Description

Growing up, stories were how I learned to make sense of the world around me, but I struggled to find ones that fully represented me, in all my mix of identities and histories and the cultures that I grew up with. So I decided to write my own.

Blood Heir is an amalgamation of that: a group of characters from different kingdoms and cultures that each carry a small part of me, set in a cinematic world brimming with my love for fantasy, and representing a global human epidemic that stems from my knowledge of world issues and is deeply rooted in my own family history.

I’m so thrilled to be bringing a piece of my heart and mind to you, and I hope my book can introduce a new perspective to my readers.

Amélie Wen Zhao

Blood Heir is the first book in an epic new series about a princess hiding a dark secret and the conman she must trust to clear her name of murder.

Princess Anastacya Mikhailov of Cyrilia has lived her life in safety, hidden behind palace walls. But when she is framed for her father’s brutal murder, she must leave behind everything she has ever known to find his killer and prove her innocence. And there is only one person corrupt enough to help her – Ramson Quicktongue.
A cunning, silver-tongued crime lord of the Cyrilian underworld, Ramson has his own sinister plans – though he might have met his match in Ana. Because in this story, the princess might be the most dangerous player of them all.

A YA epic with a bloody twist, Blood Heir is perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard, Sabaa Tahir, and Sarah J. Maas.

These first few preview chapters were fast paced, tossing you straight into the action. The magic looks really fun, and the way it'll be used in the world as a tool is exciting. I like Ranson's devil may care, conman persona already - and the uneasy alliance between him and Ana. I can't wait for the full book to be published so I can see how on earth they're going to get along and clear Ana's name

I have been so excited for this book since I first heard about it, and these sampler pages have definitely made me even more ready for it!

We are introduced to Ana our main protagonist, and there was a lot of intriguing backstory peppered throughout that now I need to know everything. There was also an introduction to another character and if he becomes a love interest I will not be mad.

Normally with YA fantasy, I just go through the motions and I'm never truly excited for story after a few chapters but I am so ready for this book. If it is the same throughout as it is in the first few pages then this is going to be an amazing book and series.

I am sorry on behalf of everyone who created drama regarding the release of your book. I am so glad you have decided to have this published. There is nothing wrong with the content of your book or the themes.

I loved the first 2 chapters. This has just left me wanting more and I will be ordering myself a copy. Great start to what I believe will be a 5 star read for me personally.

A sneak peek at a book that has intruiged me since it was first announced and I'm glad that the author decided to publish this! Any world set in Easter Europe always intruiges me. Adding a murder mystery and magic to it, makes this even better. Looking forward to reading the whole book!

I'm absolutely hooked!!! I wish I didn't have to stop after the two chapters. The description is beautiful, I really felt like I was in every scene from the dank prison to the blinding marble halls. I can already tell this will be a great book.
