Description

City girl Jennifer Page works sixteen-hour days and has little time for love. But when her best friend proposes they go on a blind double date, Jennifer doesn’t hesitate to say yes. What’s better for her overworked soul than time with her best friend, a new sushi restaurant, and a cute guy?

Outdoor adventurist Dylan Douglas is surprised when his blind date shows up for whitewater rafting dressed to the nines in high heels. Turns out the only experience she has with the outdoors is when she almost got eaten by a bear as a kid. Despite the mix-up, Jennifer continues with the date and Dylan admires her spunk.

Jennifer and Dylan have little in common, but he turns out to be fun and insightful. As they spend time together, Jennifer realizes an adventurist girl has been hiding inside her this whole time. Will their differences tear them apart or teach them that a rafting disaster can turn into the love of a lifetime?

Jennifer is so focused on moving forward with her career, that she hasn’t made time to have fun or date until her friend Hannah sets her up on a blind double date. Jennifer is so distracted by work that she thinks they are meeting at a sushi restaurant when they are actually going white water rafting!

Dylan is really sure what to think when his blind date shows up to go white water rafting in a dress and stilettos, but he is peasantry surprised to find that she is a good sport, and the more they talk the more interested he becomes.

However, a series of false starts with a little fear and trepidation thrown in almost sinks this burgeoning relationship! But never fear, as with all of Ms. Hatler’s stories, witty dialogue, crazy situations, and lots of heart mean that our hero and heroine will find their way back to each other in the end!

The Double Date Disaster is a charming story about a gal who is so preoccupied with her job abd trying to make herself secure. It takes a few misadventures to make her find her true self, and love.

Received as an ARC from netgalley to reciew and give my honest opinion on. Enjoyed reading this fast paced and exciting book. Jennifer and Dylan's chemistry from the very beginning really pulls you in and makes you want to see how things will end up for them. Only thing I didn't like was that I wish the story were longer as I didn't want ut to end. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Highly recommend reading!

Workaholic Jennifer’s best friend feels a Jennifer is in a need of a distraction and sets her up on a blind double date. Jennifer being all city girl meets hunk free living outdoors man Dylan. How can anything go right? Right is enjoying another Susan Hatler light romantic cute book. Fast and easy read.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It's a clean romance but so fun and entertaining that I wasn't able to put it down. There are some moments where I felt the internal dialogue just kept going but I got invested in Jen and Dylan. They are total opposites but that's what's so fun. As they spend more time together in the disaster of a blind date, Dylan turns out to be exactly what Jennifer needed.

A cute read and a case of opposites attract. Jennifer is more comfortable in the city than out traipsing in the wilderness. Pretty much anything outdoors is not her thing. Dylan has been working his way through his bucket list after recovering from an illness.

Jennifer and Dylan are set up on a blind date and end up with a "meet cute" as Jennifer thinks they're meeting at a sushi restaurant instead of whitewater rafting. Jennifer is woefully unprepared but goes anyway.

Jennifer and Dylan's relationship builds after a couple of date mishaps. There's littel angst to this story. Both Jennifer and Dylan freak out a bit since they're, on the surface, quite different people.

Cute enough to read the next in the series.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received a copy of this book from Net Gallery and am posting a honest review. I enjoyed this book by Susan Hatler. This is the first book I read by this author and based on this book, it won't be the last. This story is about a workaholic, Jen, who is set up for a (disaster) double date with Dylan. The romance doesn't end with that double date, but the second date doesn't end well either! I read this book in a couple of hours before bed and there were a couple of times that I laughed really loud! I would have loved to have a longer story (thus the 4 instead of 5 stars) because while I know that both characters were in the process of growing and growing together, I would have loved an epilogue letting me know where they were at much further down the road. I know this is only book 2 of a series, so I am looking forward to Hannah's story so I can hopefully get an update on Jen and Dylan. 4 Stars
