolutely love characters with good banter and zing! that just spark off the pages... and oh boy, do Emily and Jameson have that in spades! From the moment they meet to the last page their relationship is that addicting type of give and take.

And not only do we have characters that give good pa! but T.L. gives us a strong heroine! I love a good female lead. Emily gave as good as she got. There were a couple of times when maybe she went a bit over the top but so does Jameson so... I will take it. Emily didn't go meekly into the night, she stood strong. The second he apologizes (and he screwed up a lot!), she didn't run back turning into a simpering miss, No! she held her own and kept her own mind. That! my darling is a plus, plus, plus for me.

Jameson/Jim/Jay (and all his 2 thousand saucy personalities) was no slouch either. He was hot, sexy, grumpy, cocky, and sometimes a bit high handed but he really tried to do right once his flash of temper ran down. I absolutely love it when we get to see the growth of characters, especially these impossibly grumpy men we love to watch grumble and alpha up the pages.

I was a little daunted when I saw this was 500+ pages, but honestly, once I got started, I had a hard time putting the book down. I literally had to bargain with myself on when I could read because I just wanted to put everything else on hold and gorge myself. The Stopover was deliciously addicting.

I absolutely recommend this book and am waiting on bated breath for the next book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for this generously provided ARC!

3.5 stars!

The Stopover is the first book in The Miles High Club Series and my first read by T.L. Swan. Let me first say this is a really good story that I found addictive and well-written. Overall, I definitely enjoyed it more than I didn't. I liked the banter between Jameson and Emily, and I found myself laughing out loud a few times (the camping scene was hilarious). Together they have off-the-chart chemistry, they're flirtatious, and like to work each other up, but personally I had so many mixed feelings about Jameson. He was wayyyy to moody and pushed my buttons wrong sometimes. This is definitely one of those times when I find myself in the minority considering the other reviews and ratings and I was really close to giving this book four stars, but I settled on a 3.5 stars because while I really loved parts of it, there were some things that bothered me....I don't know. I guess the constant drama and fights between the MCs just didn't really work for me and that prevented me from falling in love with this book. That being said, I will definitely read the next book in the series featuring Jameson’s brother, Tristan because he truly was an amazing secondary character in this book.

Sadly I had to DNF this at 40%. I thought that the characters were immature and really irritating. They were either having sex or arguing, and I was so bored reading about it. I can't even believe there is another 60% left! Jameson was a total nut job in my opinion, he spied on Emily through cctv at work, I think he got her phone number illegally from the employer files, he was controlling, possessive and a bit of a dick to be honest! When will books stop glamourising this kind of behaviour and relationship? Emily.. Well her personality was all over the place. The writing was quite cringe worthy, the dialogue and so called banter miserable. I just couldn't read on. The only reason I read so far, was because this was rated highly by a few friends on Goodreads. I do apologise to any friends I have who did like this, and I did give it a fair try. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this!

This is my first TL Swan ARC and read. I got it from NetGalley. The blurb lured me in, and so here we are.

I'm so glad I discovered TL Swan and chanced upon this book. There wasn't a dull moment. Every chapter piqued my interest and kept me wanting for more. It kept me on my toes and kept me guessing—will they or not?

I was riveted from the first page to the last. Everything went on so smoothly... the pacing was great, the characters were fascinating and the overall story itself was gripping.

Normally, I hated a lot of push and pull but it was done so seamlessly that it all works out and was really needed in the story. I hadn't rolled my eyes even once... I loved everything!

Discovering this awesome author was such a breath of fresh air... I must've been living under a rock. I checked her goodreads profile and I feel so embarrassed because I missed out on a lot of great reads from her. But don't worry, I'm going to rectify that very soon.

And just incase it's not obvious, yes. I'm completely gushing about Jameson and Emily's story and I can't wait to read Tristan's next!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC of The Stopover (Book 1 of the Miles High Club) by T.L. Swan in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed the story. It begins with two strangers...(you know how the story goes!)

The two strangers are Emily and Jameson. I liked Emily enough, but Jameson less so.

Good, quick read.

This was my first book by TL Swan and she will be on my radar from now on! The Stopover follows a known romance trope: office romance between the CEO and one of his employees, but of course they met and hit it off before they knew this. If you enjoy this type of romance, I think you will enjoy this one. A few things that I found detracted from the overall storyline: the Jameson taking advantage (way too much) of his position at work to get his way, and Emily's "safe" gay friend that she can hang out with and not provoke Jameson's jealousy. Overall, I enjoyed this book and thought the dialogues of their fights rang true.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

T L Swan is a new author to me and I found the story quite good. The story is fast paced, the main characters have great chemistry and the secondary charters help to make the story. Jameson is quite the arrogant ass but you gotta love him because he tries so hard for Emily. She’s relentless, doesn't let him slide on anything. What started as a drunken night of sex becomes a great HEA. Looking forward to the next book.

This is another one of those books that makes you wonder why stories like this never happen in real life, *sigh*. The writing was really good, and the characters were even better. I loved reading about them and omg I recommend this to every reader who loves reading romance books!

This was my first read by this author but it won't be my last! It was exceptionally better than I had anticipated from reading the blurb and for a book that was quite long, it flowed easily and I found myself not being able to put it down. I loved Emily and Jameson's characters and their chemistry was off the charts. I have to say there were times when I wanted to shake some sense into both of them! Very interesting storyline with well developed secondary characters that hit all the marks of a 5-star read for me. I can't wait to read Tristan's story next!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

The Stopover by T L Swan was my first book by this author and I'm sure it won't be my last. This book reminded me why I love reading romance. It had everything but I particularly loved Emily. She wasn't a pushover nor was she soft and gentle. She was fiery and said what needed to be said. I loved her interaction with Jameson and how she didn't take any bull. This book featured many of the modern romance novel tropes but I loved how the author twisted them and brought elements that I wasn't expecting. there was drama of course, but it was done in a way that hasn't been done before. The passion Emily and Jameson shared was well written and not over done. The writing was excellent and story flowed really well. there was passion, tension, suspense, and everything I love about romance. The ending was perfect too. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read and well worth five stars.

This is the first time I've read anything from this author and it will not be the last. The story line was great and both characters of the story got my full attention. The plot was very interesting and the secondary characters were a great add, which made me want to know what happens to them after. It was also very hot!!
I will now retire and read the other published works from this author...

4* Broody Alpha Stars

I was so excited to dive into the story of Emily and Jim/Jameson because you know that you will get a sexy and feisty read and it did not disappoint.

Emily first meets Jim when she is upgraded to First Class on her way to New York for a job interview. As much as Emily tries to ignore Jim who is seated next to her, it proves to be fruitless and after a few drinks and movie watching the flirting begins and the banter between them hilarious. When the flight is diverted to Boston due to bad weather the chemistry between them is ignited and they end up spending the night together with no strings attached and Emily goes back to LA without attending her job interview.

Twelve months later Emily eventually finds her way to New York and lands her dream job at Miles Media, where her job interview had been scheduled before the diversion stopover in Boston. Unbeknown to her she crosses paths with “her” Jim who happens to be the CEO and is known to everyone as Jameson. Once again, their passion is rekindled and as hard as Emily tries to keep it at bay and professional, she is fighting a losing battle.

I enjoyed the “push and pull” between the alpha moody workaholic Jameson and feisty likeable Emily. There was some mild angst to their story as well as sizzling hot romance.

I loved their story and they kept me entertained and laughing out loud too especially the camping scene.

Many thanks to Amazon Publishing UK for my copy to read and review.

Hot! Hot! Hot! This is a type of book that I never read but I am sure glad I made an exception with this one. The characters were all realistic and most were very likable. There are lots of steamy love scenes as well as lots of laugh out loud situations. The funniest being the camping trip. It had me hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!!!
Thanks Net Galley for allowing me to read this arc for my honest review.

The Stopover (Miles High Club series) is my first T.L. Swan book but it won't be my last. I was hooked in just reading the book description and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Great writing, witty banter, suspense, loads of steamy scenes and just enough angst to keep you up late reading. Now I'm off to read the rest of the authors books :)

Oh the drama and the angst and the snarkiness and the sneering and the smirking and the bitchy and the a-holiness. This book had all of that and more!

While I own other books by this author, this is the first one I have read, and I enjoyed her style overall. I looked at her bio because some of the word choices she use are decidedly not American, though all of the characters in this story were American. The title is one of the examples because in America, we say "layover" as opposed to "stopover." Turns out, she's an Aussie, so that explains the inconsistencies with the wording.

Jameson (aka Jim, aka Jay) Miles is a 37 year old American billionaire businessman born into a media empire aptly named for his family who runs the business: Miles Media. As the eldest of 4 boys, he is the CEO, and thus carries the bulk of the responsibilities and stress. While on a flight from the London office back to the New York HQ, he meets a beautiful woman on the plane: mid-20's Emily Foster. Emily was unexpectedly upgraded at the last minute when flying back to California via NYC from a wedding she attended, and after seeing her ex hanging all over the new gf the entire time, she is not in the mood for bs. So when the man next to her that introduces himself as "Jim" starts trying to talk to her, she doesn't hold back with what she thinks about his custom tailored suit, Rolex, intellectual airplane movie choices, assumption in asking for champagne for both of them without her input, and the generally snooty air around him. But for the 6 hours they are on the plane with the champagne freely flowing, they end up flirting outrageously, and when the weather in NYC forces the plane to re-route to Boston for the night, they end up having a very passionate night together. When Jim leaves in the morning, Emily is a little put off that he doesn't ask for her number, and while she moves on, she constantly comes back to that night as the very high standard for all passionate encounters.

Fast forward to a year later.... Emily has finally landed a dream journalist job with the company she has always wanted to work for: Miles Media. It took months and many interviews along with a move across the country, but here she is on day 1 walking through the doors and up to the 40th floor to dive right in. When an HR rep comes by her desk to take her on the grand tour, they stop by the executive offices, and when the CEO (who is rarely around) happens to be in his office, he allows them to come in for introductions. And you guessed it - it's "Jim." Emily is floored, and Jameson is surprised too (though he is able to hide it a little better). How can she work for the man she shared the best sex of her life with? But she brushes it off because she is told he is never around, and her job would not have much intersection with his, as some of her co-workers have never even seen him, so all should be fine. Except that she gets an email when she gets back to her desk. From Jameson. Requesting a "private meeting" at 8 AM the next day. This is going to get interesting....

Jameson ("Jay" to family and friends) shared the most passionate night he has ever had with Emily a year ago and has been a little fixated on her since, but he has a complicated life (both professionally and personally), so while he is very interested in hooking up with her, he is not able to be in a committed relationship. This does not keep him from doggedly pursuing her, including watching her while she is working via surveillance cameras (creepy much?). And when Emily comes to him with a major problem she inadvertently stumbles across, it is the perfect chance for Jay to keep her close. But can he convince her to agree to his no-strings sexcapades? What happens when the connection becomes deeper for both of them? And when a rival threatens damage to the woman he has come to care about, will he be able to protect her?

What I liked:
--- Emily was likeable as a "normal" girl in a material world, and as a reader, you definitely found yourself rooting for her
--- The problem Emily unearthed added some twists to the story
--- Oh the steamy goodness, and just the way I like it

What I didn't like as much:
--- The author was constantly using words like "smirk," "sneer," "snarky" in the responses with each other - all of those (to me) have negative connotations, so I was a little put off with the constant attitude
--- For me, there were a lot of unanswered/unaddressed issues ***BEGIN SPOILER*** What was Claudia's role in this? She was the only one that Jameson told he was going to marry Emily, and then the set up with the kiss with Jake had a headline of "Miles CEO's finacee found carrying on with another man..." so she had to have been involved, but there was never any hint of any of that. And then, what was the deal with Jake at all? He was brought in as part of a professional corporate "spy" group to unearth the mole, but he basically acted like a flirty jackass the entire time and then set Emily up? What the hell was that about and how did it even come about? There was no explanation at all on that very critical plot point. I guess we are supposed to assume that Gabriel Ferrera orchestrated everything? It just seemed unlikely bc the spy group was hired by the Miles Media attorney, so how would Gabriel (who was in this book for all of 2 scenes) have known? So many unresolved/unanswered plot points. ***END SPOILER***
--- Emily was 100% focused on getting a job with Miles Media for years -- there is no way in the real world that she would not have known who the CEO was, and there is equally no way that there wouldn't be photos of him anywhere... especially since it was described as the top MEDIA company in the world (eye roll)
--- Jameson was very hard to like - some of the things he did were terrible, and one (which I will just call "stopover 2" so as not to spoil anything) was straight effed up unforgivable
--- I had a very strong personal reaction to Jameson's behavior ***BEGIN SPOILER*** when he would freeze Emily out completely and be totally cold, then out of the blue get all "I need you/I miss you" and be "all or nothing," then be a total dick again... I had the exact same thing happen to me with the only man I have truly loved - one day, he would be "I love you so much/I need you" and talk about us getting married, etc. and then (for literally no reason), he would block me on his phone and work messenger (yes, workplace romance situation also, though no reporting relationship between us) and was straight hostile to me in meetings; I'd be miserable for days/weeks (just like our h in this story), and then he'd show up on my front steps out of the blue begging me to forgive him... After things finally ended (very badly and to the extent that I had zero self-esteem bc I couldn't understand what was wrong with ME that made him treat be so badly which led me to a very dark place for a long time), he found me on social media 10 years later and asked me to give him another chance while promising he had his shit together and that this time would be all about me, he'd never hurt me again.... So I did go back (this was not very long ago). And he shattered my heart yet again and severed all contact --- and, once again, I did absolutely nothing to deserve any of it. So the character of Jameson brought that back and opened a major wound for me. I did not like Jameson's character at all once he started to pull that bs on the h ***END SPOILER***

Overall, a solid office romance/second chance story with some steamy goodness but a lot of unresolved and unanswered questions along with a H that was inexcusably cruel at times.

Plot --- 3/5
Main Characters --- 3/5 (Jameson 1/5; Emily 4/5)
Supporting Cast --- 4/5
Steam Level* --- 4/5
Violence --- none
Language --- the f word makes appearances early & often
POV --- Dual POV (but mostly from Emily's)

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild; 2/5 - sensual but nothing descriptive; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere; 4/5 - yes please! ; 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC.

I enjoyed this book but I found it was very similar to other erotic novels. The author did make this one hard to put down though and I enjoyed the comedic parts of the story. I liked the characters in this book, however they were rather predictible.

Fans of other erotic fiction would love this book.

So I was looking for a story with a bit of age gap, enemies to lovers and office romance. The Stopover has all of that so why wasn't I happy. I don't know. The formula didn't work.

I got so annoyed with the two characters bickering over nothing and then having sex like animals. Just to do it again. By 34% of the book, I was exhausted and didn't care about them any further but I was hoping that the whole mystery issue would keep me entertained but nope.

This may work for some but it didn't hit my sweet spot. Since I loved the other books by this author, I still look forward to Tristan's story.

ARC provided for honest review.

This is my first book by T L Swan and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved The Stopover...I enjoyed reading it so much I had to force myself to put it down at 2am to get some sleep.

I loved that the characters were relatable, because their reactions didn't seem far fetched from reality.

I could not recommend this book more and advise you to go out and get this book straight away.

It had it all for me, romance, passion, two strong leads and awesome support characters, with some added drama.

Be prepared for a late night when reading this...Happy Reading❤

Oh my....I really loved this book! There is just something about the uptight, afraid to commit CEO trope that gets me every time and this one did not disappoint. Emily and Jameson meet on a flight to New York and enjoy a wild night together due to an weather related "Stopover" in Boston. They do not share last names or numbers, but we come to realize the night together meant more to both than a one night stand. They meet again a year later when Emily gets her dream job at Miles Media, where Jameson is CEO.
I enjoyed the banter between Jameson and Emily and while "Jay", "Jim" or Jameson could really be a stubborn jerk, Emily did not put up with any of it....in fact she gave it back just as good. The growing relationship kept me engaged as well as the sub-plot around the media wars and news stories being sold to the competitor.
At times the book felt like it was going on a little to long, but when was all said and done, it was time well spent getting to know Jameson and Emily and letting their relationship ride that roller coaster of love.

Emily gets upgraded on her flight from London to New York where she sits never to the charming Jim. Champagne, flirting, more champagne and more flirting leads to a one night stand! Fast forward a year and Emily can’t stop thinking about that night and when she starts her new job she is in for a big surprise!
Oh this was brilliant, a great mix of love, romance, fun and some hot sex thrown in without being over the top! Can’t wait for the next one now! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

The StopOver by TL Swan is a fantastic read that I give five stars! This gave me all the feels and I love Jameson Miles- he’s the moody alpha book boyfriend that you will just fall in love with. Emily Foster is waiting in line at the airport on her way to NYC for a job interview and then home after attending a wedding of friend. She had a terrible time after seeing her ex all over his new girl. She’s having a bad day and is dressed to relax and just get to NYC for the job interview for her dream job. Then some jerk freaks out and throws her luggage and she is just over it, luckily the airline steps in and upgrades her to first class. She is hoping for a window seat but she sees a handsome man already there. That man gets up and helps her with luggage and lets her have the window seat. After some great flirting and conversation, they make a deal. Emily finds herself having a little fun and meets Jim on the flight. She goes to her interview and there is more mystery left from there. James Miles is head of Miles Media and has been working hard all his life. He’s always putting life on hold for work. This book is full of great characters and hot steamy scenes. It made me laugh and cry. Its so good and I can’t wait for the next one.

I thought it was an okay book. It has a promising storyline, but at times I thought it was unrealistic and didn't make sense.

The main characters lacked development and were either fighting or having sex. Therefore I would recommend this book to readers who are looking for a hot read rather than a romance book.

I was hot and cold about Jameson, couldn't decide if I liked him or not. and sometimes I couldn't relate to Emily's actions. Like who can be indifferent when they see their boyfriend hugging their ex-fiancee. Also, I thought there was too much fighting between the main characters. I can't imagine grown-ups who act like that, it felt like I was reading a book about teenagers. I ended up liking the side characters more than the main ones.

I have to admit, the angst near the end made me really emotional so there's that.

This is the first of many TL Swan books for me. The Stopover was a pleasant surprise for me. Instantly taken in by the cover and blurb, I expected a fun romp. I expected wild sex and maybe an enjoyable storyline. Boy was I lowballing T L Swan!

The Stopover was sexy. It's hot. It has an enjoyable storyline as well. It is also an emotional upheaval and a frustrating experience rolled into a sexy whirlwind romance with an ahole of epic proportions. These two are snarky and bitter at times. They are real "New Yorkers" though one is a transplant. I love their chemistry and the push pull between them is addictive. If you aren't at least a closeted Jameson fan by the end of this novel, then you haven't actually read it! I have a hankering for the other Miles brothers now. It's a terrible addiction being given a taste and taunted with other options.

Sexy, steamy and lots of love. Words do no justice to the excellence of this outstanding romance....one of my favourites by this author because the characters are so very real and are so likeable, the naughty bits are oh-so-naughty leaving your swooning throughout the story. It is emotionally charged and unapologetically sexy than previous authors books. You don’t want to miss out on this book and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book by this very talented author. Happy reading!!

I found myself struggling to establish the connection I was hoping for while reading and decided to shelve at this time.

I have only one previous book by this author and to be absolutely honest I hated that book ALOT. So when this book popped up it sounded really great but based on the previous book I was very iffy on it and I am so glad I ignored that because I really loved this story.

Now this book did have some things I did not like and they might be considered spoilers so if you don't want to know stop reading:

Jay/Jim/Jameson and Emily meet one night during a flight that gets delayed and they have a one night stand and its amazing but he takes off the next day without getting her number. Essentially he lets her think he is married or committed elsewhere. So this sex was not something I enjoyed because he lets her think he is with someone else. Later in the book we find out and this is the spoiler so don't read if you don't want to know. That he was previously engaged and his ex and him see other people but are still in love and plan to get back together in 5 years.

This part of the story was not even needed. It was not part of the storyline and he never cheats on Emily and so I didn't really see the point of this being a part of the story. It just gave me an ick feeling when I read about it and had it been important for plot purposes I would have understood but it wasn't.

Something happens in the story to make Jim think Emily betrayed him and he dumps her faster than you can say dump and she begs and pleads with him and he treats her HORRIBLY, I hated watching how awful he treats her. One thing I really liked was that she doesn't take him back easily. She really makes him work hard to win her back.

Beyond those two issues this book was absolutely wonderful. It is hot, suspenseful, romatic and I love how hard Jamison falls for Emily. Its a wonderful romance at work with a billionaire who falls deeply in love. At times I felt both characters were very immature but luckily they realy seem to grow up a bit through the story.

I was given an ARC to review this book and I had to give it some thought after reading this book to express my thoughts about this story.

First, I don't mind the antihero trope but Jameson or 'Jim' was such a toxic character in my opinion. I love a good dark romance as much as the next but the way he spoke to her and the things he said didn't really sit well with me. Emily is such a weak character with no backbone and you can see that by her constantly dating men that are emotionally broken and need fixing and I just personally hate that trope that women need to break themselves emotionally and go through so much to get this emotionally unavailable man to commit. He hurt her multiple times and then cut her off and then chased her back down until she broke down and personally, no means no. Leave her alone man. Don't stalk someone or break them down until they say yes to you. Personally that's not romantic to me.

I would've liked this book more if he wasn't such a toxic person and she had more a backbone and loved herself a bit more. It's not the worst book I have read but it wasn't my favorite. Did it entertain me? 100% but sometimes i felt like all the sex was more filler to keep the plot going. Overall, If you're a fan of the fifty shades type of dudes, You will probably enjoy this book. It just wasn't for me.

Roaringly amusing, a layover due to a storm was never like this!

Emily boards a plane going home and sits next to this gloriously handsome man named Jim. London to New York means they have hours to chat. Being in first class means the champagne never stops. Their amazing link and chemistry extends overnight into a one night stand they will never forget. Memories of that night would set them both on fire, even though, neither one knew the other's last name.

One year later, Emily is finally starting work at a firm she has dreamed of. As she is given a tour of the firm, you can imagine her surprise when she is introduced to the big boss - yep! It is Jim... or better yet Jameson Miles "king of media world". This may sound like a run of the mill plotline, but let me assure you, this plotline is totally different and full of realism. It is never a good idea to have an office romance. Getting involved with the big boss is not far from total madness! Do not miss how many ways Emily and Jim can come up with to further mess up their lives. It is all in the foundation: trust and honesty!!

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.

Connecting for one night only Emily and the mysterious Jim hook up after a layover of there flight because of the bad weather.
12 months later and Emily is starting her new job at miles media where unbeknown to her, her new boss is none other than her night of passion Jameson Miles.
So this was a fun contemporary read with plenty of humour and heavy on the angst.
Jameson or Jay was dominant and bossy and a bit of an a-hole he was also a devil between the sheets.
Emily was passionate, focused and as much as she tried to fight it a pushover when it comes to Jay's natural charisma.
So I did like the back and forth banter between Jay and Emily but I wasn't always that keen on them, let's just say they both had their individual faults.
Jay could be a bit of an arrogant douche and seemed to have a split personality blowing hot and cold constantly throughout and Emily could be super argumentative and also seemed to have a huge chip on her shoulder when it came to Jameson's wealth.
Despite there flaws they both did start to grow on me it also helped that there chemistry together was seriously scorching.
Ultimately and despite some small issues, this was a hit for me an opposites attract, boss/employer rom-com of a read that I enjoyed and I am happy to recommend.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Stopover (The Miles High Club, #1).

The Stopover (The Miles High Club) - T. L. Swan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes, that’s right, you’re seeing ten stars.
I’m making up my own scoring system because clearly, five stars just isn’t enough for this new story and series by T. L. Swan.

I had to leave writing my review till I’d had a solid 7 hours sleep because, Jameson Miles + Emily Foster definitely equates to a 3am reading session.

T. L. Swan has captured the absolute heart and soul of these characters and beautifully created their story with all the traits of a truly epic love story.

The passion and emotional turmoil Jay and Em go through is torturous, but in the very best way for a reader. Every single page kept me engrossed in this passionate and at times, volatile romance and every character, even the ones I didn’t like was pivotal to the story and brilliantly crafted by the dynamic writing of T. L. Swan.

So, without further gushing, which I could easily do, I recommend you seriously need to preorder this bad boy and get ready for a very long night of reading....... absolute brilliance and I can’t wait for Tristan’s story. Yes, there are 4 Miles Brothers. Yippee!!!!

I rated this book 4 stars because even though I wasn't as fussed on the second half, I really enjoyed the first part of the story. Jim (aka Jameson) and Emily are seated beside each other in first class after she's upgraded. There's definitely a spark between them and they spend most of the flight flirting and getting to know each other. After bad weather grounds their flight for the night, they decide to take it further and spend a night to remember together before parting ways in the morning. A year passes with Emily and Jameson thinking of their night of passion frequently until fate steps in and has Em finally landing her dream job at Miles Media where the CEO is, you guessed it, none other than Jim. Their relationship is pretty tumultuous with arguments happening just as often as the romance and I couldn't help but think what a HR nightmare that would be in real life. Here in fantasy land, it was no problemo.

Jameson finds it difficult to balance the two personas he wears: Jim, the funny, charming and relaxed guy when he was away from work and Jameson, the billionaire (naturally...) CEO of a media conglomerate who's known for being the opposite of Mr Niceguy. Emily finds it difficult to juggle her relationship with Jameson when he's ruthless and cold compared to the charismatic man she met on the plane. Add to that a competing media empire set on bringing Miles Media down, a possible traitor in their midst selling stories to the competitor and maintaining the boss/employee relationship and you have the main bits of the story.

I was really drawn in by the first half of the book. I thought the author did a great job of showing the two sides to Jameson and how he struggled with it himself. Emily gave as good as she got and the banter between them was witty, humorous and lively. I like that she had moved to New York to chase her career goals. I will warn other readers that Emily had been in a relationship for the first part of the book, but it was tied up pretty quickly and nothing dramatic happened between her and Jay in the meantime. He also had an ex that caused a tiny bit of drama as they were supposed to get back together. For those that like to know, there is a bit of an age gap between the main characters - I think it's a little over 10 years. It wasn't focussed on a lot which I was happy with. The secondary characters in the book were a great addition, especially the two friends Emily connects with at work.

Some of the sex scenes were off the chart hot. They were really well written with plenty of steam and intensity without being over the top and overtaking the story. Jameson was very jealous and possessive so those boxes are definitely ticked if that's your thing. His attention to Emily is borderline harassment. Delicious, delicious harassment, but harassment none-the-less. They argue with each other constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY with big shouty capitals. More on this later. The dialogue was great. There was one scene where they went camping that was really entertaining, even if slightly unbelievable.

While I loved the first half of the book, the second section had a few problems for me. At times, there were some inconsistencies with the characters and Jameson in particular became almost unlikable for me in parts. At the start he was the typical bully-type character that's floating around everywhere at the moment which meant that sometimes he was a bit of a you-know-what. It was bearable so I could overlook that as well as that same old song you see in a stack of novels where the male lead is a player and used to women falling at his feet because of his money, looks, etc. In the second half of the story, he went from being a bit overbearing to full of jerkface territory, going out of his way to be cold and cruel. For him to behave like that and then be described as being incredibly selfless and sacrificing himself to protect Emily because he loved her so much? Nope and nope. This certainly didn't match where the plot had gone and seemed as though it was chucked in to excuse Jameson's deplorable behaviour. There was nowhere near as much grovelling from him as there should have been and even as he was trying to make amends throughout the book, he was still a douche canoe and trying to form a relationship because it suited him (while also being a borderline alcoholic, I'll add).

As for Emily, she goes from being feisty, independent and assertive (she was almost shrewish at times, as much as I hate using that word to describe women) to being an emotional mess that caved to Jameson and tried to make amends with him even though he was being horrid. At the start, he wanted her to submit and she wouldn't which made for a great battle but her feelings in the second half changed this and I felt it left her character lacking a bit compared to how strong she was. And seriously, there was so much crying from her at times that I'm pretty sure she was propping up Kleenex shares. The author tried to give us glimpses of Emily's strength as the book progressed, but to me it wasn't completely successful and I would have liked her to stick it to Jim a bit more unapologetically when he needed to hear it. That being said, it is a love story so I guess something had to give for their relationship to move on. Some bits in the book also didn't gel with Emily's character, e.g. being a reporter and having to be prompted to investigate a crime. Really?

As the plot and our couple's relationship moved along, I found the plot became a more lackluster compared to the dynamite that was the first half. I found myself thinking that things were becoming more and more ridiculous and without spoiling anything, the case that a main part of the plot revolved around ended up becoming almost nonexistent with a random direction and solution.

The other couple of things that had me taking a star off was the repetition and the massive amounts of back and forth. There were a few words and phrases the author favoured that were recycled throughout the book - I'm looking your way 'smirk' (my search told me 132 times! I don't recommend playing this as a shot game!), 'suction' kisses and 'slow and sexy smile'. As I mentioned above, Jameson and Emily were constantly fighting. As a result, a big chunk of the book was made up of them arguing, walking away from each other, looking like they were going to end it, feeling melancholy about how they relationship was going, pining for each other and then getting back together almost like nothing had happened for the whole thing to occur again. This especially bothered me with Jameson as he'd be a jerk and then act like it was all okay and wanted to see her again and when Emily would question this, he'd tell her not to be angry or basically tell her how to act or have a go at her for being angry or snappy. This made me a bit stabby as he started to come across as borderline abusive.

Some sections were from Jameson's point of view which I really enjoyed. His bits were put in bold and this grated on me a bit. I would have rathered normal text with just his name at the top, but no biggy. The book was a great length and entertaining, while mostly predictable. The writing was solid and while it seems as though I've hacked it to pieces above, it was entertaining and I really did enjoy the first half. I'd read this author again.

The Stopover from new to me author T.L. Swan, is an intriguing novel. The two main characters are refreshing; due to their attractiveness, clever banter, and ability to truly believe in love. Emily is a talented reporter, and after three long years of waiting, she is finally starting a new position with Miles Media. She is now a New Yorker and loving every minute of it. Jameson is the CEO of Miles Media. He is a workaholic and needs to run in order to alleviate the never ending stress that comes with his job. In addition, Jameson is a bit of a control freak and prefers a one night stand to a relationship.

A year ago, Emily and Jim (Jameson is his real name), met in first class on a plane headed to New York. Due to poor weather, they were rerouted to Boston. The chemistry between them was electric and the night they spent together was beyond steamy. Although they never exchanged any personal information, they thought about each other constantly. So when Emily shows up on Jameson's turf, they are both equally surprised. They begin seeing each other secretly and the sex is amazing. Lust evolves into love very quickly, however, there is a mole in Jameson's organization and Emily is right in the thick of it.

This is an exciting and slightly emotional novel. I love office romances, and Ms. Swan completely whisked me away into all things corporate. When Emily's world was collapsing, her spunk and determination was truly remarkable. My heart truly ached for her. Jameson's inability to see what was right in front of his face made him difficult character to like. The secondary characters added a lot of personality to plot. This is the first book from the author's brand new series, The Miles High Club, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

OH LORD!!! Right from the bat I could tell I was going to LOVE this book! It’s one of those you just read a couple of pages of, and then instantly know you never want it to end! Hands down - this is easily one of my favourites reads of 2019.

It's fate that brings Jameson and Emily together, and then reunites them a year later – both are taken aback! What follows is a story you'll definitely enjoy! The banter between the two of them totally reeled me in, I absolutely loved it!

So good, I even bought the audiobook, and that very rarely happens!! 5 stars for sure!

Looking forward to Tristan’s story in the second book of the series – The Takeover.

I'm not sure how I feel about Emily and Jameson. He was really alpha, like a bit over kill. The book in general was good but I did have some issues with the main characters.

This is the first book I've read by T.L. Swan, and it definitely was not what I was expecting!

The story follows Emily and Jameson, who met after she's been upgraded to first class on a flight back from London, and have an incredible night together (honestly the kind of diverted flight situation that you can only dream of experiencing). After parting ways and thinking they'll never see each other again, Emily comes to find out "Jim" is actually Jameson, the CEO of the media company she just got a job with. Of course drama and steam ensue!

This is not the typically kind of book that I read, and I would classify this as a kind of "junk food" or an in-between read; not something that I want to read all the time but when I do it's enjoyable enough for a time. If you think too hard about it, you can find quite a few issues with plot and get annoyed with the characters easily, but if you just enjoy it for a light, easy, and steamy read then you're good! There's just enough to make you care about the characters and keep things moving between bedroom (or boardroom!) scenes; but again, only if you don't take it too seriously! The characters act incredibly immature (their interactions will give you whiplash), and let's be honest the healthiest part of their relationship was the running they did through Central Park. I've never read 50 Shades, but I feel like this is a kind of watered down version? If I had to guess.

At first I wasn't sure about the length (and honestly it could be seriously trimmed down), but it's an easy enough read that it flew by. If you like controlling men who have their sweet moments (I would call him controlling, not an "alpha male", he was a bit too problematic for that title in my opinion), and have a willing suspension of disbelief that can handle a very unrealistic story line, then this book is for you! Again, I don't mean any of this in a bad way, but I can absolutely see why some people DNF/did not like this book, and why some people loved it.

This book isn't for everyone, but it did act as a nice in-between books kind of book that didn't require too much mental energy! I think enjoying this book is just about setting your expectations at the right level, and that level is "literary junk food".

And honestly, I enjoyed the brothers enough that I would read the next in the series if the the timing was right!

DNF. Obviously I'm in the minority, but I just couldn't get into The Stopover at all. I didn't like or connect with either Emily or Jamison. He's a jerk and she's a nitwit. Seriously, she wanted a job only at Miles Media for forever, and has been applying for jobs there for 3 years, and doesn't know who the CEO is or done any research on the company? As a journalist? I think maybe I'm just done with the erotic romances. They were either fighting or f***ing, and it felt repetitive and boring to me. I've enjoyed previous books by this author, so it could just be a me issue, or poor timing, but this one just didn't do it for me.

I enjoyed this. Good romance, sexy, had enough plot to keep it going. I did get tired of them always fighting and then making up. It got repetitive. In conclusion, not great literature (which I don't think anyone expects) but a good fun read.

I enjoyed this I loved the fact the main character was a strong female for a change, rather than the usual seems strong but ends up submissive within the blink of an eye. It wasn’t overly unrealistic and I loved the mix of humour and tension. Great supporting characters. An all round entertaining, steamy and fun read

I really enjoyed this book! The rich powerful business man is becoming a cliche but this book was well written. The female lead was a strong, hilarious woman who knew what she wanted rather than the submissive type you seem to come across in this genre. The male lead also made me laugh out loud at times, especially the camping trip!

Emily and Jameson meet when they sit together on a plane, then they are delayed because of weather and spend a very hot night together. Jameson is CEO of Miles Media and a workaholic and he is definitely not into relationship's or commitment. Emily has never had a one night stand but decides to have one with Jameson but she never hears from Jameson again. They meet one year later when Emily gets a job at Miles Media and they are both shocked to see each other, but she is not the same person that she used to be as she now has responsibilities. What will happen next, will they be able to stay away from each other when they have such strong chemistry and connection and they have thought of each other often and there night together. Wow what a great start to a new series, I can't wait to read the next book. I have read every book that T L Swans has written and I have loved every single one, I definitely recommend you read this book and others by this amazing author.

I just finished the Stopover, By TL Swan. This is the first book that I have read by TL Swan and I am reading it in exchange for an honest review. The book starts out pretty strong with a chance in counter by Jim and Emily on an airplane. I really liked Emily at the very beginning. Their first encounter is a true one and done. It happens early on in the book and they don't see each other again for quite some time. We they run into each other again, both are not exactly sure how to act. I wasn’t sure exactly where it was going to go but I was enjoying the ride, then there was a twist between Jameson and his old fiancee that I wasn’t expecting and really truly didn’t even feel like Jamison was the person that was having this encounter. I understand the reason the author threw in this old relationship, but I felt it really made Jameson an unlikable character. His internal dialogue kept saying he didn't want to hurt Claudia, but I thought the way he handled that situation made him extremely unlikable. It was a scene that made me lay down the book for about 8 hours and I do know that normally I don’t put a book down, I am one of those people that will read till 3 o’clock in the morning to finish a book I’m really enjoying. After picking the book back up, it really took some twists and turns and made me continue to dislike Jameson more and more Emily starting to become a doormat, like the only thing in her life was Jameson loving her. I do think that the author tried very hard at the end to redeem the story to make sure I liked the characters again. And I really did like the idea of the plot everything was there it just didn’t quite come together for me. That said, it was well written, the author knows how to write. So 3.25 stars. Not my cup of tea, but many others might like it.

I loved this book ! Couldn't put it down - grabbed me from the off
I loved the sparky dialogue - a strong female character and alpha male - an explosive combination!!

A great read

Refreshingly pleasant. I really enjoyed reading this. Most romance novels are too cheesy or unrealistic and this was neither of those.

This is the second book I’ve read by TL Swan, and boy oh boy does she know how to write an alpha male. I really enjoyed Emily’s feistiness, she stood her ground and was able to put Jameson in his place. I found Jameson both alluring and maddening, similar to how Emily felt about him.

In the end the two likely would have benefited greatly from sitting down and talking to down another. Their relationship ups and downs were a lot, and I probably would have given up long before they did. But when it was finally all flushed out it made a certain sort of sense. The story itself was good and I did enjoy the added mystery, it made for a great subplot to the story.

Overall this book was an enjoyable read, with a wonderfully written alpha male and good amount of steamy scenes.

Emily meets Jim when her flight is upgraded to first class. She can't believe this gorgeous older man is interested in her. The two end up having a one night stand after plane problems cause a stopover. A year later, Emily lands her dream job at a media company. The boss happens to be her hookup, Jim. Oh boy these two were a mess with back and forth banter, craziness and drama. I loved reading just to find out how things would end up. Another winner for this author.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A truly gripping romance story that i could not put down. This book meant a lot to me as it also helped pull me out of a serious book funk, the writing and story flowed smoothly, the characters are engaging and the romance was off the scale- both hot but heartfelt at just the right points in the story. First in a new series i cannot wait to read more of, oh and i love the brooding man on the cover on the book it sums up the lead male really well.

Really enjoyed this story. Hot and steamy. I liked both characters of Emily and Jameson and enjoyed the mystery side storyline. Look forward to reading others in the series.

I spent a good amount of time reading this book completely frustrated with both the hero and the heroine. In the end, it made for a compelling story. A true opposites attract story. In no universe would these two ever make their way to each other. Jameson the staid, strong businessman and Emily, the bright, effervescent young lady with only one dream.....to work for Miles Media. A chance meeting in first class, a stopover and a night to remember is all these two can have. Fate has more in store for them though and what follows is pushing and pulling, yelling and shouting, loving and steam to the nth degree. Was the angst a bit much? Sure, but in the end, the mystery who done it and the connection these two mostly had throughout, made it worth the read and putting more of the authors books on my TBR list.

The Stopover by T L Swan...well lets start with WOW!! This quickly became some of my favorite books! The writing was flawless, story development was absolutely perfect! I literally loved every second of this book.

The story is about Emily and Jameson's relationship. The up and down's and the twists that kept me turning the pages. I loved that it was a different topic and plot, I can say I never read anything like it before(and I have read ALOT of books in my day).

LOVE IT!! MUST READ!!!

What a delicious book. I found this book in the 'read now' section on Netgalley and I thought it sounded cute and decided to download it. I waited a little while with reading it because I was reading other things, but after finishing a horrible romance book I just knew I had to pick up this book. Boy, am I glad I did.

Writing style: I can't really put into words why I like the style so much, but I do. Everything is so tastefully written and keeps me wanting more.

Characters: The characters are all great. They're full with clear personalities, charm and superbly written detailed descriptions of their varied physiques. I can't help but love all of them.

Story: The story itself is your avarage romance novel, but with the great characters and tasteful writing it doesn't feel like just another romance book.

Relationship: The author really knows how to put a dynamic relationship on a page. Yes, they list after each other immediately, fuck like rabbits and fall in love fairly quickly... BUT they also have fights, Emily doesn't let Jameson tell her what to do and who to be, they have a real relationship not a fairytale one.

This book is a great contemporary romance novel and I'll definitely recommend it to people who want a tasteful read with a good amount of smut 😏 The Stopover gets 4 stars from me. One for every Miles brother 😉

This book is one of my favorites that I read this year. It’s so good and it’s never slow which I LOVE THE MOST. You get to know the characters and you end up wanting even more.

When I first started reading this book I thought it wasn't going to be for me. We had arrogant and cocky Jameson and we had Emily who was just a snarky brat through the first third of the book. After that though she changed, the real her came out and she got over it and was a character who I ended up enjoying. I think the thing I think I enjoyed the most is the fact that she didn't just take Jameson back the first time he came around and she made him grovel and fight for her. This was a great story that sucked me in and didn't let me go until I finished.

When Emily has a one-night stand with handsome, blue-eyed Jim, whom she met in a first class flight from London, neither of them can forget the chemistry they had. A year later, Emily finally lands her dream job at Miles Media, only to discover that the CEO is none other than her hookup. The two develop a relationship, but can it stand the test of secrets, lies, and their own mistakes?

I struggled with this book. The "hero" was anything but heroic; he was demanding, selfish, and verbally abusive. He treats the heroine horribly and then tries to claim that he was motivated by altruism. The heroine is both too prickly and too doormat. She bristled at all the little things and allowed herself to be taken advantage of with all the big things. There was very little romantic about this book--more of a textbook on what kind of relationship to avoid.

If you want a very easy read with a lot of descriptive, passionate sex this is for you!
The story starts off okay with a young woman being upgraded to the first class cabin on her flight home to New York and meeting this gorgeous sexy man. Due to bad weather the plane is redirected and the passengers are forced to have a stopover - these two protagonists have a lusty night of passion and fun imagining they will never meet again.
Yes, you guessed, they do and their story begins. There are too many unrealistic coincidences for me and boring repetition of cringey cliches: '"His face is so damn kissable it hurts" and his "Piercing blue eyes" are mentioned in virtually every chapter. In the background there is a smidge of a mystery but the main story focuses on the dialogue of the two protagonists, their constant changes of heart and the two of them arguing, where nothing much happens. "I've never met anyone quite like you", and "Well...poof to him!"
Emily is not really that amazing but is an attractive, independent, young woman who stands up to Jay, a bad tempered, privileged, power obsessed bully who wants everything his way. Many of the other characters are unrealistic too - that idiot Jake brought in as a Corporate Spy - could they really not have found somebody more professional?
Sorry but for me it lacks a good plot and realistic, admirable characters and is just not my type of book I'm afraid. However, if it's your genre then give it a go and enjoy!
Thank to NetGalley for allowing me read and review.

This is an ARC version I read based on the cover. I am surprised how engaging the story is. Loved the characters and the storyline. It has the flair of 50 Shades but way more realistic and for a modern love story it is fitting. I cannot wait to read the next story to this series.

This was my first book by TL Swan. I have to tell you, I was pleasantly impressed with the storyline. That being said, I am not sure that TL Swan would be a one click author for me. I just wasn’t grabbed by the story between Jamseon & Emily story. I may want to try something of hers again, but this one was just a book for me.

My first book by T L Swan and it was a very entertaining read. If you're in the mood for a quick big city romance with a lot of witty dialogue and so much steamy it'll fog up your windows, give this one a try. Just when you think you've got the story figured out, the plot, although a big cheesy, will surprise you.

If I could describe a book to you in one gif, well...you're welcome. You may now skip my entire review.

But dang it, I keep telling myself that I'll stop setting high hopes for books with hot covers only to be let down. And yet I keep doing it. Again. And again. And again.

Admittedly it wasn't just the sexy cover that hooked me here, but the blurb as well. It reminded me a little of a crossover between Whitney Gracia's Turbulence and Reasonable Doubt: Full Series. Sadly, the story just didn't deliver on the promise of the eye catching cover. Frankly, it was pretty much a hot mess.

First of all, this was not a story meant for a full novel. It was a novella that had an eye rolling amount of filler in the form of the constant back and forth between the hero and heroine. These two were like a merry-go-round of relationships. They're up, they're down, they're up, they're down. Over and over in a seemingly never ending circle. It was funny and cute in the first 20% but then it just got tiresome and unnecessary. For characters in their 30s and mid 20s, they argued like jealous teenagers. Now I'm a reader that typically loves good enemies to lovers vibe and some deliciously heated barbs traded in the way. But this was not that. This was just...I don't even know. Frustrating? Rage inducing?

I started out loving the characters, only to get so annoyed with them after the 25% mark that I barely forced myself to finish. It was a stretched out story without much holding it together, patched together with bouts of sex, and slapped with a HEA at the end. This would have been a hot 100 page novella, but for a full length book it only served as an exercise in frustration.

From the moment I started reading The Stopover, I did not want to put it down. This story was seriously sexy and swoon-worthy romantic. Jameson and Emily were electrifying together. She's sassy, smart and relatable and she goes toe-to-toe with the gorgeous, powerful and tightly-wound CEO. They are perfectly matched, and I loved every minute of their emotional, smoking-hot journey to happily ever after, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series and Miles brother.

I loved this book!!!!! From the first scene in the airport to the last page. Jameson and Emily have such a strong connection, wonderful chemistry and a ton of fun ( the camping scene LOL) I can't wait for more.

This is my first book by T.L. Swan and definitely not my last. Emily and Jameson have a chance meeting on a flight and their chemistry is undeniable. The stopover leads to an unforgettable night and then the pair part ways. A year later, their paths cross again and the attraction is still as intense. The story took a few twists and turns and the seamless writing leaves you wanting more. The flow of the story is well done, the love is heartfelt and at times, heartbreaking, and the happily ever after was well done.

Hot Hot Hot 4.5 Miles High Club Stars

I love T.L. Swan’s books especially DR Stanton. She writes the epitome of an alpha male. The strong and demanding ones. They are rough and rugged, large and in charge. I loved the premise of this book and some characters I loved more than others.

The book starts off with Emily on a trip from London to New York for a job interview then back home to California. While waiting in line at check-in there is a mishap and she gets upgraded to first-class where she meets Jim. She likes him and he seems like a good guy. A little forward but good. Jim was in London on business and is now on his way home. They have a layover and decide why not?

After an amazing and hot night, let me tell you OH MY GOSH!!! I think the kindle melted in my hand with me along with it. It was hot and sexy and any other erotic word you can think of. They go there separate ways and now we fast forward 12 months later. She can't stop thinking about him. He hasn't stopped thinking of her as well. Now, she made it and got her job and she is in New York for her dream job.

This is where the story takes a turn and I can say that I wasn't expecting it to make me angry. Jim was a changed man and Emily is still the same Emily for the most part. I liked her sassiness and she didn't tolerate the way he treated her. She put him in his place. Everyone is afraid of him but not her. As I said, Jameson is rough rugged and possessive go a point of overboard, but I like that.

Now for the people I really liked. I liked her work friends, Molly, and Aaron along with Jim/Jameson’s brother Tristan. He was a good guy with a great attitude. Molly and her ex Mike made me laugh out loud. The weekend away, Bessie, Swampland as well as Viagra Mike and the kids. The book kept me engrossed and I have to admit Jameson is not the nicest of men but for some reason I liked him. I was always waiting for the shoe to drop and when it does it does. I liked Emily as well but they really need to work on communication.

I look forward to more from this author in this series.

I love this author her novels never disappoint. This novel was so good! I loved the dialogue and the banter. I loved the chemistry between Jameson and Emily. This novel grabbed me from the first page and would not let go until the very last page. I love when a novel can make you laugh out loud and leave you with a smile on your face. This novel checked all of my boxes I loved it.

Not at all what I expected. I couldn't connect with any character and didn't care what happened. The writing is fine but the story was not for me.

This was such a brilliant read! I loved the development of the relationship between Jameson and Emily, they really were perfect for one another.

The camping trip weekend made me laugh so much, I loved the softer side of Jay and how he truly opened up and was different around Emily.

The only thing I will say is that the twist kind of came out of nowhere, it seemed like they were all happy and then BAM! plot twist. That's not necessarily the bad thing but I kind of feel like there was this build up to solving the problem (no spoilers) and then it was never really explained how it was resolved.

Even so, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for Tristan's book next!

If only all flights could be so hot ;)

Emily is en route from London to Nee York City from a hellish wedding. She is feeling low and all she wants is to watch a movie and sleep. But even half dead she can’t help but notice the gorgeous stranger sitting next to her. Jim may very well be the sexiest man she has ever seen. As their banter turns from saucy to downright erotic, they find themselves unable to keep their hands off one another. And when their flight has to make a stopover they get to have a night they’ll never forget. A night full of passion, a night that even one year later neither one of them has been able to forget.

Emily is about to start her new job. She has left her hometown and boyfriend and has moved to New York City to live her dream life. She has no idea that her new boss is none other than her one night stand. And his name isn’t Jim, but Jameson Miles. She has no intention of sleeping with her boss and jeopardising her career, but she also can’t deny the intense attraction that she feels for him. What’s more, Jameson doesn’t understand the word no. He is a man who always gets what he wants and what he wants is Emily. But with a mole in the company and a secret that Jameson isn’t yet prepared to share, can they possibly have a normal relationship? Or even a clandestine affair?

I am sorry to admit that this was the first T. L. Swan book that I’ve read. The chemistry was there from the very first second Emily and Jameson met and continued to sizzle to the very last page. Admittedly, Jameson, isn’t the easiest person to like. He’s moody and temperamental and can be like a toddler at times, but there’s definitely something undeniably magnetic about him and it’s almost impossible to deny him.

Can’t wait to read more of this series and find out the women who’ll tame the other Miles brothers ;)

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Overall I really enjoyed this book. What really pissed me off was the back and forth between Jim and Emily. Once he was cold and she was hot next she was cold and he was hot AND at many points in the book both were stubborn mules, so tried not to get too personal with those situations. I really liked Emily's spark and snarkiness towards Jim and that's what did it for me especially when Jim turn to a mushy romantic.

This story is hot and sinful that will make you fan yourself! The ups and downs between these two have is amazing. I really enjoyed the flow of this story as well. I really enjoyed the concept and the way this story played out. I really liked it.

4.5 Stars

This is the first book in the Miles High Club.

I love a good Billionaire boss contemporary romance. And this fits the bill nicely.

Basic premise: a man and woman meet on a plane. Instant chemistry and after layover due to the weather, the two have wild passionate sex. A year later, girl lands her dream job at Miles Media. Little did she know that her wild encounter man would end up being her boss and not just her boss but the CEO of Miles Media!

I thought this book was great. In a lot of ways both of these characters are a bit screwed up. Emily kept dating a man she knew would never commit to her since it was easy. Jameson has always been a one night stand type of guy. Even his one fiancee was a lady who could never truly commit to him.

There is a lot of drama and angst in this. The first half of the book where they meet each other and then encounter each other again was the stuff you tend to expect and it gets us invested in the characters. And the last third of the book was mind-blowing. I have to admit I did get a bit weepy during the whole “girl loses boy” scenario. If I had been cast in this book. I don’t think I would have keep pursuing Jameson as long as Emily did. I would have given up so much sooner. I did think that the middle 150 to 200 pages were a bit too long. I could have deleted the entire middle section and been just as happy with this book. The middle did seem a bit of a slog. After all, this book is 521 pages which I feel is a bit on the long side for a contemporary romance.

I loved the whole Miles Media vibe, though. Wish there were a real media company like that owned by four hot guys who were all available to date. The work atmosphere seemed so down to earth and employee-centric that I was jonesing for someone to get me an interview there.

The next book in the series THE TAKEOFF will feature Tristian. He is basically male protagonist number two in this story. If it hadn’t been for him, I don’t think Emily and Jameson would have made it through their massive issues.

If you love books like this, definitely read this. Just know that the two of them are in bed for a good portion of the book. It is so prolific that you might start rolling your eyes… not again!

Love a good contemporary romance? Check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

After a less than wonderful trip Emily is heading to a job interview for her dream job only to have the trip become an adventure she never would have expected. The man sitting next to her on the flight ends up being way more interesting than she originally thought and when they have to make a little small trip due to weather they decide to enjoy their little bit of time together. This book is full of twists that make it a lot of fun to read and will take you on a ride you aren't expecting when the story begins.

I love a book with lots of angst and drama. Jameson and Emily meet on a flight. The two have chemistry and their banter was funny at times. Now a year later she has the job she has dreamed of working at Miles Median. She wasn’t expecting to see Jameson and for him to be the CEO of the company. Things heat up in the office.

A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.
This was a pretty good book. I particularly liked Emily but enjoyed both characters. The story was a little wordy, but other than that, was something fun to read on a cold day. I look forward to reading more from this author.

It's no secret that TL Swan is talented. The Stopover was sexy, angsty and just ... HOT.
The sexual chemistry between the characters was incredibly steamy.
The storyline was there, but let's be real, the sex was the real story.

another amazing book by TL Swan!

If you love hot alpha asshole males, you are going to love Jameson. I went through moments of hating him and loving him. He can be such an arrogant domineering male and, other times, he can be incredibly playful and sweet. Emily is an absolute firecracker. She gives just as good as she gets with Jameson. At times, I did get irritated with her because she caved into Jameson and his dominating ways. Of course, with the sexual chemistry between them being so hot, it’s not really surprising that she gives in to him. While Jameson and Emily are finding their way in their relationship, someone is threatening Jameson’s company and a competitor is more than happy to poke the angry bear that is Jameson.

What I loved most was Emily and her fury. Strange I know. But I find it so irritating when the male hero treats the female protagonist like crap and she just forgives him so easily. I was so glad to see her push back because he expected her to simply forgive him. It was a great story but I did have mixed feelings about the ending and how quickly things progressed. I may however be in the minority but that’s how I felt. Overall, I still loved the story.

The Stopover by TL Swan

Oh my gosh, this book really resonated with me, I found myself completely enamoured with Emily and Jay. They are two people who come from different backgrounds but they suit each other.

They are flirty, and cute also they are so hot as well. Jay is a charismatic CEO who knows how charm people. Emily was definitely charmed by him and well he hit the jackpot when she got ‘upgraded’ to first class.

The ‘stopover’ led to a hot night of fun for them both. I don’t think either of them was expecting it but it was definitely something that I loved to see. I haven’t read many books by this author, but every book I have read has been a winner for me so I’m excited to see what she writes next!

Wow! This book was so much better than I expected. I started this looking for a fun, fast read (which is usually when I turn to romance). This definitely filled that requirement, but it surprised me as well. The characters were well written, there was definite chemistry, the banter was great, With that said, sometimes I really hated Jameson. He could be a total cold-hearted jerk. In the end, I really enjoyed the story.

Good, witty, sexy and mysterious. I loved every moment of Stopover, it was a fantastic book with a fantastic plot. I loved the bickering between the characters and how their whole relationship just evolved and came to life. Recommend everything from TL Swan.

This is a very steamy book about two very headstrong people. Each of them have a little bit of a dual personality. One likes to be in control, but also has a very sweet side. The other is a bit of a feminist and comes off as “snarky” a lot, but she is also very caring. There are some ups and downs to their non-relationship, but their story comes through by the end. I want to hear more about the other Miles brothers now!

I tried reading this once before, and I could not for the life of me get into the story or the characters, but the plot intrigued me WHO LOVES A BOSS/EMPLOYEE ROMANCE? THIS GIRL. THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE. And so, this book called me back, demanding me to pick it up again, maybe that was Jameson calling me back, but oh I'm glad he did because HOT DAMN. I'm waiting for the moment I meet my three-piece donning sex god on a plane, but eh, unfortunately, I have yet to come across him:P Definitely glad I gave this a second shot because the story was steamy and I loved the relationship, boss/employee, in the book!

The Stopover really pulled the crazy out of me, as I totally went from one extreme emotion to the next at warped speed. As much as I LOVE every last story that I experience by TL Swan, this book has taken over as my favorite.

Emily Foster & Jim actually met on a plane they were traveling on together, and since it was a bit on the longer side, they really hit it off like crazy. Then when a storm kept them out of their final destination of New York, they spent a super HOT weekend together, but when it was time for Emily to go, he never got her number, so she assumed he only thought it was a fun hookup, unlike her, who it meant a bit more to. Fast forward a year, and Emily is moving to New York, starting a job at her dream job at Miles Media, and she about stroked out when she came face to face with Jim her first day, only he was Jameson Miles, CEO. After she got over the initial shock, she went on about her business, however, Jameson didn't, because he wanted her badly, & was determined to get her in his bed again. At this point, I was very upset with him, because some of the choices he made, always ended up with Emily hurt. She's got a boyfriend back home, and he wants her to dump him, so she can hookup with Jameson again. Granted, they have chemistry in spades, but their volatile interactions when together were also something to see, as Emily had no problem standing up to him. And he never left her alone, so it was only a matter of time. They start on a journey where Emily is catching feelings while he was a douche who really pissed me off with his decisions, as he was treating her like a booty call. In between all of this drama was an underlying mystery, as someone was trying to take Jameson's company from him, so he was very cranky much of the time, and kept hurting her over & over again, especially with his, I don't do relationships, but I don't want you to find another man to have one with. Things are coming at warp speed now between their hookups, and the twists teasing us about who dun it. Then there's Jameson, who decided he wanted to try a relationship with her, so things were going very well for a time, until a HUGE f-bomb dropping worthy twist came out of nowhere, and this is when he really screwed her over. I could literally feel her pain, and I went back & forth between crying and raging at him, and just when I thought he couldn't get any worse, guess what?! HE GOT WORSE! I still haven't forgiven him for it long after I was done with the book, and I had wished Emily would have found someone else at that point, but at least she finally had enough, and just pushed him out of her life completely, and I do mean completely. Will Jameson ever get back in?!

Man, I'm still upset as I type the review to be honest, which is a sign of a brilliant author, that intense book hangover effect. If you want it for yourselves, and to find out how it all panned out between Emily & Jameson, you absolutely NEED to one click this story! And I CANNOT WAIT for Tristan's story up next! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

TL Swan is such a master in word wizard has struck again. And The Stopover is proof that TL Swan has done it again. This book is so real that you sometimes forgot that is fiction and not real life, she keep her stories real, where every one can relate to it. TL Swan is a perfectionist and will not give you something halfhearted and watered just because it is just another book, she will put her everything into the book and The Stopover is proof that master craftsmanship is in the order of the day.

Have been patiently waiting for the sequel to this book. I liked the idea of the this one. Meeting someone on a transatlantic flight, having a passionate affair and falling in love is what dreams are made of. Especially when one is as hot as Mr. Miles. A fantasy we'd all love to live.

This is the first book I have read by TL Swan; it is the first instalment in "The Miles High Club" series, which will follow four brothers.

The prose is in the first-person and it alternates between the two main characters, Emily and Jim/Jameson.

Unfortunately I found this book rather boring as it was so formulaic and an effective rinse-and-repeat of the 50 Shades trilogy: the main characters were practically the same, living in similar situations, the various descriptions of both of their apartments was pretty much the same as well, as was their work situation, the biting of the bottom lip and the rolling of the eyes, the way they communicate and the final romantic gesture. Even a relationship contract/agreement makes an appearance!

No BDSM here, and a much simpler story-line, with a bit of intrigue popping up two-thirds into the book, which is resolved very swiftly and which has major plot-holes and baffling development in relation to the person first tasked with investigating it - his behaviour simply made no-sense and there was no good explanation for it.

The behaviour of the characters is utterly childish and not very realistic, with a fair bit of highly inappropriate sexual-harassment in the workplace there for good measure, but which was absolutely fine with the characters.

The sex-scenes were also rather repetitive (as they were in 50 shades) and a copy-and-paste job of each other.
I nearly left the book half-read.

The contemporary romance genre is very prolific and there are many stories out there which are actually original, or, at the very least, not such a blatant faded carbon copy of 50 Shades.

I started this book really loving it and was having a great time enjoying it, unfortunately, the story fell apart for me when the two main characters met again, a year later.

I really enjoyed the time spent together between Jameson and Emily when they first met. It was such a cute and fun time seeing them flirting and joking around with one another and just having a good time.

Although it was obvious where the night was headed, I wasn't expecting it to be as steamy as it was but it was still flirty and fun. They were so cute together and I loved the witty banter that went on between them. I also loved how he brought out a side to her that she didn't know she had and that was surprising but fun.

Jameson and Emily met again a year later when she moves to New York and starts working at her dream job. They met while she's was on a tour of the company and that's when she finds out that the guy she met on the plane, is the CEO of the company.

I found Jameson to be bossy, arrogant, and at times cold, a complete alpha male. Although there were a lot of times that I was not a fan of Jameson, he did have a sweet side to him as well and I liked seeing that side of him.

I thought the relationship between Emily and Jameson, for the most part, was very back and forth as well as problematic but there were times where it was cute and fun. There were so many times where Jameson and Emily were mad at one another and confused about why the other was acting the way they were and where they stood with one another or in the relationship. Although a lot of the time, Jameson was bossy, arrogant, angry/upset, and at times cold, he did have a sweet side to him which was brought out by Emily and that was nice to see.

I also liked two of the side characters, Molly and Aaron, I loved how supportive, friendly, and protective they were of Emily and how they welcomed her into their lives from the very beginning. Molly and Aaron were both also very funny, which was fun to see.

Although this book was not for me, it did have its moments. The ending turned out well, with the relationship between Jameson and Emily and it was nice to see Jameson fighting for Emily and wanting to start fresh in the relationship and that he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen!

The characters, the storyline development, the story, the pace, everything was good.
I was into it from the start.

Very very interring plot. One of the first original reads I have seen in a while. I loved the Sherlock Holmes feel to the story and definitely want a sequel.

Sexy. Funny. Lovable.

The story was easy to read and flowed beautifully from start to finish. Its filled with drama and suspense, banter and fluff. We are introduced to Emily and 'Jim' as they are seated together in a first class flight. Due to bad weather, they get deferred and stopover in Boston where they decide to spend one explosive night together. The next morning they part ways with no reason to stay in touch. A year later, the heroine moves to a different city and starts a new job, not knowing she is now working for our hero, Jamison Miles.

I loved their easy going relationship. Their chemistry was easy to see from the first time they met . I loved reading their banter and teasing. I loved that the hero was fully involved once he was able to commit. Heroine was strong and didn't excuse his lifestyle or let him boss her around.

Both main characters are loveable. The heroine is quirky, and down to earth, pulling the hero into her reality, making him more likeable. The hero is an alpha CEO who is constantly stressed. His cold and disattached.

The Stopover is the first instalment in the Miles High club series and can be read as a standalone. Hero has three brothers who featured in the story and will have their own books.

I didn't mind the book at all and look forward to the next book

A tad predictable but well written. I didn't really connect with any characters so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

This one is difficult for me to rate. Most of it was very entertaining and I did finish it, which was a plus. This is an erotic romance that's nicely written in first person POV. It revolves around a one night stand, which is glossed over, except for the sex. The H/h meet a year later when Emily starts her dream job (at Jameson's firm) and they cannot keep their hands off each other - naturally. There is lots of erotic sex in this book, lots of push/pull, yes/no. They fight, they make up, they fight again - rinse, repeat. That is the tedious part I found very irritating. Plus, this was a VERY long book and I give myself 5 stars simply for getting to the end, because there really was no ongoing back story to cling to, apart from the H/h's jealously.

Things I had problems with:- firstly, the overuse of the word "smirk".. Character development - I knew virtually nothing about Emily. Yes, 2/3 of the book was from her POV and we knew everything she was thinking, saying, feeling, etc, but only in the moment and there was no mention of her past, work history, goals, family (apart from parents who were never in the picture. For instance, she met Jameson twelve months ago, she couldn't forget him, then apparently moved on with another man. Why bother with that at all, just to have an easy break up? Why not just have her work and pine for the stranger on the plane. Would have made more sense to me. She said she knew no one in NY, but then it's revealed later that she worked there each summer during college? Jameson's character was all over the place, so I won't go there in any detail because of spoilers. Needless to say, he's hot/cold, strong/weak, hard/mushy.

Overall I enjoyed this book, but I was left so confused that I'm sure they're going to break up multiple times in the future. 3.5 stars rounded up and I will say, just read this book for the fun factor and try not to analyse it too closely. My favourite scene was their attempt at camping! My thanks got to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in return for my opinion. Yes, I will read the next book starring Jameson's brother Tristan.

Unputdownable romance at its best. Swann knows how to set the table with lust and hints of damaged characters and then sets a course that pulls you forward until you can't stop reading and hours have passed. First rate contemporary romance.

It was ok. It took me halfway through to even get semi into this book. The story centers around 25yr old aspiring journalist Emily Foster and her older boss Jameson Miles, billionaire CEO and a previous one night stand Emily described as “the best sex of her life”.
There were many things about this book that left me dissatisfied. I didn’t feel like the characters had much chemistry besides sexual, all they did was fight or have sex. The “banter” between them fell flat and trended more toward irritating and immature than witty. I found the characters to be pretty one dimensional without much development as the book progressed. Three quarters of the book consisted of the couple hooking up then immediately fight over something ridiculous before storming off and saying they were through, rinse and repeat every 3-4 pages.
To be fair, I didn’t dislike everything. I enjoyed the supporting characters who provided the levity within the book. The mystery they are investigating at the media company had potential and was really the only part with an actual plot though I wish it were built up a bit more. It seemed like it was wrapped up very quickly without much substance to it.
If you’re looking for a romance with a relationship to swoon over, a decent plot, and fully fleshed out characters with great chemistry this is not the book you’re looking for. If you are looking for a lot of smut and a decent amount of spice then you’d likely enjoy this book.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It had me laughing a whole lot. I need my very own Jameson, even though he had me upset in some parts. Also I’m glad that Emily stood up for herself. And let me just say that there was a lot of Hawt moments. Beautiful story with a Beautiful ending!!!
