Description

When Hollywood’s sexiest bachelor meets the girl next door their relationship doesn’t follow the script… On-screen, Christian Slade is America’s favorite heartthrob. Off-screen, letting romance into his life isn’t as easy. The women he dates all seem to want a piece of his glamorous life rather than his heart, and trust doesn’t come easy for him.

Then along comes Lana. A beautiful rocket scientist who’s also sweet, smart, sexy, and has absolutely no idea who he is. But what will happen when she finds out? Will their worlds prove too far apart or could love really be like in the movies?

Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Sally Thorne, and Jo Watson. First Comes Love is a series of interconnected romantic novels. However, each book in the series can be read as a standalone.

Great read.

Christian is a famous movie star. When he meets Lana he is surprised to learn she doesn't know who he is. He has a chance to be himself, with someone who isn't after him for fame and money. Will all that change when she does find out who he is?

Christian is a big movie star trying to avoid the paparazzi at the hotel he is staying at . Christian is a multimillionaire and loves fast cars and spending money. Lana is a Science professor at UCLA, and a rocket scientist. She is well educated and a clever woman. She cares about the environment and doesn’t like fuel-guzzling cars or celebrities. He goes into a storage room and hears someone crying. It’s lana. She had followed her boyfriend to the hotel and caught him with another woman - her best friend. She had been with her ex for ten yearsLana’s not into t v or movie stars. Doesn’t know who Christian is. Christian tries to comfort Lana. After leaving the storage room Christian offered Lana a ride home. Lana gives Christian her business card and she wrote her number on it. After awhile Christian calls Lana, Christian wonders how he can keep his fame and fortune from Lana. he sees something special in Lana and wants to be different for her. But to get lana to like him, he had to pretend he was someone he wasn’t.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a good romantic read. Although I didn’t like Christian keeping who he really was from lana but I also understood why he felt he had to. I liked that Lana was a very smart, high- principled woman. I loved how christian did try to comfort Lana even though he didn’t even know her. I loved the duo POV. I felt so bad for lana when she found her boyfriend of ten years cheating on her and with her best friend. This was a fun, easy, quick read. I read this in one setting as I didn't want to put it down. I loved the pace and plot. I really liked christian’s assistant penny. This caught my attention right from the start. And kept it until the end. I didn’t like Christian keeping who he was from lana. I loved lana and christian together, and they had hot chemistry. I loved that Christian wanted to help the less fortunate. I also loved the supporting characters. In this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

Well, this is book four in the First comes Love series, but each book is a stand alone although part of an interconnected series via the characters. I'd not read any of the others, but really enjoyed this as it was so don't worry if like me you've just dived in and not realised there are earlier books.
I love this type of read and enjoyed this novel, but there wasn't any gut wrenching emotion or drama from the nasty characters that I do love to find in this trope. Everybody is so nice, and while that's good to read, I'm the sort of person who wants a few of the mean girls in. Not everyone does though, we all want different things.

I loved Christian, so unassuming, so genuine, and yet he's been famous and wealthy for so long he has lost touch a bit with everyday life. ( The handbag, perfect example). Lana is a bit the other way, very in touch with day to day issues, a fervent environmentalist, she sees Christians spending as frivolous excess. At times that meant he'd tried to be thoughtful, but his actions were misunderstood, not always appreciated. There's a balance, and though I agree with her on so much, at times she did come over a bit self righteous and judgmental.
I liked that she was unaware of who he was, so blasé about fame. Like her I don't have a TV, I read, not watched TV for years now so fame and famous people only comes to my knowledge via online news, and TBH I don't bother reading most of it.

I wasn't entirely convinced they fell in love quite so quickly, she's just come out of a long term relationship which had admittedly run its course, and he was decrying Love as a fantasy at the start of the book. Its a fun story, very real at times, with great characters, including the secondary ones, and I did enjoy it.

Stars: Four. Not heart-stopping drama but an entertaining afternoons read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and Pink Boom Press for letting me read this book.
I have been really lucky to read book two and three in the series and this book was just as good.
Christian as a character was refreshingly fun. He accepted the cons of his career and did the best he could. Lana with her personality, was easy to relate to, as were her concerns for the future.
It would've been nice for Lana to have some closure with Summer, but maybe she didn't need it in the end.
Light and an entertaining read, with some lovely cameos; Camilla Isley has done it again.

This is my second book to read in this series and I ate Up every word. I loved This cute, quick reads. It’s predictable and adorable and just what I needed. I am A new fan of Camilla Isley! I love How she incorporates the past couples in the series into each book so we get an update on their lives. I also Appreciate that although this is a series you can read them as stand alone books as well.

A very cute romance book!

I don't usually like books with famous characters, but I didn't really mind it here. Loved Lana and Christian and especially the cats!!!!! The end was a bit cheesy though. All the famous characters mentioned made me laugh, Julia Roberts, and Leo....werid, but funny.

Definitely recommend the book, if you're are looking for a rom-com that is an easy and quick read!
